I came here with my mom who is also an elite, Shawn waited on us, he was great!! We got 2 appetizers to go; Samosa and spring rolls, they reheated well in the air fryer. The next day. Shawn also brought us a sample of Gajar Halwa which is a carrot pudding, he also brought us a sample of some yogurt thing both were delicious! Can't wait to come back here for dinner soon! Thanks Tabla, Yelp and Kendall for setting up this event!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere here, the space is beautiful and spacious, with plenty of outdoor seating and a great bar. It would be a great spot for a group gathering or event. Our server, who is also one of the restaurant partners, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the dishes and helped make my selections, which I really appreciated. Started with the mango mojito mocktail which was refreshing, with the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. For appetizers, we tried the Chicken 65 and Chicken Manchurian, both wok-tossed. The flavors were there, although I felt they could have used a little more balance. They were also quite oily (like dripping with oil) . I actually love fried food, so I think a lighter finish would have made these much more enjoyable. We also tried the chicken korma. It had the general flavor profile of korma, but it was a little different from the traditional version I'm used to. The sticky-style rice served with it also didn't pair particularly well with the korma, so we opted for naan instead. The naan was quite thin and more like a flatbread. Overall, the ambiance and hospitality were lovely. I think my experience was more about the particular dishes I chose, and I'd definitely be open to coming back and trying some other items.

Thank you, Tabla and Kendall, for this wonderful event! I'm not familiar with this part of Grapevine, but it was an easy drive. It sits just off the street and isn't hard to find. When I walked in, there was an ample amount of seating for those waiting to be seated. The host/hostess desk is just around the corner in the bar area. The only issue I had with that was, when you first walk in, you aren't greeted. You have to walk into the bar area to get assistance. Patrons walking in and not being greeted due to the lack of visibility, may dampen the visit for first-time visitors. You only get one first impression; make it count in the best possible way. To-go order: Chili Garlic Shrimp (Mild) Entree - I really wanted to like this, but it was definitely not enjoyed. I ended up throwing it away. I'll do my best to explain. It was described as a gravy, but I had no idea what it was. Oddly enough, you could taste (sort of) the spices, but it was really bland and had too much liquid. The shrimp weren't seasoned either, but were cooked perfectly. After you finished your bite, it had an unpleasant aftertaste. I was done after one shrimp. I didn't taste the garlic, and I assume that would have been the main ingredient other than the shrimp. Appetizer: Chili Garlic Fish - This was the biggest disappointment; like the above, it was also not edible. I didn't get the point of this dish; I felt it was a waste to have on the menu. The menu said it was fish, but it had the texture of meat. It was really dry (as seen in the photo); it lacked seasoning and was completely bland. Garlic Naan: This was okay, but I don't think they use fresh garlic. The host explained the naan would have been perfect to dip in the entree, but nope, it wasn't. Takeaway: The gentleman who assisted me was great; he was well-versed when I asked about the menu and was able to answer all that was asked. Reading some of the other reviews, I feel it would be best for them to create a menu that focuses on their strengths and to eliminate the "fusion" part of the menu. I'm surprised; we had an Elite Event at their old location, and the food was great. I have no idea what changed, but I hope things improve for them. There are several Indian restaurants in the metroplex who exceed at what they serve; I don't want Tabla to get lost in the mix. Are they worth the visit? Of course, but be mindful of what you get.

Headed to have my lunch break at Tabla, and it delivered a great Indo-Chinese spread! For our appetizer, we went for the Chicken Fantastic, which was more on the Chinese cuisine side with its sweet and sour sauce. Happy it seemed lightly fried, so I was able to enjoy it thoroughly. It had a lighter spice, but it was appreciated! My partner and I shared the butter chicken combo, which came with rice, butter chicken, plain naan, and gulab jamun. The butter chicken was creamier, but we asked for spicy, and it definitely built up. The atmosphere was great, and the staff was super friendly and helpful with our order. We even got to try a second appetizer, the Shrimp Pepper Salt, rumored to be the number one app, and I can see why it alone shined as a 5-star rating! I can't even explain the flavor combo but I'd return just it! And I would say our server said some dishes are best served fresh and I agree. Stay and dine, you'll enjoy the food while its hot and ready! Thank you, Tabla and Yelp, for providing a great dining experience!

My boyfriend, friend and I went to Tabla in collaboration with Yelp. We were excited to try a new local restaurant. Thank you for the invitation! We were able to receive a free appetizer. The restaurant also gave us yelp branded tape measures. The interior of the restaurant is clean and well-lit. The service was fantastic. We had two different servers and they made sure we were all taken care of and knowledgeable about the menu. We had saw some negative reviews about the food, but were very open minded. All 3 of us enjoyed our food thouroughly. I got the burnt garlic rice, which was very fresh and flavorful! I also received the veggie samosas, which were large and very filling. We also got garlic and cheese naan to share with the table. The garlic naan was perfect- no too much garlic but very flavorful. The cheese naan was my favorite item we ate (all 3 of us agreed). It's a must get if you go! The cheese is actually inside the naan. Would definitely return!

We always enjoy being part of a Yelp Elite event! We stopped by for a light lunch and were a little surprised that we had to wait for service. There were only a couple of tables occupied, but no one came by to greet us or take our order. Once that was resolved, the experience got a little better. We ordered the garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. The naan was really good, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The chicken tikka masala was also tasty; we just wished it had been a little hotter. The sauce was only slightly warm, but the flavor was good. Overall, we enjoyed the food and were happy to be part of another Yelp Elite event!

A big thank you to Tabla's, Kendall and Yelp for arranging an opportunity to try once again a new restaurant for me!! Due to scheduling conflicts, my daughter and I went on the last day of the event. We were greeted and seated and treated like friends of the family! Shawn, who appeared to be the manager, explain to us if we wanted to take our complementary appetizer to go, we would need to be careful about our choices. He commented that another Yelp Elite took home an appetizer with gravy and then complained in their review that it was soggy! We chose the Samoa and spring rolls to split and take home. Shawn kindly included three different sauces for us each to take home. He also let us try a sample of a carrot pudding, and a yogurt, both were delicious!! The restaurant space itself it was large with a comfortable feel. As noted by some of the other reviews, the entrance was a little confusing!

Veg Samosas, WOW. They packed in so much flavor! Best I've ever had.

What a great time we had! The person who was running the front of house, his name was Sean (not sure of the spelling), and he was soooooo nice. He had great recommendations, we definitely listened to him. We ended up trying quite a few things. Veg samosas, chicken samosas, naan sampler, Dal Tadka... all of it was so good. The veg samosas were probably the best samosas I've ever had. They were so flavorful, nicely crunchy, and the two sauces were delicious, and the sweet one turned me into a tamarind fan. The dal was so good. I love yellow lentils, they are my favorite anyway, but this dal was so good. Lightly seasoned and very lentil forward, the way it's supposed to be. My boyfriend doesn't like dal, but he was actually impressed with this one. It was just really tasty. I will say it's a very bright space due to the lights and long white wall, and that makes it appear a little less cozy. But it won't deter me from coming back. I've already told a friend about it and I'm making plans to return next Friday with my dad. He loves spicy food and the bullet naan won't disappoint. Thank you for a great experience, Tabla! (PS, don't sleep on the Mango Magic drink. I have hated mango for as long as I can remember, but after Sean gave us a sample, we had to get one to go on the way out. It was so dang good!!)

We arrived shortly after opening and were the first customers. Our server, Shahnoor, was genuinely friendly and helpful when we were deciding on our entrée. For our complimentary appetizer, we had the 3-piece Chicken Samosa served with mint cilantro chutney and tangy brown tamarind chutney. The shell was crispy, and the ingredients were piping hot... needed a few minutes to cool. We went with the Butter Chicken for the entrée, which was served with rice (very small bowl) and a side order of Naan (4 slices). The chicken was in strips covered in a creamy tomato sauce. It was all good, with fragrance unknown to me. We went mild on the spice, and the butter added a sweet flavor to each bite. This location during our early visit was chill as folks trickle in, an it has plenty of room for guests. We have a location closer to home when we decide to try again thanks to this experience, hats off to Kendall and her team for another great Yelp experience.

I had the privilege of being included in this Yelp Elite event at Tabla Grapevine. Being a lover of Indian food, I was grateful for this opportunity. A fellow Yelp Elite squad member went with me and for our complimentary appetizer, I got the chicken samosas and she got the Chicken 65. I really enjoyed my samosas and I tried/enjoyed my friend's Chicken 65. Their bar menu was pretty extensive and I saw my favorite beverage of choice, an Old Fashioned and just had to get one. Unfortunately, this experience with the drink is the reason I gave the establishment a 4-star "Good" rating rather than a higher rating. From my vantage point I could see all the happenings at the bar. I wasn't completely certain, but I was under the impression that, despite the extensive bar menu, there seemed to be some uncertainty about how to make my drink. From what I observed, I believe I saw the bartender looking up how to make it and possibly even making a phone call for assistance. It took approximately 15 minutes or more before the drink was finally brought to me. This would have been understandable if the restaurant was busy, but we arrived when the restaurant first opened and we were the only customers. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with what appeared to be a poorly made Old Fashioned. A standard Old Fashioned, which typically consists of 3 ounces of liquor along with bitters and a small amount of simple syrup, appeared to contain only about 2 ounces of liquid--or possibly even less. Considering the $15 price, I expected a properly made drink and a much better overall experience. Luckily the food did not disappoint, they offer an amazing Indian combo deal for $14.99. It comes with your choice of entrée, plain naan, steamed rice, and gulab jamun for dessert. My friend and I both got the Butter Chicken and it was fantastic. Ample food and a great price! Win Win! While we were eating, our server made a joke about us catching them on a day when the owner wasn't there and brought us over 2 glasses of the Mango Lassi; unfortunately for me, I don't love yogurt but luckily my friend did and was able to enjoy both glasses. The overall ambiance and feel of the restaurant were very nice, and the space itself was quite impressive. As I mentioned before, we were the only customers there for most of our visit. About three-quarters of the way through our meal, two other parties arrived. Despite the restaurant being almost completely empty, the first party was seated directly behind us, and the second was seated directly in front of us. Since we were in a middle booth, this resulted in all three parties being seated in close proximity to one another while the rest of the restaurant remained empty. I found this to be a bit frustrating and unnecessary, especially given the amount of available seating. I definitely will try this place again because the food, prices, ambiance were great just had a couple of hiccups.

I had heard Tabla was coming to Grapevine and when Kendall put out the event, I was excited to try it out. Grapevine needs more variety. I had been to this location before when it was the Mexican restaurant, and it still looks the same inside. It is a good sized restaurant and can get a bit noisy when full. There isn't a ton of decor so nothing to absorb the noise. However I was coming in after work, around 8, and it was pretty quiet. Tabla was gracious enough to offer us a complementary appetizer and I ordered dinner, to go. The man working the front was very nice and I quickly ordered the chicken chili garlic appetizer and chicken tikka masala. Both spicy. I do love a good spice. It didn't take long for it to be prepared and packed up, and I was on my way home. I appreciate that they wrap the curry with plastic wrap, just in case. I don't live far but everything got home in tact. The chicken chili garlic/ Manchurian was really good. Fried chicken pieces in a flavorful spicy sauce, with some bell peppers and onions. It wasn't super spicy and it didn't linger, but it was lively and very tasty. The chicken was also cooked perfectly. Still moist and not chewy at all. The chicken tikka masala was a bit of a disappointment. First, there was definitely more chicken in my appetizer than in the entree and it was bland. I added some salt which woke it up some, but it just wasn't doing it for me. They have four levels of spice, mild, medium, spicy, and extra spicy. I ordered it spicy and I believe what came out mild, it had NO punch. Also, the rice was mushy. I ended up just enjoying the appetizer for dinner and called it a day. I had been to the Tabla in Fort Worth, that location was counter service and the prices were much more competitive. This franchise location is a full service restaurant and I thought the prices were a bit high, even for this area. The first yelp reviews were posted in April, so they have been open a while. There have been other reviews mentioning the lack of flavor, and I hope they get that worked out.

I was a little surprised how much I liked this place. I admit, as a reviewer myself, that sometimes I can let existing reviews color my opinion before I ever step foot in the building despite my best intentions. Western Asian cuisine is my jam so it's always a huge blow to me when I set expectations too high and the food isn't made with love and every spice in the cabinet. This was the opposite case. When I came in, yes, the large entryway without a host stand until you walked through to the bar was a little confusing, but I was greeted and sat right away after I took a few steps to find a friendly face tucked around the corner. The art in the entryway was also incredibly lovely and genuinely is the perfect spot for the large families gathered there that evening to take happy group photos so perhaps only a small "come in!" On top of one of the specials sign would be enough to assuage the awkwardness of that large middle space. My server was happy to explain everything and offer lots of suggestions for a well rounded meal, including just chatting with me about jewelry and the woes of tailoring menus to demand versus ingredient loss cost in the case of no longer offering plain lassi. I went with the medium spicy paneer with garlic chili sauce for my included appetizer and greatly enjoyed the delightful squeak of the fresh cheese and the perfect spice and flavor profile of the sauce. I may not have ordered it on my own due to the price for a small appetizer but I greatly enjoyed it nonetheless. Overall, everyone that came to my table was so friendly and happy to share their usual work hours so that I could come again during their shifts to talk more. There was a little lag in service due to a very large party that was sat at just the most unfortunate timing right ahead of me but it was truly well communicated and I never felt forgotten. The prices are much higher than I am used to for Tabla but with it being 10 minutes from door to airport terminal, I figure the location has a lot to do with that. It really is incredibly convenient for any airport trips.

The gentleman that seated us and then took care of us the whole time was so incredibly knowledgeable. We learned that this is a chain and about the ingredients in the food. He helped us pick out our meals as well. The chicken fantastic was yummy for the free appetizer. I went with my mom and we tried a few different apps. I have a sensitivity to red dye which some of the food does have so I stuck with other options. The chicken korma was DELICIOUS and my mom's mint chicken with sauce dish was so tasty. The leftovers didn't last long at my house! The inside was clean and nicely laid out as well. Loved the touch of glitter in the floor. My mom and I decided we will be repeat customers.

We had vegetarian dishes, malai kofta and mutter paneer, and they were genuinely surprisingly fabulous. They were cooked freshly, not from a pre-made pot.
