First, the owners are some of the kindest, most thoughtful hosts you could hope to meet. You can feel how much they care about their community the moment you walk in. They've also made real efforts to make the space accessible for different bodies, which is something that far too few restaurants consider. That level of intention and hospitality truly stands out. And then there's the food -- absolutely phenomenal. Every dish feels intentional, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Standouts for me: Shrimp Toast - the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp, rich, and balanced. Duck - deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection. Ribs - tender, savory, and incredibly satisfying. Char Siu - sweet, smoky, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Eggplant - unbelievably delicious and a must-order. Monkey King is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Amazing food, genuine hospitality, and a space that feels welcoming and thoughtful. Highly recommend supporting this gem.

Even the bathroom was impressively nice, which always says a lot about a restaurant's attention to detail. The food and drinks were on point. The crab fried rice, fried shrimp toast, rib lamb were all flavorful and well-prepared. One standout for me was the spring rolls--they were so good, crispy and packed with flavor. The drinks were also great, making the overall dining experience even better. Between the great food, nice atmosphere, and convenient location, it's definitely a place I'd go back to again. Alexa greeted us and took our order she's amazing! If you're planning a date night or a nice dinner out, Monkey King is a solid choice.

It's my favorite place to bring people to share an amazing meal and they always love it too. Mimi is always super friendly and kind and the space is very inviting! The crispy octopus was so tender and flavorful, you can taste the love in it. Usually not one to order deserts but we got to try their mango sticky r-ice cream and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I felt like I was eating my SEA childhood as an ice cream. 10/10 please stop by if you live in NYC or visiting!! You won't be disappointed.

It was all so delicious. Those crab fried bao buns were heavenly. The bone marrow was decadent. The rice with the egg yolk! So rich and yummy. I think Driftwood is a hidden gem, and it could really soar to new heights if some more modern and chic touches of decor are added.

And this Asian fusion spot stands up among others in Queens Blvd. First it was super cute since. Big leather booths, with dim lighting. The menu went on for day and was pretty intimidating. They had katsu and curry which I almost went for but the spicy coconut noodles were calling my name. I am getting ahead of myself. That was the main event. Before that we had rock shrimp, which were HUGE. The spicy mayo made my nose run. I wasn't made about it. The star of the night was the dinosaur egg appetizer. Spicy tuna and salmon hugged by avocado and surrounded by shaved carrot. This literary was the best of the night. We got the Pacific roll, and although good it did not live up to our massive dinosaur egg that exceeded our expectations. Shout out to the servers for not rushing us out. Also the bathroom was solid! Drunken Noodles (5/5): Lots of spice and flavors. Very different than your standard Thai-drunken noodles, in a very good way. The chicken had a nice lemongrass flavor to it and the cuts of chicken thigh was juicy. Chicken bun (noodle bowl) (2/5): Very meh as there was basically no flavor. Customer service---It was okay, nothing standout but not bad either. Seating----A couple of small outdoor tables (which filled up quickly), one long table, about six tables for two, and a larger rectangular table that can fit around 8-10 people. Bathroom--Clean with a nice, nature-inspired aesthetic. Pork Sisig--This was the highlight for me. I loved the mix of onions, chili, and egg with the tender meat. The fat was a bit gooey, and it seemed like there might've been some cheese mixed in with the rice, which added an interesting twist. Overall, really flavorful. Calamari--Crispy and paired well with the sweet chili sauce, which complemented the savory flavor. That said, the coating was a bit thick and uneven in parts--something I tend to notice since I often order calamari as an appetizer. lemon juice--Super refreshing. I was tempted to try the Thai tea too, but I have an early commitment tomorrow, so I'll save that for next time. Overall: A decent experience. Not perfect, but definitely worth trying--especially for the sisig.
