What is not to love about Paint Nite? You get to paint beautiful pictures (with no previous painting experience) and you get to drink your beverage of choice, which only helps the creative process! I had originally made my reservation for a different painting, but it was cancelled. That's fine with me because there are so many different paintings to choose from and ones that I want to paint. I emailed Paint Nite with my new selection and they re-reserved myself and my friend. It was very easy. When you arrive, you give the assistant your name and they give you a smock. I highly recommend that you arrive early because you will want to sit somewhere with good lighting and seats go fast. Typically, I arrive at least 20 minutes ahead of time. There are always at least a handful of people that have already arrived and selected their seats. One of my previous Paint Nites, I was one of the last people to arrive and I had to sit where there wasn't a lot of lighting. It makes the experience a little more challenging. Additionally, arriving early gives you time to order a drink prior to starting. The painting itself is very easy. The instructors are so helpful in breaking down the steps so that you have a masterpiece when you are finished. My friends were very concerned because, like myself, they had no painting experience. They even contemplated bringing a pencil to outline everything! That is not necessary. You can't really see it, but most of the time you draw shapes and connect them. Super easy! You can also change up the color scheme or modify your painting how you want. This is such a great experience. I have gone with a group of people and I have also gone by myself. I always have so much fun. I recommend that everyone should try this at least once.

Fun and inviting dining room of the Park Plaza Gardens restaurant

Such a fun experience! Our Paint Nite location was the Park Plaza Gardens restaurant in Winter Park, and our instructor was the charming and funny Emma. We were provided with all the materials, including the paint smock. I have no idea how to paint, but the instructions were clear and simple. Emma have through a microphone as she painted along, which definitely helped. The room itself was beautiful. Emma and her assistant were super friendly, walked the room to offer guidance and encouragement. As the evening progressed, it would have been nice to have a bit more lighting. We were provided with menus. Some folks ate, most everyone had drinks. The instructors do appreciate a tip at the end. Participants assist with the cleanup process by turning in their supplies at the front table. While my painting will probably end up behind my sofa or under my bed, I am already looking forward to the next Paint Nite event!!

All the supplies were nicely set up 30 minutes before start time

Went to my first paint nite event tonight! Perfect girls night!! My friends and I purchased a groupon for the company, then went to their site and chose the date, location and painting that worked for all of us. They offer classes all over Orange, Osceola and Seminole county. This one was hosted at Harry Buffalos and the instructor was Megan Macgregor. They provide a canvas, plate with paints, brushes and smock at each seat. The instructor has a completed painting set up and then she leads the class step by step on a new one, while speaking over a wireless headset. She also walked around and gave helpful hints. We took a ten minute break halfway through and the whole process took just over 2 hours. There were also two helpers walking around giving you fresh supplies and taking pictures which were uploaded to Facebook within an hour of me being home! Some tips: -arrive about 30 minutes early, especially if you want to save seats for a group -bring a few dollars cash for tips for the instructors after, I wish I had known this ahead of time because they did an awesome job - there isn't much room on the table with the art supplies set up, so don't expect to eat while you're doing this

I did two from Groupon. One in February at Wine Scene in WPB and one in March at Purgreens in Boca. I love Wine Scene and it was a great location for the class. Small class but was a nice night outside and a fun hour of planting. The one at Purgreens was outside as well and had a large group. The class was almost 25mins late because 2 ppl hadn't arrived and so I started because I already had an idea of what to do and I only had 2hour parking. So I went ahead and she wasn't too happy about that - oops. I really like my terrariums. They're growing!

I recently surprised my wife with reservations for Paint Nite (this particular class taking place at the Renaissance Hotel across from Sea World). We both really enjoyed it. The instructor was clear and helpful and had a good sense of humor. She'll even tell you your painting looks good, when it clearly does not. The bar at the Renaissance took drink orders throughout the event, and they offered food although I don't know if anyone ordered anything -- the space between the easels was pretty small and didn't give us a whole lot of room. We had such a good evening that we were planning the next time almost immediately. Check Groupon before getting tickets, and plan ahead -- some of the classes can sell out pretty far in advance. We had only one complaint, which was not really the fault of Paint Nite: the Renaissance Hotel lobby is naturally lit, and it started to get dark less than halfway into the event. By the time we reached the halfway mark, everyone was using their cellphone lights to see what they were doing. Lights were set up on tripods to help out, but they were far too few in number and too low in power. If this venue continues to be in the rotation, I'd recommend that Paint Nite invest in more and better lighting to allow painters to see what colors they're mixing up. :)

It was my friends birthday and wanted to keep it pretty low key. She decided on Paint Nite being held at Bar Louie. I've done something like this in the past and I must say that my experience was very different. Although our instructor was good and informative, I found myself lost on a few steps. Sometimes it was hard to hear( no fault of his), the room was dark (again not his fault), and when he would show the steps on the canvas, those of us on my side of the room couldn't see what he did because he would inadvertently block our view as he painted. During one of our breaks, I walked up to the bar to order a drink and was told that we have a server. We had been there for 45 minutes already and never saw them. I guess someone went to get it because all of a sudden he was here. After it was all said and done, our paintings didn't come out as bad as we thought. It was a fun time and we had a blast with the new friends we met at our table. I just think that maybe if it would have been held at another venue, the experience could have been better.

My empty canvas.

While Chef Mark was a pleasant and personable individual, this was absolutely not a cooking class…read more-- it was a demonstration at best. The "class" was held in the middle of a busy pub where music was playing, customers were talking and laughing, and people were actively playing darts and pool. There was no microphone, so we could barely hear the instructor. Calling this a class under those conditions is completely misleading. We were expected to roll dough on small high-top pub tables, which was impractical and uncomfortable. Due to the setup, we couldn't even clearly see the sauce being made. There was no structured, hands-on instruction -- just trying to catch bits and pieces of what was happening in a loud bar environment. To make matters worse, the finished pasta was served in a small Styrofoam bowl with a plastic fork -- not even a napkin provided. The dish itself was bland and underwhelming. This experience was given as a gift, which makes it even more embarrassing. It felt disorganized, misleading and like a complete waste of money. A cooking class should be interactive, educational and conducted in an environment where participants can actually hear and learn -- not in the middle of a noisy pub during business hours. Extremely disappointing. Not at all what we expected. Update: Received no direct message

An egg or two. Some oil. (was supposed to be salt too, but the instructor forgot that) Instructions:   Make a well in the flour and mix in the egg and oil as needed.   Flatten it out and make whatever shape you want.    Whoops:  just revealed all the secrets and techniques of the class.   Of the dozen or so people there, not sure anyone made anything remotely edible.   Half the people didn't even attempt to boil their lumps of flattened flour.    But if they did, there was some jarred sauce and kraft shredded cheese to have with it.   (Ad mentioned making a sauce. I didn't even get to open the jar!) I really just don't even know what to make of this "class."    I put class in quotes as it was held in a bar with no cooking utensils, no recipe, no real instruction. I guess think of it as a spam phone call.  Sure, when you get that call you can buy an extended warranty, but would you?   There are some good cooking classes available in Orlando.   This is not one of them.

Sonja explained the process simply in the way only an expert could. I needed advice on my earrings, and she helped me add a pop of green. Sonja was very informative, friendly, and encouraging. She managed people working on different steps or different speeds well. I never felt rushed during the process. Some people were back at class for a second time, and there were a lot of new people. There were eight people in this class. You got to make two necklaces, two pairs of earrings, or one of each. I made one of each. She had gold and silver colors. I only looked at silver, but she had teardrop earrings and pendants and circle earrings and pendants, some small and some large. For the decoration, she had a lot of different flowers, leaves, gems, and glitter, what looked like stickers but were probably not, and other items. She let us take pictures of the products she used in the workshop (ex. the brand of resin she used). It's a lovely shop with a lot of lovely products to buy but also no pressure to buy. I did end up buying some coin dishes for my desk though and a book. You can bring food, and I did. Autumn and Ro is located between Florida Wax House and Glass Orlando, and there is free parking in the back. They're right across from Santiago's Bodega. 10/10 would recommend. They also do a bunch of other classes as well.

I will begin by saying that our wedding was nothing short of a fairy tale. Although we found the…read moreperfect venue which happened to be on a beach, I still wanted a glamorous semi-formal Disney Princess-type of wedding. We live on the East coast of FL so having a wedding in Bradenton Beach was a destination wedding for us and although I had accomplished some things on my own, I knew I would need more help. I described what type of wedding I was imagining to our venue wedding coordinator and he pointed me to Priscila of My Storybook Party. I spoke to Priscila and the rest was history. She listens so well, is extremely organized, has many fantastic ideas, is kind, and truly cares about her brides (and grooms!). I don't know what I would have done without her. We traveled out to Sarasota at least 3 different times in the months leading up to the wedding and she would always coordinate appointments and meet or even drive us around the entire weekend. Yes, you read that right - she was with us the ENTIRE weekend from early in the morning until it got dark and that's in addition to spending hours with me on the phone. On to hair and makeup. Some would call me 'high maintenance' but hey, I know what I like. I have long curly hair that I'm used to spending 2-3hours washing, straightening then curling myself on an almost daily basis. I am also accustomed to spending around an hour doing my own makeup so a VERY good makeup and hair stylist were important to me and Priscila understood that. She found a lady that had at least like 15 years of experience in the wedding hair industry and booked me a trial. Initially, I thought I wanted a loose waterfall braid with hair teased at the top so the stylist tried, but she completely rushed through my trial and my hair ended up a frizzy mess. She said she would "practice" the braid since she was rusty and be better on my wedding day. Priscila paid attention, reassured me that I shouldn't just "go with" the stylist and that she would find someone for me because she wanted me to be confident that my hair would be perfect. She spent the next few months - YES MONTHS - searching for the perfect stylist. She called me to tell me she had found the perfect guy for the job and we made another appointment just a few months before my wedding. I sat in his chair and knew he was THE ONE that I could trust with my hair on our wedding day. We booked him and EVERYONE was impressed on our wedding day, but that's another review. Priscila also recommended a great makeup artist near our home on the East Coast that we ended up paying to come across the state for the day of our wedding. Décor - Priscila went out of her way to find rental companies for everything My Storybook Party did not have for rent. She tracked down so much - linens, tables, gold wood chivalry chairs (that would work on the beach), bling chandeliers, a tall chuppah, beaded chuppah curtains, tents, twinkle lights, and plate chargers. She also made sure to work with our venue coordinator to ensure we could get exactly what we wanted despite regulations/preferred vendor requirements/etc. Centerpieces - I looked everywhere and was on Pinterest for days looking for centerpiece ideas. I did not want the typical centerpiece with flowers and FINALLY found the bling pieces I had been looking for. Instead of renting I just bought everything I thought we needed, but we were short two big pieces due to last minute cancellations. Priscila spent hours going over options with me and taking pictures of how each table should be arranged. She also tracked down the last two pieces we needed - beautiful big bling candelabras that matched our other décor. She and her assistants set up the tables for us and broke them down immediately after the wedding. All of our pieces were neatly wrapped and packed in boxes and ready to travel. Every single piece I had was accounted for and unbroken. Day of - Priscila and her assistants ran around all day making sure everything was accounted for and in the right place. She also kept popping to check on me and ensure I was doing okay and everything was on schedule. She kept to a schedule and had every detail accounted for, down to the flip flop stations strategically placed for our guests to take their heels of if they didn't realize we'd be on the beach. The "extra" décor pieces we brought were placed around our reception area beautifully by Priscila. We had orchid strands on each chair on the aisle - she took them down and arranged the orchids around our beautiful cake after the ceremony. Did I mention our cake was just featured on Grace Ormonde Wedding Style? If you're planning a party big or small, call Priscila. She and her team will be right by your side every step of the way and ensure that you're 100% pleased with every single detail, whether you want to be as involved as I was in the process or if you trust her to run with everything. Our wedding was a dream come true & if you call her, yours will be too.

What initially attracted me to Priscila was her calm presence and soft-spoken voice. I was primarily looking to hire someone to keep my daughter relaxed prior to the ceremony, as we have a handful of family members who can be quite stress invoking! What I soon found was that I had hired so much more than a "bride-sitter" and "stress guard". Priscila is focused and driven. She truly knows the wedding business inside and out. I found that she could be firm and authoritative when necessary. While gentle in demeanor, she's no pushover! Priscila was quick to reply to phone calls, email, and text messages. She is full of interesting suggestions - things I never would have thought of. She referred us to several local vendors, who were not only professional, but I found to be very reasonably priced. She gladly intervened with a couple of issues that cropped up last minute, keeping the stress from my daughter. She coordinated with all of our other vendors, and created a master timeline for the entire wedding day. We were able to drop off all of our wedding items with Priscila in Sarasota a week prior to the wedding; so we didn't have to run anything to the venue on the day of. She and her team set up all of our wedding décor for us, and had all of it repacked and in our cars by the time the reception was over. Priscila truly understands that a wedding day is so much more than "just another day". With the timeline in place, there were no worries for any of the bridal party on the day of the wedding. Everyone was notified where they needed to be and at what time, and from there, Priscila and her assistants took over. Our only job on the day of the wedding was to be present. My daughter's wedding day was seamless, allowing everyone to focus on what was truly important - FAMILY! I would only do one thing differently if I had to do it over. I'd hire Priscila to handle to entire affair, instead of just the "month of" coordinating. I now understand that the money that you spend on the right wedding coordinator actually saves you so much in the long run! Thank you, Priscila Radke-Neves and My StoryBook Party! You were a breath of fresh air and felt like family by the time the wedding rolled around. You were a joy to work with!
