My friend hosted a private painting event here with chai and snacks. We were a group of 12 and they had plenty of space for sitting, snacking, and chatting as well as space for the paint set up. I found the place to be very cute and the event made for a super fun afternoon with friends. You are able to bring in your own food and decor and set up there. The studio provides all the painting tools (canvas, brushes, paints, smocks, easle, etc.). My friend hosted us as a treat, so unable to provide costs. The two girls working there were very nice and demonstrated the painting to us. They came around to fill up paint colors, change waters, and to help with the paintings individually. I would love to go again for another artistic experience.

I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary and we had a wonderful evening! He loved making his own soap bars and I had a great time making some coasters. The finished soaps smell amazing and I am happy with my coasters as well! I had a lot of excess concrete so I was able to make extra coasters and got more bang for my buck. I unfortunately don't remember the name of the employee that helped us but she was incredible! Overall this was such a fun new experience for us and we would love to come back sometime.

A friend and I made homemade soap bars at Studio 614--it was incredibly easy, super fun, and the soap made for great gifts for my friends and family. I only wish their interior was more thoughtfully decorated. Great for those who want to be crafty!

Yet another fantastic class at Studio 614! In the past I had taken a string art and paint your pet class here (see original review), so the expectations were high & they exceeded every one again today! I have participated at a similar class at another business for a fundraiser, but it was nothing like the experience I had today. Not only did we get to select from a wide variety of scents & essential oils, but we really got to dive into the entire process. Megan did an outstanding job assisting us with everything from how to create our wick to painting our concrete candle holder and everything in between. There was another staff person on site who specializes in scented oils that provided best info on scent building and pairings. They both floated around the class ensuring that everything was going well.

Such a cute and quaint studio! We had a private session making string art and it was loads of fun! The two artists guiding us were very helpful and great with instructions. I would've like a little more time to work on the project, but we were booked for a specific period of time and when time was up, we were out so they could prepare for the next group. I ended up bring supplies home to finish, which they were kind enough to provide. You can bring your own food and drink and they have lots of space to set up snacks separate from crafts. I saw they had a lot of other craft offerings like painting, knitting, wreaths, etc, so I'll definitely think of them for future fun days out!

I've been to a few paint and ships through different companies but Studio 614 is the BEST! Great location, street parking and some behind the studio (get there early for that!) BYOB and food if you want, the staff is always so friendly and helpful! The new lay out is nice too during the pandemic, helps with social distancing! Love the selection of paintings, variety of days and times it's schedule, pricing is reasonable and they have sales (follow them in IG!). Can't wait to bring my son in for a Paint the Stadium event!

I've taken three art classes at this studio and have loved them all! I like that they offer more than just paint-in-a-group type classes. So far I've done the string art on wood, make your own essential oil candle, and knit your own blanket. The instructors are always patient and helpful! I also really like that these are skills you can use in the future, maybe to make friends gifts or decorate your own place. The studio space in itself is beautiful! I love how clean and chic is it. Also everything was designed with reclaimed materials - the 'tables' are painted doors. I think that is such a great concept and it shows you there's a lot you can do with old or discarded objects. Highly recommend Studio 614 - always a fun experience! :)

We were trying hard to find a way to be cool parents for our daughters sixteenth birthday. We were successful! We initially scheduled five to "paint your pet" and due to lovely Ohio weather, we had to cancel at the last minute. The folks at Studio 614 were generous with the reschedule allowing us to choose any other night to come and have our party. Easy to find, easy to park, and the folks that run the operation make it fun for the participants. Bring your own drinks, snacks, wine etc. They graciously offered us an IPA and since we're driving other people's kids we refused. Still a really nice gesture. Well worth the money and certainly Brings us closer to being the cool parents.

Studio 614 is the BEST PAINT PARTY in town! Located a couple minutes off-campus and seconds from Downtown, you will find this studio filled with paint brushes, exposed brick walls, bomb ass women, and a good time. Recently, I co-hosted a surprise paint party for a family member who was new to Columbus, and she loved that she had the entire studio to herself along with spending quality time with her closest friends and family. To say she loved it was an understatement! We were able to BYOB and kicked back, listening to Chris Brown's newest album while painting summer pineapples. The owner, Megan Sharbaugh graduated from the University of Cincinnati (my alma mater) and I remembered when she first reached out to me as a blogger to participate in a painting class at a bar. With no preconceived notions about it, I said, "sign me up," and it ended up being a great time spent with other Columbus bloggers painting the infamous Short North sign. If you're looking to celebrate a special occasion by doing something different; I would highly suggest her studio. She not only does DIY painting but if you have any Pinterest inspiration on your boards, she and her team are always willing to accommodate any new ideas.

This is the perfect place to have fun with friends & get out of your comfort zone if you're crafty or not! Our group had the best time doing our private party painting of the short north arches. Meg led our group and was so helpful & sweet! We will definitely be back for more crafts in the future!

Signed up for a candle class today because I won a BOGO ticket. Concrete holders ..got to choose the scents ... painting the concrete was totally optional ... I'm glad I did . Lots of different mediums to experience here .. parking can be a challenge depending on time of day and which day it falls on.

As part of my friend's bachelorette party, we painted wine glasses at Studio 614 which was a fun alternative to the normal canvas painting!

They have decorated the lounge area nicely for the holidays to give a warm feeling. My issue is with whoever was managing the kitchen that day. The event had chicken tenders and fries which were served for the kids, but they had run out. There was no sign that this option is for kids only, so unsurprisingly adults had taken these food items as well. Some of the kids do not eat anything else, so a few moms had asked if these items were going to be refilled. One of the staff members was really nice and said he would check, which then brought the chef out himself to say there were actually no more to be served, but he would fry a few for us. That was very kind of him, so we waited near the table for him. Ten minutes later we are approached by a man saying "sorry, no more food will be coming out." It had no context, so we said yes, we are aware, but a chef said he would bring a few out for us, to which he replied "listen, this was a freebie itself, there was only tenders for a 20 kid count... the buffet has already been discounted...it's in the contract... etc." I was like taken aback... 1) I'm not the host of the event, so I have no idea why a contract is being brought up to me who is just a guest attending, it was super unprofessional and unnecessary, 2) I did not demand any more food to be brought out, it was offered to us, and 3) I did not need this condescending attitude from this man, all he had to say is "I know the chef said he would make a few, but we are not able to offer more tenders." That right there would have been perfectly fine and that is no problem, because if you can't, you can't. He definitely put a negative vibe over something so simplistic just by the way of his attitude during a beautiful event. Shame!

Graystone Cellars is a banquet venue in the Brewery District located in a limestone vault. (pretty cool, huh?!) They carry some local wines & their food menu looks delicious! Plenty of options from a la carte apps to dinner and apps to dinner, drinks, & apps, etc. For drinks, there are multiple options from sodas to wine/beer to wine/beer/spirits, to better spirits, you name it! Brian was responsive and the information packet he sent me had everything I would want to know (the food and drink options, venue pictures, cost, etc.). I asked if gratuity was included, and he confirmed it was added into all of the pricing. So, it was a really great option! I haven't reviewed places I haven't experienced, but we looked at quite a few venues, and I was really impressed by the quality of food and drinks, how beautiful the space was, and the price. It was the best venue option, in my opinion. So, I wanted to share! The only reason we didn't book Graystone is because one of my colleagues got too nervous about the little lead time we had & wanted something with live bar music for the younger folk, so he booked a grungy bar. The younger team wanted to karaoke (he didn't), and he knew that no one could karaoke if there was already live music & a venue available to the public, so here we are. Ha! Baking macarons is a tricky thing and Damaris did such a good job breaking down all the steps. She gave us lots of tips and tricks for our home baking, and you can see her passion for what she does. That said, I have been to several of the cooking schools in Columbus and this was my least favorite overall attendee experience. It was more expensive, yet very "basic" for lack of a better word. All of the cooking classes I have attended come with some kind of amenities - a welcome cocktail, wine bar, cheese and crackers, hot coffee/tea, etc. Something. This class was three hours long and there was nothing offered but water and iced tea (on a 20 degree day). We also did not receive any kind of information prior to the class, so parking was like solving a mystery (hint: the parking lot is behind the house down a side alleyway)

In theory cooking with tea…read moresounded like the coolest thing ever and it was a very thoughtful gift, but the actual experience was a bit lackluster. The Seasoned Farmhouse is a beautiful space, but the cooking class was just okay. I unfortunately didn't learn any new skills and the main reason for this review being so low is because my husband and I got food poisoning at the event. I felt sick as soon as I ate the food and didn't feel better until 24 hours later. I have lots of thoughts on why this happened, that I will explain later. Class + Recipes: The recipes we tried were good. It was a class all about learning how to cook with tea. We made Shaoxing Wine Tea-Poached Chicken with Scallion Oil, Sweet Tea-Brined Roast Chicken, Salad Greens with Golden Raisin Vinaigrette, Tea-Poached Eggs, Black Tea Poppy Seed Muffins, Earl Grey Tea Cake with Chopped Chocolate and Tea-Infused Cream Cheese Frosting and Roasted Yukon Potato Wedges with Aioli Sauce. The food tasted good and I appreciated the amount of thought that Chef Cindy Ramsey put into creating them. However, I was severely disappointed with the set-up of the class. I've been to 6 cooking classes at other locations and always was assigned to a specific station where each participant would make each dish and learn new cooking skills. This class was set-up where we were given a 20 minute lecture and then told to wash our hands and disperse to focus on different aspects of the meal. For instance I mixed the aioli sauce, iced the cake and teared lettuce leaves. Though we were told to wash our hands, we didn't wear gloves and this is what I believe caused my husband and I to get sick. Cons: Lack of cleanliness. During the demonstrations sometimes the chef would touch raw ingredients like eggs and chicken and would then touch other ingredients that would not be cooked. This leads to cross contamination and should have been avoided on the chefs behalf. In addition, because 10 different people peeled eggs, and various people touched ingredient components that would not be cooked I believe this also may be the cause of getting sick. As a science nerd let me share that we all have a different skin microbiome. Sometimes people carry more of one bacteria on their skin than others. Also depending on the length and cleanliness of finger nails, this also could cause unwanted bacteria on food that was prepared without being cooked. If these bacteria get into the ingredients, some people can get ill from them. Net: PLEASE HAVE ALL PARTICIPANTS WEAR GLOVES WHEN PREPARING FOOD, ESPECIALLY ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE COOKED. I feel like the price of the class was not cheap and hopefully could cover the cost of gloves in the future. Based on this experience, I would not come here again and do not recommend it to someone who is looking for a more traditional style cooking class.
