I'm really disappointed in our experience. A group of 6 of us came together, and getting set up was fine, but then there were technical difficulties galore during the actual VR time. We had to pause our simulation 6 separate times because the gear was falling off, the sound was too loud or too quiet, everything was echoing, the weapons weren't working, etc. Calling for assistance took a good 30 seconds for a staff member to come; it was clear that none of them was nearby to help or monitoring our simulation because we had to scream it multiple times before they would do anything. Two of my teammates couldn't be heard on the headset and another was so loud it was painful to my ears, so the microphones were apparently all different, which made communicating frustrating when it seemed like half our team wasn't contributing when they actually were. My weapon only worked about 1/3 the time--no noise or vibration or virtual response--so I kept dying because it wasn't recognizing I was fighting back. Another teammate mentioned she had a similar issue where the weapon only worked half the time and only in one direction. I mentioned my weapon issue three times during moments when the game was paused because another person on my team needed help, and not once did any staff member acknowledge my issue or attempt to resolve it. Twice my hand was still raised for help when the simulation resumed. I also periodically kept getting a message that I was disconnected, and the staff told me it was because I was too close to the edge, despite the edge being a good five steps away inside the simulation. When I mentioned that they're like "no it's right next to you, don't get too close to it." It didn't look like I was close at all, so apparently the calibration was off and they didn't do anything to fix it, which you can imagine doesn't bode well inside the simulation. We all noted afterward how we could hear the other teams in other rooms better than we could hear our own simulation or each other, so my advice to the management is to add some sort of soundproofing in each room so the sound doesn't carry as much between rooms. Overall, the mediocre experience was not at all worth the price, so I would not recommend this place because of that. We spent more time paused to troubleshoot issues and fiddle with the gear than we actually spent inside the game, and the constant pausing due to issues really pulled us out of the momentum of the story. read more

The VR experience itself was fun, but unfortunately very short. For the price you pay, it didn't feel worth the cost. What really made this experience frustrating was the lack of consistency from staff afterward. One team member told us we could receive a discount if we called back within 72 hours. When I called back, the person who answered was unhappy and said it was only 24 hours. I then spoke with the manager, who also insisted it was only 24 hours -- which would have been Christmas Day, when they were closed. Between the short experience, the price, and the miscommunication from staff, it left a bad impression. Overall, there was a lot of frustration, and we would not return. read more

Ultra Surreal Experience !! Very fun and engaging!! This experience is VeRy beyond the regular VR set you can buy for your home! Check out their website for multiple scenarios you can play in. Always a great time at Sandbox VR! We still got our full time even though we were 5 minutes late. Recommend to get there 10-15 mins early because there is a lot they have to go over with you to prepare you for the VR activity. A little pricey, but it was worth it for us. We even got a video at the end and a little birthday celebration clip too. read more

This was such a cool experience. Located at bridge park in Dublin across from the North Market. Parking on the street or in the garages for free. We made a reservation for a birthday and got there early to check in and get our gear. Friendly staff gets you all set up. We did the Deadwood Valley (killing zombies!! Yay). They get you all the sensors on and then you setup the game and choose your weapon. Additional weapons can be added on for an extra charge. I personally don't think that should be the case and be wary online when booking they will try to sell you cheap candy/snack baskets which are outrageous in price. Now the game, this was so much fun and great quality. Nice size room to move around in and experience true VR. We all really enjoyed the game and only had one issue with my wife's second weapon not working. Other than that really cool experience but a little pricey but worth a go. Also since it was a birthday they add a little extra theme at the end which was fun. Also they give you a link to see the video created of your experience. This was a lot of fun! We had a group of 4 for my husband's birthday. We did Deadwood Valley, and if you like killing zombies, this is for you! Each member of your group chooses a gun, but you can't have the same gun. You can pay (not sure how much) to upgrade to a really good gun, but we didn't do that. You get wrist and ankle sensors. You also get a vest. When zombies are on your back, it vibrates. It's pretty crazy when the zombies are literally in your face biting you and then you look over at a teammate and you can see a zombie on his back! There were multiple scenes and a good story line. When you "die" your teammates have to put their hand on your shoulder to revive you. The goggles are a little blurry, if they aren't sitting just right on your face. And I'm not sure the microphones were working 100%, however, this was still a 5 star experience. They give you a "trailer" version of your experience afterwards and show how well you did compared to the others in your group. They even had a happy birthday scene at the end for my husband, which was unexpected and very cool! We will be back. read more

I don't want to review this place because I'm selfish. The reason I'm saying this is because I don't want a lot of people getting hip to this place, making it hard for me to get in when I want to because this experience is freaking awesome. I had the opportunity to experience the Sandbox VR in Las Vegas a few years ago. Since then, I've wondered why we don't have a place like that here. Well, a few years and answered prayers later, here we are. I took my son here this day, and let me be the first to say that he had a blast, figuratively and literally. If you haven't been to Sandbox VR setup and heard that it is merely a virtual reality game, then you are sadly mistaken. It's an immersive VR experience that puts you in the game for real. You feel the grabs of the zombies and wind from the helicopters that are coming to extract you and the rescue targets for the hordes of the undead. I would recommend this place for a date night, family, co-workers, and most definitely friends. I saw all of the prior mentioned groups coming into the place to play and heard the screams to go along with the amazing time they had. My son and at one point went across the street to the North Market and could hear the screams from there. The establishment is immaculate, and you are assured that all the equipment you will touch has been sterilized. The staff was accommodating and made sure that we knew what to do and that we had the best experience. read more

I got an email about the new Squid Game and I told my husband that I wanted to do this for my bday. I also got 10% off for my bday that I signed up for news from Sandbox. We went back with a couple friends. It was so fun. It felt so real when you got eliminated and fell through those obstacles. We got 20% off the next visit if book it within 24 hrs. So we and our friends booked our next visit! We think it's pretty pricey but it's worth it for special occasions. Our friends will be doing this for their family xmas celebration. We came to Sandbox for my husbands birthday with a small group of friends and seriously had so much fun. We were immediately greeted by a worker when we came in and given instructions on how to check in. We were 10 mins early for our appointment and still taken right back to get ready for the game. Instructions for getting sensors on and such were nice and simple. We did the deadwood valley zombie game. The actual game part was so much fun with just a couple glitches throughout. The length of the game was perfect, just long enough to get our moneys worth but not too long where you got bored or claustrophobic. there's a little extra part of the game at the end if you're there for a birthday party. I'm going to kinda chunk this review into 2 parts, one for the group review (4 people) and then my personal review. Price was about $200 for 4 pTotal game time as it was supposed to be was probably around 30 minutes. Briefing and debriefing together probably another 30. We experienced about 30/45 minutes of technical difficulties. Group: It was a fun vr experience and great to do as a group. The storyline was good as well as the graphics. The downside was that we experience probably about 45 minutes of technical difficulties and ended up not completing the experience because we had other engagements. We also didn't get a video Personal: I personally want to take off a star because the whole experience was exhausting. We were there for nearly 2 hours. They get a star for the super nice staff and the clean equipment. The technical issue we experienced were one of my teammates guns was not being registered. We had to stop 4 times because of this and it took quite a while each time to get it fixed. The game was just ok. Pretty standard zombie shooter (Deadwood Valley). There were some unique parts to the game but that's about it. I have personal beef with vr equipment since it's heavy and doesn't fit well on the female body frame (especially the headset). The headset was pulling down the skin on my face quite a bit and the top of the headphones just barely covered my ears. To top that all off there was a lot of echo in the building so we could hear the other groups screaming through our headsets and our mics. Icing on the cake, no refund. TLDR; Tech problems + time made this experience not worth $200 for us. Staff was super nice though. read more

My 1st time going with my family we did Deadwood Valley .Then, the 2nd time we all went and did Squid Games and we loved the visual and audio effects throughout each of these the games . It truly felt like I was literally in the game. That's why yesterday when my family and I went to attempt a third time we were very disappointed with the outcome. Our time slot was at 6:40 pm and didn't go back till after 7pm. Then there were several technical issues and difficulties. At 7:49pm we still hadn't started and decided to leave . As so many people enjoy SandBox VR I definitely feel they need to update their equipment. The staff were trying but they still couldn't figure out the problems. read more
