Where do I start? I had the pleasure of riding with a girl named Jennifer in a yellow taxi cab I believe her cab number was 3018. She is not your ordinary cab driver! She provided me with so much information about Las Vegas in our 15 minute drive and the conversation was absolutely phenomenal. You can tell this girl really likes her job! If you have the pleasant experience of riding with Jennifer, she'll make your day! I asked her how I could make her day better and she said just leave me a five-star review and let people know I'm out there trying to change lives one smile and ride at a time! What a sweet girl.. read more

Formal Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct and Overcharging I sincerely hope this remains the most unpleasant experience of my entire trip. As I don't live in Vegas, the general quality of taxi services in Las Vegas doesn't personally affect my daily life. However, I felt a strong obligation to report this incident to your headquarters. I gain nothing from doing this, but I am taking time out of my busy schedule because I believe this behavior is unacceptable. Incident Details: * Route: Flamingo Hotel to Gold Coast Hotel * Estimated Fare (Rideshare): Approximately $12-$14 on Lyft. At the Uber pickup area, I encountered a taxi. The driver was an Indian woman wearing a long dress and a hijab. Since the taxi was right there and the driver ask me where I go to, I asked for the fare to the Gold Coast Hotel. After making a quick phone call to someone, she initially quoted me $20. When I declined, she consulted further with the person on the phone and changed the price to $12. Since this matched the rideshare price and the car was already there, I decided to take it. She assured me she would run the meter. As I got in, she seemed visibly--almost overly--excited to have secured a passenger. Issues During the Trip: * Intentional Detour: I had checked Google Maps several times and knew the route was essentially a straight line. However, as soon as we started, she took a completely different direction. * Distracted Driving: She remained on a speakerphone call in her native language for a significant portion of the trip. When I asked if we were going the right way, she insisted we were, but then--incredibly--asked me where I was going. * Lack of Navigation: She handed me her phone and told me to type in the destination myself. Only then did she start using navigation, even though we were already headed in the wrong direction. * Overcharging: Due to the massive detour, the fare came out to $24.38. I ended up "touring" New York-New York and MGM Grand and even took a photo of the Golden Lion statue out of sheer disbelief. Unprofessional Interaction: When I pointed out that Uber had quoted $12, she sarcastically replied, "If Uber was $12, Why don't you take uber?" I repeated. "Why don't you take uber?" I reminded her that she was the one who lowered her initial quote from $20 to $12 to get me to join. She then started making excuses about fluctuating Uber prices and road construction. I originally intended to pay exactly $12 in cash and leave, but assuming she was a salaried employee, I decided to pay by card. I left zero tip, as I felt I was the one who deserved compensation for the wasted time and stress. With the rise of Uber and Lyft, taxi revenues are surely declining. If this is how your drivers treat passengers, no one will want to use your service. I believe it is vital for the company to know that you have drivers representing you in this manner. I felt like I was in India. read more

I asked the Taxi driver if he had cash change because the total was $21. Gave him $40 and he only gave me back $15 and not the full $19. When I told him I would pay with card instead, he said he canceled that option so I had to pay with cash. Very uncomfortable because he would not unlock the door otherwise. Super sneaky and steals tip money from customers. read more

This taxi service is a SCAM, I got into one of these taxis at Harry Reid airport in LasVegas going to Boulder station casino. I noticed we past a street Nellis that is past Boulder Casino, then I questioned the driver as to why we were in Henderson NV. He made a turn at thr light and headed in the right direction. I did let him know although I may not be a resident anymore, I do know Vegas well enough to know where I am going. I will never take another taxi in Vegas again. My business will be with Uber every time. DON'T TRUST THIS TAXI SERVICE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST! read more

Cab 3583 on Sunday Jan 23 2025 at 10:30 pm was driving like a total jerk. This guy should not be driving.

I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Every place starts with 3 stars. Booking: -3 stars That's right, -3 stars! The phone tree is horrible; it takes multiple callbacks to get their idiotic AI to recognize the address you're requesting a taxi for. Their webpage is no better; no email confirmations are sent. Getting a taxi in the 21st century should not be a chore. I like to use taxis and not Uber or Lyft because I like the idea of supporting professional drivers who are licensed and regulated. I have to re-think that ideology now. read more

I'm not sure about the actual drivers or price but being a bartender they make it super easy for you to call your guests a cab.

This company doesn't deserve even one star. I had the worst experience with my driver last night. When I got into the cab from the airport he asked me where I was headed. I told him "The Paris". During the ride to the hotel, he was great--friendly and everything. Then we ended up at Harrah's. I told him "Oh I'm sorry I'm going to The Paris". He immediately started to argue with me and professed I said "Harrah's". He told me I was wrong and kept arguing with me. I said, "They sound very similar so maybe it was just a miscommunication". At this point, he starts to raise his voice and demean me. He gets more animated and flustered. It was psychotic. I felt very unsafe with his demeanor. He then had the nerve to tell me he could take me to The Paris but KEEPS ARGUING WITH ME LOUDER AND LOUDER THAT I WAS WRONG. I told him to let me out because I was feeling unsafe with him, I was the customer and I didn't want to be around him with his aggressive attitude. I would rather be on the side of the road than be in the car with him anymore. He replies "YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY ME!". I said, "I'm going to pay you just to let me out!". I reluctantly paid but of course, I didn't leave a tip. I had to call my husband to have him grab a taxi from The Paris to get me. I was so upset. We tried to call the Checker Cab line but of course, no one picked up. After reading all of the reviews it seems like this company is terrible but nothing is being done. So I am going to contact the BBB, Chamber of Commerce, and other outlets that investigate businesses in this area. The safety of the customers is important and Checker Cab doesn't realize that. Also, we did almost get into 2 accidents. He was a horrible driver. My driver's last name was Hirsi. The cab he was driving was #3665. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Cab 3645 complained to us as soon as we got into the vehicle how we could've just walked and telling us we were a waste of time. He could've taken someone else to the airport instead. Ummm 20 mins in the heat plus it didn't matter, it's not like it was a free ride. When we got to our destination it was 6.95 so I gave him a $10 and yes I wanted my $3 back since he was rude to us. He got mad I didn't want give him a tip. I said I wanted it back and if he would've been nice then I would've but no. He started yelling at us and calling us names. B get out of my car. First we had no trouble getting a cab within seconds of our arrival at the hotel departure area. The driver was pleasant and so very helpful arranging all of our bags safely and securely. There was no question as to the cost of the trip to the airport. It was posted and not any more than it had cost us to arrive several days before via uber. Driver was skilled, alert and knowledgable. Gave us some wonderful pointers for our next visit. Because of the rush of departures at the same time we were quick to get out of the cab and it wasn't until we got to the next leg of our trip that I realized I had left my phone. Because she had given me a receipt I had all of the information I needed to contact the cab company, locate my phone and have it delivered to my home. Wonderful customer service with a pleasant attitude helped me through all of the steps from my initial call to the connection to the office that would forward it to me. If I could give negative stars I would! This woman picks us up her cab beeps and beeps like the door is open but it's not. Our seat belts are on. But then the beeping doesn't stop its now a long loud constant signal. It finally stops half way thru the ride. Then she has the windows down Like it's NOT 90 degrees out. She's was rude asf. Slow asf. I barely made it to my concert on time. So then at the end of the ride she tells us her card reader doesn't work and we have to call some stranger give our card info over the phone. I told her I'm not doing that. Then she gonna tell me to calm down it will be ok. Like what? Then I told her don't tell me to calm down and that I didnt like nothing about this ride. I also had no intentions of giving her a tip that we now had to run into the casino to get change for. She tells me Fuck you. So I get out take pics and go into the casino to wait for my husband to get change but she jumps out to confront me like I need to steal $20. Then Trying to tell me that I should have enjoyed her ride and if I was hot I should have said something which I did and all she did was put her arm out the window. I will never take their cab again. I'd suggest you don't either. Not if you want a respectful classy non ghetto ride with a professional. I didn't take a pic of her face and I never once cuss out this woman or say anything to her but Im.not giving a stranger m6 card info over the phone. She was shady asf. The whole thing was shady. Driver had the audacity to complain about the tip even though the fare was $30 for a less than 10 minute ride to the airport from the Resorts World. Now that I see the reviews, not surprised but when you stand in the taxi line at the hotel, you take what you get. Driver James Betts was a driver. I paid the rate of $21 flat rate as posted, he did not provide any service and when I asked for a receipt and handed him his $21 he insulted me saying I was cheap and what's wrong with Canadian's don't they believe in tipping. I hope Mr Betts supervisor reads this and can help him to understand tipping is for service, an experience which he provided neither. The greeter at the Mirage flagged down a cab for me, I was on my way to the airport to catch a returning flight. Car # 2015 from Star Cabs pulls up and I jump in, my driver is Ruperto R. Jr. and his licences indicated YCS transportation. So far so good. I'm in a hurry, the flight leaves in 90 minutes, as he pulls out I see a handmade sign taped to the ceiling that says "no credit or debit, cash only". Damn, I have no cash. "Are all cabs cash only?" - I ask. Ruperto says "no", he doesn't have the credit card machine installed. I guess I can't count that against him, I made an assumption since it's 2012 and didn't read the sign before jumping in. Lesson's learned: ask before you jump in. He says he'll take me to US Bank, so he takes a left and soon pull into the bank. There's an ATM at the door and an ATM in the parking lot for cars to drive up to. I tell him to just pull in the exit since I am sitting in the back adjacent to him (and no one is there), he opts to pull all the way around instead. I think there's a language barrier here, but while I'm quite rushed and looking to minimize time he's a bit more laid back. He pulls up and I can't reach the ATM, and the sun is shining on the screen so I cannot read it, so I squeak out of the door and block the sun and eventually get my cash. Yay. Ruperto drives me to the airport, when we arrive he pops the trunk and doesn't get out or offer to help. The bill: $17.50. He didn't want to give me change back, when I placed it on the arm rest he just said "thank you", expecting the rest. I should have asked for $1.50 back, but I was more concerned about making the flight so I just left it. There seems to be a grave lack of customer service and due diligence here, I have yet have an exceptional experience with any of the transportation services offered in LV. Ruperto doesn't mind taking the extra time and drive (I felt) to run up the meter, while I could have just jumped out of the car and got cash at the entrance. If I ever see Star Cab again I'll remember to just avoid them, especially car #2015. I'll remember to ask about credit first before stepping into the cab. read more
