I popped two of my tire in an accident recently and I came to Discount Tire Town because it was the closest one to my house. I am a broke 20-year-old college student who doesn't know a thing about cars; let alone tires. I was afraid that if I went there alone I would be taken advantage of, but that was not the case. Miguel helped me find tires that would work for my car without breaking my bank. They even let me use their phone because I left mine at home. I was so stressed out because I didn't know what to do, I ended up starting to cry and Miguel began to console me and it made me feel so much better about the entire situation. For someone who just moved to the city alone, Tire Town really made me feel like I could call Tampa my new home. Thank you guys for everything, Shelby read more

Six years ago, I wrote my very first review of this place. And I can't say, anything has changed. Which is a great thing. Still the only place I go for my tires, still the best quality, still fast efficient and friendly service. I get sad when I go and the GSD pups aren't there, but that's the only thing. There's not many places you can rely on consistently theoughout the years but this is definitely one of them read more

Good. Affordable. Fast. Would come back again. Got my tires rotated. Quality service. Recommend.

Monty and his son are honest, reliable and more than competent! They specialize in Tires and brakes. Keeping it simple and unbelievably fast, efficient and reasonable! The price for two tires and brakes was $900 less than the estimate at Tire Kingdom! They have my business from now on! read more

We called around many tires places for prices on a certain tire. They were able to save us over $500 over A major tire company. Same tires!! They have great customer service and super fast! Won't upsell anything but will take great care of you! read more

This establishment is an outdoor tire shop. There are signs warning people not to spit, but at the end of the day if you need your tire fixed, they may be the best deal in town. My wife had a flat tire, thanks to Yelp I searched for a local tire ship, and last minute on a Saturday they were willing to patch the tire for $15 dollars. These guys mean business, they cracked a few jokes about the fact that it would take 3 hours, but it only took 15 minutes. I had a great time getting our tire patched and they deserve 5 stars. Thanks guys for doing a great job and for a no BS experience. read more

Why 5 stars? Because this process could not possibly have been easier. --- --- --- Okay, I guess it *could* have been easier. The guys who work here could have come to my house and paid me for the right to fix my tire. But that's the only way. My tire light had been coming on every week or two, which would result in me feeling up each tire with air until the light went back off. I wasn't even sure which tire it was. So after it came on again, I took it to a tire shop near my house and the guy identified the problem tire and said the tread was too low to patch it, so it would cost me about $100 for a new one. He also said that it would be about 2.5 hours before they could have it ready. That just felt a bit off to me, so I went to get a 2nd opinion at Discount Tire Town since they had such amazing reviews. Here's how that played out: I pulled up, gave them the story and they started checking the pressure of each tire. They quickly identified which one was the problem tire and the owner (I presume) asked if I just wanted air in it or if I wanted to fix it. I said - fix it, if you can. He nodded and put it up on the jack. I went over and sat down on one of the chairs and pulled up an article on my phone to read while I waited. I literally got through two short paragraphs, when the owner walked back over to me and said, "It's gonna be 8 dollars, will that be cash or charge?" $8 instead of $100. 3 minutes instead of 2.5 hours. Hilarious. Almost too good to be true, but I am a first-hand witness to this sorcery. read more

I accidentally ran across the business several years back, and have been a returning customer ever since. AMAZING and reliable service ! Monty and his wonderful crew, Jeremy and Miguel and son, have been outstanding, prompt, consistent. During last 9 months of Covid, I've had the unfortunate string of tire woes that Monty and his crew promptly and safely took care of, literally got me back on the road, every single time ! A family owned business, what a kind-soul and hard worker Monty is, many thanks and appreciation ! - The red car read more

High quality used tires and even higher quality service provided by the team at Discount Tire Town. If you're looking for affordable tires and service in the Tampa area, I HIGHLY recommend Discount Tire Town. I was able to get nearly new 19" tires for approx. $200. In and out in less than 30 minutes and treated like a VIP. I would recommend Discount Tire Town over any other place in the area...if you're an hour away or even more, yes, it's WORTH THE DRIVE. Note that I came here after a very, very poor experience at Doug's Used Tires (do NOT waste your time, energy, or safety at Doug's used tires). read more

Monty is one of the most honest people I have dealt with. When I first came to his shop, I had a chunk missing from the sidewall of my tire and thought it would need replaced. I called the shop and they quoted me a price for the tire and had me bring it in. Upon arriving, Monty promptly told me that the tire was structurally sound and didn't need to be replaced. He explained that while he could sell me a tire, none of the fabrics in the tire were showing and I didn't need one. This was probably 4 years ago now and I've been coming to this shop ever since for everything tire and brake related. I've had several tires replaced at a time and one set of brakes done and have never been at Discount Tire Town for longer than 20 minutes. You can't get that service elsewhere. I've also been turned away for services I didn't need on several occasions. As a college student, Monty warned during a tire change that my brakes would be due in approximately 3 months. 3 months later, I came to the shop only to be told that my brakes were still good and to come back again in several months. After doing this a couple of times, my brakes were sufficiently worn down to warrant replacing them. I mentioned to Monty one time that the reason I came to him in the first place was because his reviews were good and people thought him honest and he said "I try to treat all of my customers the way I would treat family." I have now been to Monty's on numerous occasions and have never had a bad encounter. He even plugged my tire for free and was able to get me back on the road in time to not be late for work! I have also sent friends to discount tire town and they have had similar experiences. I had a friend who was particular about a set of brakes he wanted for his car and so Monty agreed to install the ones he found online for a $50 service charge. Once again with almost zero wait time. Don't let the lack of fancy signs out front fool you, discount tire town is an honest, local business. read more

The absolute best experience I could have asked for! I about damn near cried when I found a HUGE screw wedged in my tire tread. From past experiences, dealerships and repair shops have put me in a place where I could only buy a new tire (if the others were new-ish) or replace all 4 with having a screw/nail of this size. I read the reviews on Discount Tire Town and decided to give it a go since it's in my neighborhood. I figured in the worst case they could sell me a used tire that would hold me over until I get a new car. I pulled up around noon on a weekday and the gentlemen working were so quick to help me. They plugged my tire in about 5 minutes flat, right in front of me. No line, no wait. Upon asking how much I owed them....$5!!!!! I had to double that for the kindness they bestowed upon me. Excellent place to go if you find yourself needing some help with your tires. At no point did these great guys try to sell me anything. They are a legit business, operating in people's best interest. I will 100% give them my business next time I need tires or have an issue with mine. I wish I could give them extra stars! read more

This shop was great until Monty retired. The new owner is a jerk and won't honor any warranty or free tire rotations that were promised when I bought a set of tires last year. read more

Don't be fooled by the look of this place from the street. It truly has a well worn appearance but that from all the hard work that gets done at this old gas station turned into a tire place. This is truly a great place for your tire service and repair. I stopped here on a recomendation from a friend to have a trie patched and was surprised that they only charged me $10. A patch usually runs around $20 so I was happy to pass on my savings to the gentlemen who did the work. read more

Great prices, quick and friendly service! As others have mentioned, this place is no frills, due to covid-19 you can't wait inside but they setup a little outdoor waiting area under a tent which is much appreciated. I was in and out in well under an hour with brand new tires much cheaper than anyone I called. This place is my new goto for tires! read more

Read the great reviews. Called Jeremy and he was very helpful. He had to get the tires so agreed I would stop by the next morning. Under 25 minutes to replace all 4 tires on my Jeep. Great price and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend, the reviews don't lie. read more

Miguel was awesome! I stopped by to get a nail removed/tire plugged - dealership was quoting me $35, Miguel charged me $8. He gave me some great advice on how much wear I have left, that it would be another 8 months to a year before replacing. Super nice and fast -- was in and out of there in just a few minutes. Will be sure to return when it's time to replace my tires! Thanks Yelpers for your previous reviews! Updated: Been twice now, always super helpful, fair pricing, hardly any wait, and friendly! read more

I almost never write reviews but this business is uniquely worthy of a recommendation. I called around late Friday pm looking to see where I could get 2 tires ASAP. Found DTT on my maps app and gave them a call..... I showed up Saturday when asked expecting a 3-5hr wait and planning to uber home. To my surprise and in spite of there being two cars waiting ahead of me when I arrived I was on my way 24 minutes later after being charged to the penny what I'd been told the night before. Thanks guys for giving me my Saturday back.... And the fair pricing. read more

Prices that are competitive with buying online and fast service for mounting and balancing. Don't let appearances fool you - these guys run the best independent tire shop in town and are far better than any of the chains. read more

As others have said, don't judge by the absence of neon and 'bling' found at other, larger branded chain tire stores. This place is no frills, and no lip. Just fast, friendly, expert tire service!! I had extensively, and I mean 'EX-TEN-SIVE-LY, researched pricing and associated monting & balancing costs on the exact tires I wanted, from them likes of online tire purveyors TireBuyer and TireRack to even Amazon. To those prices, I added the cost to mount & balance the tires, along with Shipping (TireRack), and lifetime tire rotation (when an extra charge). I then shopped many of the local branded chain tire stores as well as independent local stores taking into consideration each company's reputation for customer experience delivered and commitment to service. Then, based on the reviews of other Yelppers, I called Monty at Discount Tire Town. He ordered the exact tires I wanted and had them waiting when I showed up the next day. From the time of my arrival to the time Monty & team sent me on my way: 20 minutes!!! 20 MINUTES!! Unlike every other tire store I have experienced over the years, there was NO waiting in a dirty waiting area with spotty WIFI, crappy magazines, daytime soap operas or False News Newtorks yammering on TV as you sip charred coffee brewed earlier in the day. NOPE!! None of that here!! I just stood outside, chatted with the guys as they took the old tires off, put the new balanced tires on. It was like a fast, efficient, friendly synchronized swim. What I found here: Just the exact tires I wanted, mounted & balanced, PLUS, Monty offered me no-cost tire rotation of my new tires every 5,000 miles to maximize the life of my tires. Plus, Monty even confirmed that I did NOT need the alignment the other guy told me I needed and he even showed me proof of his claim by showing me how the tires were wearing: Perfectly. All factors considered, I feel Monty & team offered the BEST VALUE of the many, many other tire purveyors I shopped. PLUS, the best part is, I got to spend my money LOCALLY with a really honest and friendly business owner committed to providing his customers with a great tire value, delivered FAST, with no lip--just a great, friendly attitude. Found here: Unexpected delight!! Isn't that really what customers want, after all?! Monty (and team) and Discount Tire Town is my tire place for life!! And, I've already told 2 others about this gem, and it's only been 30 minutes since I left. Thanks, Guys. Loving the new tires! See you again in 5,000 miles!! read more

Looked around online for new tires, and saw this place had great reviews so I thought I'd give it a shot. For a brand new set of 4 tires for my car, it was only $412 for everything. Service charges, taxes, etc. I thought that was a good price. Everybody here was super nice, and I originally went in on Tuesday afternoon, but my order hadn't arrived so they couldn't get it done then. I understand that it was out of their control, and they told me to come back first thing the next day and after only about 45min I was on my way. Great service. read more

I have now bought 16 tires from Monty at discount tire town, and will purchase 4 more this month. Although I live in south St Pete he is worth the drive. A: no BS pricing. He says $120 a tire, your bill is $480 and then sales tax. No valve stem fee, shop charges, environmental impact none sense. Up from and honest. B: this is clearly HIS place. Not a national franchise. Support your local businessman. C: fast. Fast. Fast. 4 tires removed mounted and balanced in less than an hour. D: no hassles with additional upgrades. Because he gives you included lifetime rotation and patch service. read more

I got here, on a Saturday. They charged me $75-150 less than what I was quoted elsewhere for new tires. I called ahead to make sure they had my tires. They ordered them, and said they be here by 10. After the wonderful experience from my previus visit, i went in this morning to get my tires checked for low tire pressure.
