Update !!! Back today to bring mom's dog to park. Why don't the latches properly latch on the large dog area I just watched a dog push is way out. Thanks God he's friendly. So I went over and tried to push pull and slam the gates to get them to close properly with no luck. They close fitted but the latch won't close so it can be pushed open without unlatching it on the parks interior side I didn't check all the gates just the two closest to small dog area, . How scary!! Come on Mayor Parris you got all these thought on how to cage up and ll ill of the homeless can you redirect some of that attention to the parks the taxpayers children utilize? read more

My husband and I drove by this park and my husband had to use the restroom so we pulled in. There were plenty of parking spaces. Since we had our dog with us, we decided we could walk her around and get some fresh air. Come to find out, they had a dog park here! They had two areas, one for small dogs, and one for large dogs. They fenced off an acre just for the dog area. They had plenty of "poop bags" around which was convenient. It was around noon and as we walked by, there were no other dogs inside so we walked her around the loop and hung out by one of the tables in the shade. The park itself it quite large and we noticed people with their kids and people jogging. They have a playground/jungle gym. After about 30 minutes, we noticed more dog owners. A man walked by to say Hello and he had two small dogs who wanted to play with ours. When we started walking back towards the parking lot, we passed by the dog park area again and a lot of dogs showed up, including a small poodle-mix puppy who wanted to play with our dog as well. The only negative I could see was that there was a lot of mud/water in the large dog play area along the fence. Gosh, what a mess that would have been. 60/100 Reviews for 2015 read more

Nice place to take your dog. Just beware of people who take in their unaltered dogs which may cause fights. Or people who don't let their dogs figure it out. They let them loose and are running after then instead of letting them figure it out on their own. read more

Only reviewing this as a Dog Park option. Not the entire park. This is the dog park I found the best in my area. The Antelope Valley doesn't really have a lot of great options for anything so this will have to do. There is not a whole lot of room, but it's not bad. My dog is a Dachshund/Pitt bull mix and so she's got a lot of energy but she's not a huge dog. I've never had an issue or seen any issues at the park with other dogs or people having fights. While I haven't gone around the rest of the park, It appears safe enough. I am a 6'3 male though, this may be different for people who are women or kids. (It still is the Antelope Valley so it's probably got a lot of issues, I am just not seeing them) read more

Such a nice park! They have off-leash dog areas for small dogs, and a separate area for large dogs. Grass, trees, and grounds are kept up well. My dogs really had a great time playing! Will definitely revisit! read more

Great dog park. Best I've seen in AV so far. I should give it 5 stars but I'm comparing it to some truly exceptional dog parks in other parts of the state. Lots of friendly dogs and owners keep everyone happy. Plenty of shade and water for dogs. Would definitely recommend for dogs in need of play time. read more

MAKE SURE IF YOUR DOG IS SMALLER KEEP THEM IN THE SMALL DOG SECTION, DO NOT BRING THEM INTO THE LARGE DOG SECTION!! Other than that it is a great park, do keep in mind some people are really delicate with their dogs and do not understand how dogs are meant to play. If you know you're dog does not like to play/have other dogs go near their space, then please do not go. Dogs are meant to play and have fun at the park, not be protected by their human too much because they don't like "rough" play. read more

Very nice park. There are separate areas for large and small dogs, as well as huge areas of grass for play, exercise, etc. It never appears to be crowded even when the parking lot is full. The dog areas are well maintained and people are usually pretty friendly. Great place to take your canine friend for some doggie fun. If your dog is small, please do NOT take or walk your tiny dog through the large breed side and then get upset that your teacup got trampled, or that every dog jumped on you as you walked through. Take them to the appropriate area unless your little doggie has a Chickenhawk mentality. This is a fun place for man's best friend most of the time. This place was a great dog park. I did not bring my dogs but the childrens area was my main area. I personally felt that the equipment was more for older kids and not so much for someone my sons age. He still had fun cause he had a slide and a swing and a lot of area to run around. read more

This is by far the best dog park in the Antelope Valley, or really could it be, the best in the entire world??? Across from Paraclete on M and 30th west (in front of the mansions) :) We took our baby here one time, but had to leave quickly because he just didn't get along well with the other dogs. It was about 8:00 on Sunday night, and I had just gotten off work, hubby picked me up and we were like, Hey, let's try out the dog park. Well, our puppy fiasco is all our own, and does not take away from the gorgeous dog park! It is equipped with play area for the kiddos, lots of gorgeous paved walkways, and for the people who have really trained dogs, and dogs who are FINE with others (not our pup) they have an off the leash area. What a gorgeous place for people to take their puppy and show em off, take em for a walk in a gorgeous place! GORGEOUS! -- Key word --- I love going here! read more

This is one of my favorite dog parks ever. Not only is the park grassy, but the dog areas are also grassy. So many dog parks are just dirt lots that make your pup dusty an dirty, but not this dog park. They have separate areas for the big and small dogs, so I never have to worry about my little pooch being trampled by a Great Dane....sadly, it's happened. LOL. I sometimes see small dogs in the big dog area, but owners do so at their own risk. In short, if you're looking for a nice dog park to spend your afternoons, this is by far the best in the Antelope Valley! read more

My first visit there was yesterday. Nice they have large and small dog separate areas for smaller more timid dogs. Pros - one bench and one table Some trees Water!!! Bless you! Con's - one bench and one table (could use a few more benches) Few trees - going to be miserably hot in summer Also, doesn't appear they water the grass much and it is dying. I realize we are in the middle of a severe drought but sod is expensive and it's dying from lack of water. A volunteer organization should donate some trees to the park (preferably ash or some fast growing low water trees)....We could start a tree fund? read more

Park is located across the street from Paraclete High School. Keep in mind that this street usually gets a little congested around when school starts and ends. PHS typically gets out early on Fridays, ~12:45 p.m. if memory serves me right. Parking lot is small, but I've never had trouble finding a spot. Clean, well-maintained playground. I have two major gripes though. The first one is that shade is practically non-existent around the play area. It's still a relatively new park so any trees nearby provide very little reprieve the relentless sun. I think the lack of shade is a major drawback for a place that sees its fair share of triple digit summer days. Second gripe is more specific to my family's needs but worth mentioning. I'm not a fan of the wood chips cushioning the playground floor. It attracts my toddler like a moth to a flame and she's at that stage where she wants to eat everything. I'd also rather have something like sand getting into her shoes rather than pieces of wood and possible splinters. But who knows, maybe wood is better than sand? After all, I have a degree in paranoid parenting, not in playground planning. What I do like about this park is that it has a huge wide grassy area to just run around. The park is very open so it's easy to keep an eye out for your kid. Mine also loves watching the dogs run around in the dog park. read more

We come here every time we come down to visit the in laws, to let our large German Shepherd burn some extra energy off. We've never had an issue with any other dogs or dog owners. In fact everyone we've met here has been so nice. The rest of the park is fabulous too with lush grass and a cool playground. Our kids love coming to play on the playground. I come for just the dog park. I usually come in the morning when there are a lot more dogs than during the day. Weekend mornings have even more people & dogs. I have 2 dogs, 15 lbs and 13 lbs, so I go in the small dog area. It is a hit and miss the type of dog owners you come across. Sometimes they are watching their dogs like hawks and cleaning up after them like they should and other times you might have someone else's dog jump in your lap or try to hump your leg. One lady brought in 3 dogs and refused to clean up after them. She claimed to have "back problems" and stated well that's what city workers get paid for anyways. Uh, no lady I don't want to step in poop plus there is a pooper scooper so you don't have to bend over at all. Another visit someone's dog spent almost the whole time barking. Another one kept jumping on the bench, all dirty getting mud everywhere. Both owners refused to take responsibility which is such a shame. The park is there for everyone to enjoy, not just them. Most dogs are nice and really friendly. Every now and then you will run into that one person and their dog who has to ruin it for you. I bring my dogs when they are due for a bath because they do get dirty at this park. They have water, bowls, and bags for you to clean up after your dogs. The parking lot is small but I've always managed to get a spot. read more

I love taking my two labradoodles to this park. Though my experience tonight was opposite of great. This is the first time I took them in the evening and a lady named Kat was extremely rude to me regarding my dogs. She tried to tell me that my non-neutered animal wasn't allowed and how it goes against park rules. No where in the rules does it state anything about dogs not being neutered other than not bringing female dogs who are in heat. This interaction was unappreciated and made me feel unwelcome. I'd recommend to everyone who brings their dog to this park to avoid the evenings around 5pm because Kat likes to cause issues. read more

There's water and plastic bags to pick up after your dogs.... watch out in the main park, some people don't pick up after their dogs. Nice clean park. Wonderful kids play area We go for the dog friendly areas. They have two huge fenced dog runs, one for large breeds, one for small breeds. Dogs can be off leash in the run area. There are often frisbees hanging on the fence for them to play with. And the sidewalk surrounding the park is a wonderful path to walk with our furry pals. There are bags located at several locations should your fuzzy friend feel the need to go. read more

Unfortunately some people don't understand the meaning of "SMALL DOG AREA", almost every time I go to this park there are LARGE DOGS in the small dog area!!! I've talked to the head of Parks and Recreation (Ramon) regarding this issue and suggested changing the signs to be more specific regarding dog size but there has been no changes! Thankfully, our community has kept this park a safe and clean place to enjoy a beautiful day. I have brought my dog and my granddaughter here on occasion and have always been greeted by friendly people enjoying the park with their family and pets as well. Dog waste bags are provided and for the most part it seems like people use them. Each time I come I can see that there are portions of the grass that are replaced to keep it fresh and beautiful. Great park. I only have one complaint. If you have a large dog he/she should go in the large dog area. Even if your dog is friendly, gets along with small dogs, played with small dogs as a puppy, is really a small dog at heart, etc. The most well intentioned large dog could easily trample a small dog by accident. I think this is pretty obvious but still people bring big dogs into the small dog section. This is a fabulous park but it took a while for me to find it because my GPS system sent me to 20th Street for some reason. To spare you similar pain, let me just tell you the address is 2850 West Avenue L-12, Lancaster, CA. Also the link Yelp gives you is a dead link. This is basically a HUGE emerald green park full of trees with a sidewalk that loops around it in an oval. Joggers and dog walkers go in laps around the sidewalk. There are also two fenced in dog areas where dogs are allowed off leash, one for big dogs and one for little dogs. There's a playground next to it where little kids can go on a slide and jungle gym and stuff. It is clean and well lit, and there are dog waste bags restocked daily so you can clean up after your pet. read more

I take my JRT/Frenchie mix here every week. I have developed a decent bond with the people in the small dog park. There are sometimes issues with the gardeners skipping or having us leave the park to do their jobs. This is a place for dogs. The small dog park has grass and mud spots. The bigger dog park is almost all dirt. The outside grass always looks super nice and the park is clean. If it were closer to me, I would be here all the time. read more
