FUNKY & UNIQUE pieces!…read more Found this gallery on my walk from the hotel to the restaurant strip and decided to stop in. The shop owner was staying late since it was a busy evening so I got to parooz and admire all the works of art. I really liked the layout of the gallery, was very mindfully laid out and not too packed but still enough pieces to keep you interested for quite a while. I liked that there was also a section of photography so that kind of gave the gallery some variety. There was also a nice variety of functional ceramic pieces along with some classic decor pieces and also some super funky and eclectic decor pieces! The owner mentioned they hold shows and rotate artists through monthly so that's super cool to keep the gallery interesting and worth frequent trips! Prices were high, as to be expected with any specialty art, but not insanely high. For someone wanting to purchase art I think the prices were reasonable and affordable to most people who want to prioritize a purchase on artwork. Great gallery and worth a stop!!!

They are always switching things around in there so everything is really fresh. They also offer throwing classes and open studio, which I love because I have been looking for somewhere to throw and this is the best option. It gets a lot of light and the windows are very big. It's really a wonderful space. You have to check it out and pop in if you ever want to throw like I did.

Terra Gallery is a working gallery that hosts a variety of hands on events listed either on their site or on eventbrite. I didn't spend much time exploring the gallery because I was pretty sure I'd need all of the time for my project, but there were a lot of interesting looking pieces that I will plan to explore more in the future. The space is a little small, but they have made good use of it, and are planning a move across to Bridge Park soon. I was glad I recruited a friend to join, because we were the only two people in the class! It was a fairly laid back event. The instructor had sketched out the details on the canvases before we arrived, and they provided a little instruction card that kind of showed how to build your piece up. As usual with these events, we ended up with two very different finished products, and my friend chose not to add some of the elements to her piece. April helped her take things out as she preferred. Since it was just the two of us, we were chatting and painting and the instructor was working on her own piece while another woman priced pieces in the gallery. They were very friendly and I had a great time!

It's a really cool space and I enjoyed looking around at the different art pieces they had out on display. It was really neat to see what people are creating here. We arrived early for the class, and we were graciously welcomed into the classroom area. I believe our instructor was April. She was so friendly and informative. She showed us some different techniques and explained everything about the materials and how to do this as a hobby. I came back a few days later to pick up the canvases from the class. I met another woman who works there, however I didn't catch her name. She helped me pick out some nice frames for our canvases. She set the frames up for me just how I wanted them, and she gave me all the parts and pieces I would need to hang the frames. I am looking forward to taking another art class here sometime soon. Highly recommended!!

We visited to try out the Splatter Studio, which is pretty much what it sounds like: it's a studio that you can visit to make splatter paintings. We got outfitted with goggles, aprons and other protective gear, then headed into a room with lots of neon paint and a few blank canvases. The lights were turned off, the music was turned on, and were allowed to splatter and throw paint against the canvases to create our own individual paintings. It was a therapeutic -- and fun, and messy -- experience for my whole family. After we were done, we got to take home our artwork that we had created together. I don't usually like to make a mess, so splatter painting is not an activity that I usually would have sought out myself. But I'm glad that I tried it! Like I said, it was very cathartic and therapeutic. Slinging paint against a wall is a big stress reliever, believe it or not. And my kids, who are used to people telling them not to get messy and throw things, were super excited to get messy and throw things. This was a fun art activity for everyone. The owner of Young at Art, Karla, is a local art teacher, which is really neat. Along with the splatter studio, she also offers art classes and art lessons, as well as canvas painting parties. Karla is very friendly and made us feel at home in her studio during our painting session. If you're looking for a unique art activity for all ages, you need to visit Young at Art and try the splatter studio.
