This was our second virtual class through this company. Jessica (from DFW area) was our host both times. Easy to sign-up, just pick a class for what you want to paint (different classes for all ages and levels of painters) and pay. It's only $10 per person. You will get an invite to a Zoom session. They tell you what colors of paint and other items you'll need. Once you get on Jessica or other host will greet you and walk you through each step until completion. There are breaks built in to allow the paint to dry and for you to stretch your legs. The class is about an hour. Something great to schedule do with your family and friends from anywhere as you can see each other if you enable your camera. Fun time for everyone! I bought 3 tickets for a paint night class for my daughter's birthday. I separately purchased all the supplies to arrive before the party. Three days before the class was moved to a later date. Yaymaker doesn't give refunds so I requested codes to reschedule. I found another event that worked and tried to use my codes but this event doesn't accept vouchers - so I'd have to spend another $45. There's no way to talk to a person - I've submitted numerous requests for help and get off topic automatically generated replies. It seemed like such a great concept for a covid bday party. Now I'm out $45 with supplies but no activity for the party. So disappointing. read more

I simply will not understand how a company who no longer brings in the business would not allow a teenager to attend an event with their parent?! I've been to several paint night events and alot more chairs are empty than they are occupied these days! Maria (the rep for yaymaker) you just lost out on an easy $60 because of that ignorant decision. We are now going to another establishment in round rock that allows teenagers. Fyi, TABC is cool with all kids with their parent(s) at over 21yr old establishments. It's just paint! read more

A group of my friends went to Paint Nite & had a blast! Jarett was a delight & made painting a relaxing creative time. We had a variety of painting skills & a couple did their own painting while the rest of us followed his step by step easy to do instructions. Jarett even offered encouragement & assistance to those doing their own painting project. I am already planning another Paint Nite! read more

I have done Paint Nite a couple of times. I like the set-up because the classes are held at various restaurants or bars around Austin. It is easy to order food and drinks while you are taking the class. I only ever do a class with Paint Nite if I have a Groupon or Living Social voucher, though, because I am on a budget and $40 for the painting class is just not in our finances at the moment. read more

The photo on the Groupon showed an indoor venue, it is OUTDOORS on a patio. Good to know if you are thinking of going anywhere in Austin with 100+degree temps and want to sweat your buns off. Also, mosquitoes, so much fun. Not very inspired teacher, I could have done better. This one was at El Ceviche, a dump of a restaurant. We had to pay $8 to park because there is NO parking. Then walk past disgusting dumpsters with trash all over alley behind patio where we were sitting. Over all, save your money and go to happy hour somewhere nice (and indoors). This was a TERRIBLE experience. The artist showed up 5 minutes after we were supposed to begin painting and had nothing setup. I scheduled the event with a group of friends but no table could fit a group of 6 together and no one helped us make arrangements so some people from our group had to sit on their own with strangers. When the artist actually did get around to setting up, she kept running out of supplies and having to run back to her car for more...and then she ran out of paint - she told us just to "make do" with what little paint there was. Everyone finally had some supplies at their seats an hour late of when we were scheduled to begin painting. The venue could not accommodate the size of the paint nite group so tables were split between different rooms. No one could hear or see the artist for any instruction so were left on our own to try and make a painting in a dark bar. We were actually having to use the light from our cell phones to see the canvas. I would never recommend this experience to anyone. read more

It was the worst experience to date. I am reporting them to the BBB. I bought three tickets to their 17 October event at El Ceviche Grill to celebrate a birthday. We showed up to find the venue had shut down for maintenance. Predictably nobody picked up the phone at the event site or at paintnite. Neither paintnite nort their artist Jarett Leger had the common courtesy to inform or notify anyone. we received an email an hour later stating the the event site was closed (duh) and that could reschedule if we wished. I absolutely LOVE paint nite! It has become my new favorite way to have fun, be creative, mingle with friends, learn new techniques, and enjoy Austin-area venues! After a summer of painting with Paint Nite Austin I have 8 paintings on my walls at home and I am a happy lady! My personal favorite (venue) is El Ceviche, but they also teach at fun spots such as Malaga, Spider House, Russian House, and Fado, among other great places I haven't been to yet. My recommendation: I usually like to go to happy hour at the establishment first, so that I can be comfortably parked and have time to eat and drink with friends and reserve our painting seats as early as possible. The artists in charge are great people and are wonderful at blending their craft with a fun-hungry group of drinking folks! They provide everything - the paint, canvases, easels, brushes, water, aprons, and two hours of instruction. You provide your fun-loving self and whatever drinks and eats you like. It is tremendously worth it, especially if you and your friends haven't painted in the last 10 years or more, they walk you through every step of the way and encourage a good time no matter what. And at the end of the night, you have something that you can proudly hang on your wall and be reminded of the fun time. Enjoy! read more
