I went on three ghost tours of Tampa, and this one was by far the best! The stories were intriguing and the buildings we went into were creepy! I really enjoyed my experience at the ghost tour with my S.O. I wanted to give a shout out to the tour guide, Steve as he was very kind and he really seemed to care about the well being of the guests. The tour begins in the Ybor City Cigar shop, and at first I was a little confused because I didn't know where to go to check in. No worries -Steve came and announced his presence and let me know all the necessary check in information. He led us through the streets of Ybor and gave us the history of Ybor City throughout its mob filled, and predominately Cuban era. The tour is more on the informative side than it is supernatural, so keep that in mind if you have a short attention span. But there is a part where you do a short investigation with the temperature radars. Also a forewarning!!! The tour is outside, and also goes inside one building that has stagnant air so please, please, please, make sure you are properly hydrated! I passed out from the heat, and this was at night. We weren't even moving much, but in the summer months Florida is engulfed in a thick blanket of humidity. If you are prone to passing out keep water on you! Steve was great and even the other tour guests helped me out and ensured my safety. The end of the tour was a great relief as we went into a building that has air conditioning, discounted food, and water. But I thought I'd let people know so they can make sure they don't end up like me! I plan on going back to do the tour again to hear what I missed, but only in the spring or winter months as with this summer heat it's, too much for me personally. read more

Steve was the absolute best! My friend, Lexy, and I have been on many a ghost tours and this was by far the most paranormal activity either of us has experienced. The history of Ybor was a nice intriguing touch keeping our focused locked in at all points. The Cuban club is def full of spirits, you can really feel them when you came in and I was able to capture a few orbs on film. Def a must for all ages if you are in Ybor city! My family and I had an amazing tour. Our tour guide Max is a historian and you can tell he loves his job. Very knowledgeable and kept us all very entertained. I learned a lot of history from max. My 7 and 12 year old son attention span is short, and he was able to keep them engaged. The tour delivered. Captured some amazing shots. When we first arrived I felt something on my arm. No one was behind me. After that it just got better and better as the tour continued. Highly recommend this tour even if you do not believe in ghost. Definite MUST if you're in Tampa. The Official Ybor Ghost Tour lived up to the hype and then some. Greg eloquently shared the intriguing history about Ybor's vibrant past. We got to use an EMF reader at the 4th most haunted place in the US. Everyone's meters were going off. AWESOME! One lady had to leave and wait for her family outside cuz she couldn't stay in the building any longer. Another lady got some really interesting pics of anomolies, orbs, mists, etc on her iPhone. Last night, my boyfriend and I happened to stumble upon the Ybor Ghost Tour while checking the local things to do while we waited for our drinks at another local find, Ulele. We checked another ghost tour and it didn't seem to have great reviews. One of the reviewers directed us to YGT, and we are so glad that they did! Max was our tour guide and aside from ghost hunting, he was a complete plethora of local Ybor City knowledge. You can tell that he has an absolute passion for the City and it comes across during his presentation of the history of this beautiful place. I, for one, appreciate the backstory of all the spots we visited from the founding family history, to the mob-style take over. The timeline was a great backdrop and his presentation of it was key! When we got to the spot we were investigating (I don't want to give too much away) I was impressed by his request for respect for the spirits who remain. There was no hoax/gag/cheesy pop-up/out at you gimmicks that would deter from the vibes of the location. The historical site we got to investigate is a beauty to behold in it's own right, and if you're at all a sensitive, you'll feel the buzzing all around you. I got some great photos of what appear to be apparitions and I will upload them when I return to Cali. The EMF reader I had went off most of the night. It seems that my boyfriend wasn't my only date for the evening! I booked this tour for me and my husband in October. My husband did not want to go because he does not believe in ghosts and thought it would be stupid. But he actually enjoyed learning about the history of ybor city and he admitted to having a good time. I had a great time! I thought our host was fun, interesting, and the sites were neat. I should start off by saying my husbands does note believe in ghosts and will always find some explanation for the un-explainable however we both had a lot of fun on this tour. We did this tour on Halloween night to add a little spook to our Holiday. The tour met with our Host, Greg, at a cigar shop. I wasn't a fan of the second hand smoke while waiting for it to begin so we waited on the sidewalk out front. This did not prove to be a problem as Greg walked around the entire building and outside asking everyone if they were there for the tour. We purchased our tickets on their website and never actually spoke to anyone but they had all of our information. Once the tour started, I was a little surprised by how fast we walked through the city. I was expecting a leisurely stroll and this was not the case...good thing I had been on the treadmill all week and was ready to speed walk! ( I have short legs so I have to walk twice as fast to keep up with tall people lol). We didn't walk far but learned a lot of history about Ybor that I did not know. Bieng born and raised in Tampa I usually know more than other people about Tampa history but apparently I did not know the deep dark secrets of Ybor city! The history lesson alone was worth the tour but things got really interesting and spooky in the Cuban club. One of our tour mates claimed to be scratched by ghosts during the tour! Apparently the Cuban club does not like Italian visitors...so being Italian, I was pretty darn scared. My husband and I will argue all day if she was really scratched or whether or not our EMF readers were really seeing ghosts or magnets in the wall and if all the orbs we saw in the camera were ghosts or not, but we both had a blast. Overall a really great tour, they just lose a star for the second hand smoke. I do not recommend for small children because it is very very spooky. read more

I love to watch ghost hunting and paranormal type shows on TV. I enjoy it. My husband is a huge skeptic. When I told him I wanted to go on this ghost tour, he humored me and went along. Joe was our tour leader that night. He was thorough, well-versed, and interesting. Joe presented the legends and historical facts of the city, adding his own personal experiences to the mix. Although no one in our relatively small group actually saw a ghost, we each experienced anomalies of cold spots and wildly-beeping EMF meters. Having done a few ghost tours in other cities, I didn't have great expectations. Our group went in with an open mind, and Charlie did not disappoint!! We had a fantastic time, and Charlie gave us 2+ hours of so much history of Ybor City that our heads were spinning!! It was all very interesting, and we felt like we were transported back in time to the days of the old Ybor City when it was ruled by Mr Ybor, and the many people who walked these streets. Visited September 2013 My husband & I had bought a Living Social Coupon for this thinking it would be something different to do one weekend. At the last minute we decided to take his 8 year old son too. We got there about 30 minutes early & was promptly greeted by Greg, the tour guide. We hung out until the rest of the group arrived. We were on an extremely large group (the Living Social deal is about to end) so I was a little concerned that it wouldn't be as fun, boy was I wrong! He told many fascinating stories with lots of history. My stepson got a little bored a couple of times but held up pretty good for the most part. We got to go into 2 buildings & got to use the EMF detectors. The Cuban club was pretty cool & we were in the building for a while. I thought the tour was 2 hours long but our lasted about 3 hours. This tour is well worth the money! If you are looking for something fun to do you should check this out! read more

Booked tour on Friday night per email stating they were almost sold out. Coming from Orlando took the almost 2 hour drive. My husband and two friends also booked the tour and decided to arrive early to have dinner and drinks. We arrived at 6pm for dinner in order for our 9pm tour. Ghost Tours called us at 8:40 to tell us that a party was planned at the Cuban Club and the tour would be post posted until 11:30 or at another date and time. Mind you we had already had sitter situated for specific time as well the drive back home. They also stated NO REFUNDS!!!! FYI!!! I called the credit card company to dispute this. Not very good customer service. They stated they could walk us around the building and give us a tour and education until the Cuban Club was available. This was not optimal for us as we did not want to be wasting time walking around outside a building which seemed to me as wasted time. Never will I digest or even try to book with this company. Sad state of affairs considering the reviews they had prior to us booking. read more

I purchased a Groupon for the Ybor City Ghost Tour after checking with the company website that the date we wanted was available. I immediately attempted to reserve a spot after purchase and the website wouldn't accept the voucher number. I called the next day and was told there was no space available. I explained the situation, that I was traveling to Tampa for the weekend and could only use the Groupon on Friday or Saturday. The "scheduling department" said they would pass my message on to the owner and he'd return my call. He never did. I called back and was told by the same "scheduling department" that the Groupon's are only for Sun- Thurs. This isn't advertised anywhere on the Groupon. Obviously, I wouldn't have purchased it given my trip timing had that been specified. I was told by Amy that she was instructed to not pass along any more messages to the owner and that if I had an issue, I should contact Groupon for a refund. Terrible way to do business. read more

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love ghost tours. I've done several in St. Pete, St. Augustine and Atlanta. So when I found this one through Groupon I was extremely excited. But it was not meant to be. After calling the telephone number and being advised I had to send an email with my Groupon voucher number and exchanging about 5 emails with someone named "Alex" my groupon voucher was redeemed and I received nothing in exchange for my $25.00. The day of what I thought I had reservations I texted to find the meeting location and advised I didn't have a reservation. You can imagine I was upset. I'd been looking forward to this for several weeks and my daughter was attending with me. So the last email received was two flyers, not my "e ticket" and then after several exchanges via texted I was blocked. I didn't use profanity merely expressed my disappointment and advised I would be providing a unfavorable review. It should take an act of Congress to make a reservation and actually receive your ticket to attend. I understand that its a family owned business, but at this point I guess it is starting to say a lot about the business. read more
