Celebrated my husband's early birthday here on a Friday night. Short North was busy but we got…read morethere early to make a candle before our class so we had plenty of time to get settled. The team did a great job helping us celebrate by making a subtle birthday sign. They were also all very kind and helpful throughout the entire night. The candle making was easy and straight forward, and it was able to set while we did our class. Before class started they took our drink orders and they came quickly. We got a lemon drop and a paint water martini. Both were very tasty! Only a few people were on time, but they did give a few minutes grace period to let people find parking. By the time we got started the vibes were fun. Yahfa was our artist and she had an awesome Y2K playlist going. She explained all the steps clearly and gave us ample time to paint. We did a black light picture so most of the class was in the dark with the paint glowing. As someone who is not an artist this was so much fun! The whole process took about 2 hours, and it was easy to follow along from both her instructions and seeing her work projected on the tv. The team also made sure to regularly check in to see if we needed anything or wanted any drinks. At the end of our time, our paintings were mostly dry and our candle was set. We were also able to choose a painting from a number of options as a birthday gift for my husband. It was very sweet and a nice cherry on top of our night! We are so happy with how it went that we are already planning to go back and bring some friends along too! You start with raw, unfinished wood and destress, sand, stain, put your sign together and create the art. When you walk out you will have a sign that is ready to hang (hanging wire attached), which is great! The staff was feisty but generally helpful. They came with more paint when we requested it. They also helped us blowdry the canvasses. It was the instructor's first time and he did great. I am not an artist and don't consider myself creative, so I was a bit nervous, but it turned out just fine. You can book and pay online, after choosing the day by whatever painting you want to create. All you need to bring is your own wine; they have available corkscrews and stemless glasses. Had a great experience at Wine and Canvas a few weeks ago. The class was taught by Bryan and he…read moremade the class fun and engaging. I went to Wine and Canvas with nine other people for an event. We did a skyline and made the canvas a night background. I have painted in the past but never liked how they came out. I really appreciated Bryan going above and beyond to ensure that everyone in our group was happy with their work and gave tips on how to fix anything we might have messed up. As far as the wine part, I was expecting my group to order more drinks but they didn't. I also am a total klutz and tipped my drink over then it sprayed on the group. I was able to get another one no problem. You can also bring your own food and if I knew that before I would've brought snacks. So many opportunities at this store. Would go back anytime!

It was getting within a week of the date and I still didn't get a confirmation. I called the place AT LEAST 12 times and sent 2 emails and still no response, because the mailbox was full and nobody ever answered the phone. Since I was bringing 8 people, I needed to confirm. So I drove to the place (which was supposed to be open, but was closed) and left a note, written on a napkin (saying PLEASE CALL AND CONFIRM) and placed it under a rock in front of the door. I spent at least an hour, if not more, trying to confirm this party. After the note, I finally got a phone call. NO APOLOGIES for the inconvenience were given. The person just said that there phones weren't working. Additionally, the painting instructor was very kind, but young and NOT VERY INSTRUCTIVE. She said, "Paint flowers at the bottom." Well, I want to know HOW to paint flowers! My painting looked like a 5 year old. When I went to another studio in Worthington about a year ago, I left with a beautiful painting because the instructor gave us all very detailed instructions and SHOWED us how to paint, instead of TELLING us what to paint. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

All the supplies are provided as well as a Paint Nite or Yaymaker apron to wear to protect your clothes. Some of the methods we used to paint meant our aprons weren't quite large enough, but fortunately we got the specks out of our clothes when we got home. This event did not include any food or drinks, but they are held at locations where you can purchase such items. We had an enjoyable time and would do it again!
