For a well-dressed chauffer, always on time if not ahead of it, bringing you around in a comfortable luxury SUV, Marty's rates were reasonable. No regrets in taking a chance and trying him out. Will gladly do so again on our next Orlando trip. My only regret though was not having a group photo with him as we were too excited to hit the parks at opening each morning and too tired when we got home after closing them each day. However, instead of using a standard meter or charging a reasonable wait rate, he charged a completely arbitrary, forced flat rate of $64 total ($54 for a short 9-mile airport ride plus $10 for waiting). He didn't even provide any receipt. While the wait was our fault, charging illegal, unmetered rates to passengers is not the way to handle it. Use an official city cab or standard rideshare instead to ensure transparent pricing.

It seems their main aim is to sell you side services. Uber seems to have cynically exploited advancing the taxi profession. Now they're the problem. My guess is they're "driven" by margin compression above all else. I wish there were alternatives.

I was able to get a ride within a minute and it told me the driver, type of vehicle, and license information. It also showed me his star rating. It is also very convenient to see the location and notification updates when the driver is nearby. My driver had over a 4.9 rating (as I have too), and picked me up in his nice car. His driving was very safe and the directions given by Uber to the airport was accurate. I was able to get to the airport on time and tipping was as easy as entering an amount in the application. I find Uber much cheaper and safer than taxis. Uber matches us with a driver to our ratings, and we can lose our privileges if they get low. Since our credit cards are linked, we don't have to worry about carrying cash. Most cars are clean and comfortable, but some can be old. I am glad that Uber has a safety feature where either the driver or passenger can hit a panic button on the app that immediately calls the station and takes recording (I think) if anything happens. The only issue I have is that sometimes the maps can give inaccurate directions, or a ride get cancelled at the last minute. Uber is much better than getting a taxi, and the most convenient application for me in ride sharing. I use it many other countries like Mexico and Colombia. We made two stops but it was still a quick trip overall. My driver (I forget his name!) was so friendly and was pointing things out and telling me lots of facts along the way. On the way back to the airport it was a full bus as we made 3 stops. I was most impressed with how timely they were. My pick up time was 12:25 and they closed the doors and took off right at 12:26, leaving whoever else was supposed to be at my stop but hadn't shown up yet. In the past I had taken a different transportation and we were stuck at one of the resorts waiting for this late person that overslept or something. I would definitely use Mears again!

The bus was clean and had excellent air conditioning, which was especially nice after a long flight. The ride to our Disney resort was comfortable, and we arrived fairly quickly. While staying at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, I called the hotel front desk to ask about transportation to Orlando International Airport because I wanted to book Mears Connect. I was transferred to Yellow Cab, believing I was speaking with Mears Connect. When I was quoted $75 for a cab, I clearly declined the service. The representative then asked if I wanted to be transferred to Mears Connect instead, and I said yes. I completed my reservation directly with Mears Connect for about $16. I never confirmed or authorized a Yellow Cab reservation, nor did I receive any confirmation that a cab had been booked. On the day of my departure, I received two messages--one from Mears Connect and another saying a cab was on its way. When the cab arrived, the driver called my name. I specifically asked if he was with Mears Connect, and he said yes. Since English is not my first language and I had difficulty understanding his accent, I believed he was my Mears Connect driver and got into the vehicle. I found it weird and I told him I thought it was going to be a bus instead, he said "no no they sent a cab" Only after I showed him my Mears Connect QR code did he tell me I was in the wrong vehicle. The company then claimed I had failed to cancel a cab reservation that I never knowingly made in the first place. The driver insisted I pay because he had already driven to my hotel, even though this confusion resulted from the company's booking process--not anything I had done. To avoid missing my actual Mears Connect bus, I paid the fare that had accumulated just so I could get out of the cab. What happened next was completely unacceptable. After I boarded the Mears Connect bus, the Yellow Cab driver actually came onto the bus, approached me in front of other passengers, and told me he should have kept my luggage until I paid. I found this intimidating and unprofessional. This entire situation was caused by a reservation I never authorized. I have asked the company to review the recording of my original phone call, which should clearly show that I declined the $75 cab and only agreed to be transferred to Mears Connect. This experience added unnecessary stress to my trip and is not how customers should be treated. I hope the company reviews its booking procedures so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

We attempted to get an Uber/Lyft at 4:30am Sunday Morning to get to the airport. No one would…read moreaccept the drive. We were forced to quickly find taxi service to make our flight on time. Google search recommended 24seven taxi. Fee was twice as much as Uber/Lyft. But we needed to get to the airport so we accepted. "Olu" arrived in a reasonable amount of time. He helped load the luggage into the vehicle. He was pleasant to speak with. About half way through the drive he asked if we had and could pay with cash. He said the company would refund the credit card charge after the fact. During the drive I checked my bank statement. The charge "finalized" before we arrived at the airport. He continued to ask for cash and said "the owner will call you". I showed him that the transaction has already gone through. "I'm not going to pay you twice and get no receipt that I paid in cash". BUYER BEWARE!!!! Their phone number immediately hangs up on you. Their social media is spotty at best. I attempted to give them the opportunity to respond before writing this. I received no response. He also had the nerve to ask for a "gift" after attempting to shake me down for cash and credit card payment. Maybe this is a single driver issue? Maybe the driver was the owner? Pay the extra money to schedule an Uber/Lyft ahead of time when needing a ride at a low volume time. ***Update**** Owner called me to apologize about the situation explaining he is attempting to have drivers take payments directly to cut out a middle man (card processors), but the online functionality has not been disabled to allow for clear communication between clients and drivers. If this had been clear ahead of time, we would have had a much better experience.
