Perfect park to bring our dog on a walk out!! There is a bunch of newly renovated upgrades to the park. I like how clean and modern the community building looks especially with the bathroom. There is a bunch of new Futsal courts, but they are currently closed, and there are signs saying no trespassing. I don't know when they open since there's no date. Similarly, the lawns around the park are also closed with gates. Nonetheless I'm pretty excited to see more of this park grow because it used to be more plain and have one playground and dog park section. Now there is at least three different playground sections with upgraded apparatuses. I love to bring my dog to the dog park. It is well-maintained and clean there isn't a huge crowd of dogs and it's nice for a few to hang out at. It's simple; plain dirt and one bench but separated by small dogs and large. Would be helpful for more shade since the heat and sunshine here can get pretty fierce. My only problem is I wish this park had more sports included, it seems like soccer is the main and only focus. I was hoping for some tennis courts here. There's so much grass too which I feel like could've been used for a different sport but it's OK. Parking lot is big and there is multiple bathrooms. Not too much trash cans around, but there are some near the picnic tables! read more

ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING!!!! 18.5 Million dollar spent expansion this park with our tax dollars !!!! Through Measure A, Measure AV, and the Park Development Fund. Not one Engineer or any intelligent human being from the City Planning Office can figure how to keep the water on from freezing in the winter. This is not the first park ever built in PALMDALE the last 20 years. Seriously ??? ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING!!!! What's the cost to fix the freezing pipes, $19.5 Million? What's most embarrassing is there's no shame in printing signs admitting what they've done and proudly hanging them around the park. PATHETIC! Park is alright, not kid friendly in the summer. Whoever decided to use black for the park didnt think about the sun beating diwn on it. Kids burn their legs and hands trying to play. Remember you are in the antelope valley. Any other color would be better. Just my opinion. Or put shade above all the play areas. read more

Been here twice now and people don't trust their dogs to socialize. They treat it as their own personal dog run. Your dogs will always have this problem if you don't interact out of your pack!!!! read more

We are always on the road looking for new dog parks to stop at. Today we stopped at Yellen Dog Park, only 15 minutes from our hotel. This park seemed brand new as it was very clean. The space for the large dogs was massive and also had shade trees. read more

Wow, finally we have a dog park in Palmdale. I used to take my dogs to the park when I lived in Lancaster. I am so glad we finally have one on this side of town. Looking forward to many memories with my family & our dogs. It's also a good place to meet other people who love dogs. Cool little park. Has 2 sections, 1 for small dogs and the other for big dogs. Our dogs love it especially when there's more dogs around. It's all just dirt and both sides only have one bench. We usually go around 7 just so we're not burning up. There's a lot of ant hills so that does make me nervous. Some people don't know how to pick up their dogs poop even though they provide you with bags there. Just overall a great place to socialize your dogs. read more

First time here and will say its definitely say it has a huge small dog area. The trees need to grow out more to provide shade, but that takes time. I love the overall feel of this place. It feels like a family park. You can do multiple things here. Hope everyone enjoys it! read more

It's a cute area for a dog park. Nice and open. Only one bench and nothing to do. It would be nicer to have an umbrella or shaded area as well as another couple of benches. Very open and tons of play room, but lack of shade and places to sit will make me reconsider coming back. read more

I really do like this dog park! Have not had any issues with aggressive dogs just dumbass owners who think that when a dog barks at another one it means fight! When it truly just means he's excited to play and wants the other dog to engage! My dog doesn't even know how to bark I don't think but I always feel bad when others go through that. Great dog park with good events and activities for dogs. The city gives dogs treats and fun activities to do. My cocker spaniel loves meeting other dogs here. I love that big dogs have a different yard than small dogs. Most people control their dogs and keep them on a leash until they get to the appropriate dog yard. read more

Its an ok dog park. I dont feel safe going when alot of people are there. I tried once and somebody had a pack of pits in the large dog area with 1 female in heat all the males were unaletered and were aggressive towards my white german shep. I went today with my other pup and when I was leaving around 9:30pm a group of young girls were arguing with there supposable friend in the parking lot when I pulled up those same chicks were smoking pot and drinking. But when I was leaving I said is this really the place you should be doing this. I shouldnt have said anything but im tired of such a trashy community. The girls were supposably nurses. Mind you this is a park for dogs and kids between 2 schools yes its night time but no security nothing there. I dont mind weed and alcohol but seriously do that at your home not in a public place same with your petty fights it doesnt make you cool. read more

So glad to have a dog park with water and bags available for the pooches. It would probably be better in the colder months because the trees are not very big and there's no shade structure. When the trees are big, this would be a good place during the summer. Maybe the city could organize a dog walk in the spring time to let people know we have this here now. read more

We took our kids (4 legged) to Yellen recently. The park is very nice for children with the play area & had a nice walking path & green areas. We were not as impressed with the dog area. No grass, no trees, (it will take years for the trees to grow) no one picks up after their dogs. During the summer the dirt will be to hot for the dogs, with no shade. There were no trash receptacles in the dog area. The gates should have an automatic swing shut on them. Gates were left open when we were there, in which case dogs can run out. Needless to say we will only be able to walk our kids on leash around the park. read more

My dog loves the dog park! Everyone here is nice and their pets are all well behaved. I enjoy coming here. The only thing I don't like is that it's just dirt with rocks and that has torn up my dogs paws that she started limping and I have to wait until they heal. Will they ever put fake grass?? Or anything beside the dirt and rocks? Another thins is that there isn't much shade. So if you don't mind coming until 8 when it isn't blazing hot then you'll be fine. read more
