The Bobby Floyd Trio's show "All That Jazz" began with a documentary about this incredible photo taken for Esquire in 1958 Harlem that gathered together so many great jazz musicians. Bobby, Derek & Reggie rocked the stage with Dizzy, Sonny, Basie, Thelonious. The ticket prices are quite reasonable too.

I'm concerned with the sudden spike in rent for tenants. Starting an art career is difficult, and I fear the spike in prices will merely gentrify the area and force the artists out. That being said, I am also frustrated by the group that hangs out at the corner of W. Rich and Lucas St during a number of events. I have run into them multiple times, worked with them, and they are always very aggressive. They try to get people to donate for their calendars. When I go to Franklinton Fridays, I want to invest in local art. I don't want to be guilted for not volunteering enough or not donating to their specific cause. Please address this.

It is a Y -dimensional dominated space, it goes up like a turret in a castle. But the its efficiency and design makes it uber useful and comfortable. Cohatch has over ten thousand feet of personal office space, conference rooms, a game room, and a coffee bar. Dominated by a visual appealing open stair spiral the place presents with tables, work areas, and geometric forms that suggests inspiration and creativity. They must spend a majority of their cost on cleaning because the place sparkles with stainlessness and polish. These immaculate halls are adorn with tasteful earth tones enhanced by daps of primary brights, variously matching light fixtures, and framed metal flanking borders, mirrors, and panels. The overlook room, where my meeting happened, is a large space wi5h all the essential needs. Nice booths in the corner gives the conference room a cafe feel, and the multi-armed chandeliers add a smack of class and artistry. The windows look down UA adding--believe it or not-- a kinda urban, cosmopolitan feel. It was a nice place for a meet up.

I came a little past 1 on a Saturday for an exhibition and it was only us and a volunteer and an intern. They said that they typically don't get many people here unless they have a huge event in which the artist brings their friends to the reception. Still, I wish more people knew about it. They do events here once a month and have an annual festival in early September! Be sure to follow their Instagram and Facebook for more updates! It's volunteer-run, so if you're interested in helping them out they welcome it! They had a few appetizers out, coffee, and juice. The juice was very refreshing! There are a few murals around it and on the building itself. There's a parking lot to the right of it that I think is theirs or you can do street parking on Starr Ave. I'm coming back again next month!

Unfortunately, the food quality was extremely disappointing and well below even basic banquet standards. We were greeted with room-temperature water (no ice) and bowls of wilted lettuce that had clearly been sitting out for too long. The main course included a plain, boiled chicken breast--completely unseasoned and stark white in appearance. The green beans tasted like they came straight from a can and were also unseasoned--no butter, garlic, or anything to improve their flavor. The only redeeming item was the lasagna, which was actually quite good and the only part of the meal I finished. I work in the restaurant industry, and I'm not someone who complains easily. But this meal was unacceptable. For an event honoring student-athletes and their families, more care and attention to quality should have been given. I wasn't expecting gourmet dining, but serving 700 guests such poorly prepared food sends a message: if they don't put in the effort for a high-profile banquet like this, I would seriously reconsider trusting them with a once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding.

We learned that you can pick your own caterer and provide your own booze which can go along way in both cost and allowing you to truly customize your special event. This was one of the top contenders for our wedding day. What ended up keeping us from booking is that we wanted to have a November wedding and this venue is perfect for outdoor weddings so it just was too much of a gamble with the crazy Ohio weather. The staff was excellent -- always checking in to see if we needed anything. According to Charlotte, one of the venue coordinators, they can seat about 150 max. The wedding I attended had a little under 100 guests, with plenty of room to move about with the dance floor set up in the front of the venue. For the ceremony: There is a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking a pond w/ a fountain. Plenty of seating with a small aisle for the bridal party to walk down. For the reception: There is plenty of room! Tons of natural lighting. A concession stand type window bar area and an alcove to set up the food and cake tables. I was very impressed with this venue. Capable of hosting, larger groups, I have attended several times the Columbus Metropolitan Club lunch meetings. The acoustics in the main hall are great, and it was easy to see and hear everything on the program. Large windows allow natural light to enter the space, and this is supplemented by other facility lighting. A great choice for event planners. I would point out that the on-site parking is smaller in capacity, and while street parking is available, this is something that needs to be thought out and clearly communicated to event attendees.

The food was delicious. We were delighted to learn they are able to accommodate for many food allergies. The only inconvenience is that parking is available about 2 blocks away or on the street. We had someone drop us off and pick us up which worked well. When we left we noticed a security/police vehicle parked nearby so it felt like a safe venue especially if you had to walk the 2 blocks to the parking garages.
