Hired a driver and brought the bike to Yellowstone Bicycles. I wish I could remember the name of the nice older gentleman who runs (owns?) the place, but he was terrific. Replaced the shifter cable and diagnosed the problem (previous shop had left off a key piece of equipment). While Yellowstone Bicycles doesn't carry Trek bikes, they were able to jury-rig a piece of equipment that solved the problem and saved my vacation. I got the sense he saw it as a challenge to fix and wasn't going to let me leave without making it work. We spent 40 minutes figuring out the issue and coming up with a plan and then he charged me...$25. These are great folks who know their craft and enjoy working and meeting people. I certainly enjoyed meeting them. Don't you wish every business could be like this? Chapeau!

This…read moreis an old fashioned bike store just at the Park entrance with all the parts and spares that you would need for a cycling adventure. They owner was great and flexible on bike return. I cycled to Norris Geyser area. Just under 60 miles return. There are few hills, so if you enjoy a full day in the saddle you can reach the geysers. The Park is beautiful so any length ride is rewarding. I saw bison and wolves within 5 miles of the Park entrance. I recommend the store and cycling in Yellowstone.

We had two guides on a four day fishing tour and each day was a different experience. We were pairs with a new guide every day and they all really knew their stuff. The area, weather wise made each day different but each guide made the best of it. I would say, overall the pro shop was well kept and clean and full of different items for purchase but getting down to the nitty gritty for fishing, exploring the areas best spots and each guide knowing their way around the area and really giving us the gold standard for treatment, I really felt it was a place I would want to return time and time again. Even if you just want to get a1-2 or4-5 day trip in, you can't beat Henry's Fork Anglers guided tour.

If you haven't had a huckleberry thing yet, give it a go. It's unique, and something my group and I found delightful. Things go a bit south from here. The restaurant is either sit down for food (not ice cream) or to go. We were famished by the time we finished our exploration of the geysers, so we were ready to eat anything. The restaurant flags all the healthy/environmentally friendly options which turns out which doesn't leave a lot of options. For some reason, we all thought we'd try to "help the planet" by going for their more limited options, but man was I filled with regret. I got the black bean burger, and the patty would not hold. It kept falling to pieces while I was holding the patty up. I mean if it can't even hold it's shape, offer it up as a bowl. What's the point of serving it as a burger? My friends had better luck and their food was pretty good. I think the saving grace for all of us was the soda. The service was poor. For example, one friend asked for cheese on the side to dip her fries in. She was served cheese fries with the fries coated in fries. We ordered ice cream after our food. While we were still working on the remnants of our plates, the server just took the plates asking if we were ready to leave. Like cool. You just want us to leave. I get that it was a restaurant, but I was close to not wanting to leave a tip at all.

I was wearing my warmest California winter skiing/snowboarding gear but was still feeling chilly while in Yellowstone. But finding clothes in Gardiner that someone in Gardiner would actually wear proved difficult as I quickly learned that Gardiner stores weren't stocked with the cute and warm outfits that I saw the people of Montana wearing - they were stocked with what tourists wanted - souvenirs and last minute travel items. So I get it - there are currently only 971 residents in Gardner and in seasonal months, tourists greatly outnumber residents so shops are geared for the tourist. But it still sucked since it's not what I wanted. Enter "The Saddle Shop". In addition to saddles and horse riding equipment, it offered clothes and accessories that were stylish and wearable. It was the only store open that offered colorful beanies in multiple styles rather than just Yellowstone or plain beanies. I didn't find an appropriate parka or boots but I did find a really cute beanie that I wore everyday for the rest of the trip. Loved it so much!

Mr. Kellem is a custom…read moresaddle maker and Mrs. Kellem runs the retail part of the business as well as making custom leather accessories (purses, chaps, vests etc.) The retail store has everything from shoes and clothes, gifts, tack and leather goods, jewelery, books and lots very unique and often hand made gifts and very few of the items sold in the store were made outside of the United States!!!! The customer service is excellent and the sales people are polite and helpful in finding sizes or helping with gift ideas. They are all very knowledgeable about the products in the store such as where and how they are made. This will be an excellent shopping experience during your trip through Yellowstone National Park and you can see the Roosevelt Arch from the store front and the beautiful mountains laying just inside the gateway to Yellowstone. I have even been lucky enough to see elk eating from the flower box out front of the store and bison strolling up and down Park Street. You will love this place!

What a great place for souvenirs! Everything you might want and more: magnets, postcards, tee…read moreshirts, food, coffee, etc. The woman behind the counter was pleasant, and helpful. I got a glow in the dark Yellowstone tee for one niece for only $10. The Huckleberry lollipops were only $1, shaped like bears, and perfect for the rest of the kids. Before we leave Gardiner, I'll go back for more tees - especially the BOGO free ones by the front door!

If you didn't bring one, this is a good place to pick up a hat. Hotel in the park also has a souvenir shop, but this store has a bigger selection, if you're looking for a souvenir. If you've come from Bozeman or Livingston, you'll want to get a soft drink or yogurt, you'll appreciate sitting here for while before heading in. Food is good at the nearby Two Bit Saloon. It's still a bit of a ride from here to the mineral springs....keep your eye out for buffalo, they're all over the place.
