Fix To Go's recent Yelp reviews were very good! So we quickly changed plans with AAA, and called ahead, explaining to Manager Bacardi the situation. He was straightforward with us, agreed with me on my guess (it was the starter), and gave us an accurate quote. Barcadi's team quickly sourced and replaced the starter, and noticed the brakes were in desperate need of pad replacement. The total price was not bad at all! Soon we were confidently back on the road with new starter and brake pads. We are so thankful to the team at Fix To Go Auto Care Center for being honest and skillful mechanics in our time of need.

Sometimes heroes have wrenches, integrity and really big hearts…read more I want to give a gazillion shout-outs to Mike, his son, Xavier and their incredible team at A&A Auto Repair. I've been going to them for at least 10 or more years since Tamborello's Ybor shop closed up. Like Joe Tamborello was, Mike and his A&A team are straight shooters and so seriously fair, talented, compassionate and reasonable. I've limped in there many times over the years for small things like a hitch-hiking tire nail or a screaming dash light. And then there's the larger things ... This morning, it was mischievous tail lights and my driver's side door handle that broke. Who knew they were made of plastic? Besides the mechanical genius of the team, A&A is a full-stop collision repair shop with body work, window tinting etc ... They are always there for our Palmetto Beach and Ybor City communities, as well as clients spanning both sides of Tampa Bay. A cool thing is that if you opt to wait for your repairs, the office is a nostalgic museum of auto-related memorabilia. I've studied that office many times over the years and only today, did I see the old phone booth right next to me. A&A Auto Repair is located at 1207 N 19th St on the corner of Adamo and 19th in Ybor City. Across the street is the massive Citgo with a breakfast/lunch cafe and any refreshment you might desire while you wait. They are open M-F; (813) 247-3384 and are just good humans! ~ Kim DeFalco

I was also having issues with my other vehicle with the A/C, brought that in the same week to get both cars back to normal. We told them it could be the compressor. They stated it was a fan that went out. Then a couple days later the car still wasn't blowing cold air. Brought it back and they THEN said it was the compressor. We fixed it and now when the car is idle, the A/C doesn't blow cold air. Basically the car has to be running at a certain speed for it to blow cold air. I'm guessing the condenser is the issue now but you would think as an auto repair place they would check THE WHOLE SYSTEM. Almost $2000 later, one car is still making the same noise and the other's A/C isn't working. The people are nice, I'll give them that. It's so hard to find a good mechanic. I definitely had high hopes.

This place was recommended to us by a friend who said, "these guys (the mechanics) really know what…read morethey're talking about" and he was right. After having gone to a dealership and told my car was going to be pretty much inoperable because of the transmission needing to be replaced outright, I was beginning to panic. We reached out to this shop over the phone to just schedule getting my vehicle looked at to see what repairs needed to be done and of the transmission could simply be repaired (or needed to be completed replaced). Luckily when we came in the mechanic was thorough and we found out that the transmission was fine and would be for a good while still. The next order of business would be to get my AC fixed by getting a quote for that. The inspection and ac repair cost me about 900 dollars (give ir take). But they also did some other minor repairs just because, such as fixing the fuses in my car to get the lights working, air in the tires, car realignment, tires rotated and air put in. We had a short time frame to try to get the ac fix and there was some issues finding the right sized pieces to fix it, but after the first, second and third try, she was as good as new. The front desk was also very nice when I had any questions and worked with my schedule to get this all done. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs repairs on their vehicle and is looking for a reputable mechanic that won't price gauge you for themselves.

My transmission had went out and I had it towed to his shop. He told me that it needed to be rebuilt and that the differential had went out in it. He charged me $1,900.00 dollars to do the job. He did not rebuild my transmission he put a used transmission in it from a salvage yard or just used the same one from my car and added a part to it. It was also leaking oil from the back of the engine. I ask him if he had changed the rear main seal in it because he had to have seen the oil leak when he took out the transmission. He said that he had not. He did retake out the transmission again and said that he had changed the seal. And he said that he saw something else and plugged it. He said that it was still leaking oil though. The area that he plugged looked a mess and you could see exactly where the leak was coming from. He didn't fix the leak and he put it back together for a second time and gave it back to me. I took my car to my other mechanic and found all of this mess! Yeah, the car is running but he did not fix it or rebuilt the transmission as he charged me! I also asked to see the receipts for the so called parts he bought and he refused!!! That right there said it ALL! This was a half ass job that he did to me. I am warning all future customers to NOT bring your car here because you will get screwed over. Definitely do your research and find a trust worthy transmission mechanic. I will never go to this place again and I will be filing a lawsuit against him! Because this is unacceptable!
