I'm walking about 7.5 miles home because I called for a cab and they show up with no way to take a debit card. It's 2026, most taxis are taking cards now. Unfortunately they're the only cab in amsterdam ny. We need better. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I'd give zero stars but I'm forced to leave at least 1 star. The lady tried charging me $5 to stop to get cash and then $1 per minutes which is ridiculous. So ultimately she just wasted the companies time and gas to get me and did not get me. read more

Called day before a trip to see if they had cab service at 7:30 next morning. Was assured that if I called by 7:00 cab would be there no later than 7:30. Called next morning at 6:55 am. Told me cab would be there in 15 to 20 minutes. Was VERY specific about my address and need to be picked up by 7:30 to get to where I needed to go. At 7:25, no cab. Called and was told cab came to house but no one was there. Absolutely nonsense. Was waiting on curb since 7 am, and NO CAB came by. Told me would resend cab ASAP. Waited until 7:48, still no cab. Had to drive myself to catch bus for a trip. If missed bus, out $5,000. As you can imagine, cannot recommend this cab company, especially if promptness is a consideration. read more

ALB airport experience: Yellow Cab and Advantage are the same company, at least as far as the airport is concerned because there is a number posted next to the TAXI stop across the street from the arrivals area which one would presume was put there by the airport. I usually leave a car at the airport but was on a longer trip and thought I could save money (!) and enjoy greater convenience (!!) by getting a ride down from Saratoga Springs and taking the cab back. When I got to the presumed pickup location there were no cabs at 10 pm on a Tuesday; I called the listed dispatch number and was quoted 15 minutes but it was close to ah hour before I got in a cab. During this time several battered vehicles rolled up in the passenger pickup area (not the designated cab pickup across the street) and offered to take me to Saratoga for $80; Lyft and Uber were quoting $45 so this seemed outrageous (but no Lyft or Uber drivers were available). Finally got a ride with a cab that had been called to take a woman to a location near me. We were not allowed to split the fare but it was considered two separate rides. I ended up paying $70 plus a $10 tip. If I'd paid for long term parking for the 11 days I was gone it would have been $66. read more

TERRIBLE taxi company. Pregnant wife needed to go to the ER was told they would be there 10-15 mins NEVER SHOWED turned off the phones. Closing time was 12 i called at 10:45 pm. this is the worst ever!!! the drivers are very reckless! it was icy and slippery and one of the drivers were doing 55 in a 30 riding on two wheels just to get me to work! I had to ask him to please slow down or let me out to walk to work!!!!! one driver picked me up and dropped me off 3 miles from my house , riding on sidewalks to get around cars !!! This company was requested to take me on a round trip from my home to a gas station less than 1 mile away. The company knew that I needed to go directly home but picked up 2 other ppl and attempted to pick up another. I did not get home until almost 1 hour later. I complained respectfully while having the driver laugh while exploring that I need to get home to work and I advised the company that if I am paying for a round trip then it should be a round trip. I called the police after being taken further from my home and there was nothing they can do but arrest me if I didn't pay the fare which I never not said I would not like pay. I am so disgusted that I am taking legal action because it was deliberate and disrespectful both the driver and dispatcher. The driver turned so hard that I fell out my Seat! The driver told me this is not NYC which I am not even from but I am black. I told her that because I'm black does not mean I'm from NYC. I am taking this to a judge for deliberately having me in that cab purposely when the trip should have been 5 mins tops. read more

So I took a ride with my four children they was well behave I reach my destination and it was close so I had to call back and when I did the lady said 15 mins one of my kids had to use restroom the cab came in 5 min and was rushing me and my children my child was still in the restroom they pulled off I called back and they assume I was shopping she was rude and now leaves me and children with out a ride back home very in professional I would never ride with again read more

Worst cab in town. They tell you 10-15 minutes then 30 40 later they show. Most of the drivers are rude and drive like a Mad man and don't stop at the stop signs. Never use this cab. Use On Time or the real city cab not the one that yellow started to run the name into the ground. read more

Unfortunately, this is the only cab (that I'm aware of) open all night long in Amsterdam. Do not call this cab unless absolutely necessary. They are extreme price gougers. Gas is about $2 bucks a gallon right now. How come your prices STILL reflect gas prices from two years back when gas was close to four bucks a gallon??? Here's a quick story...I have a friend who lives in Scotia and travels, on the weekend, from Scotia to Amsterdam. She travels here in the Scotia cab.....$21 one way. Recently, she was stuck for a ride home so I called this cab...the Yellow Cab of Amsterdam to ask what THEIR price was to bring her home from Amsterdam to Scotia. I assumed it might be $2 or $3 dollars more.....LOL....they wanted $35.00.......THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS...when other cabs are charging in the lower TWENTIES?? What's wrong with this picture? Again,,,,,gas has gone DOWN...WAY DOWN. Why are you gouging hard-working folks' pockets? Oh wait...silly me....the only answer would be so that you can line your own! Fortunately and before I had the chance to call the other cab companies in the city, we found her transportation home from a family member going that way. Keep in mind, though, the next time you want a taxi.....try the others first...I remember taking 518-842-4788 quite often while working in the city (can't remember the name off the top of my head) but they were always decent, friendly and fair. They may not have the greatest looking cars around, but if it gets you from point A to point B at a fair price, with friendly service....that's all you need! Bottom line....just remember there ARE other options around town that will probably allow you to keep a few of those coins in your own pocket! read more
