So incredibly disappointed, we have a clean well kept house and have had service with Yates Astro for about 30 years.
But within these walls exists something from horror stories, 2 Ft long Monster rats!
For the past few years I've been complaining to Yates that our walls and attic are alive. Our beautiful home has been infested with rats, roaches and termites, the rats are the biggest our Technician and I have ever seen.
I've contacted Yates numerous times but it was a waste or time and money. I had to personally devise a way to kill then and have eliminated numerous rats (varying generations) because the traps and bait Yates used has never worked, not even 1 rat was eliminated with their methods.
To add fuel to fire, we hired a contractor because our floor was buckling and it has to be replaced because it was loaded with TERMITES.
When I contacted Yates their so called termite expert was a no-show for his 1st appt.
Then we were told that after 30 years of their treatments, their work was NOT guaranteed.
They will not pay for any damages whatsoever, but will retreat only with the stuff that didn't work in the first place.
They really dropped the ball here, 30 years of monthly AND annual payments and our home is being destroyed by unwanted guests.
What a complete waste of money.
You may want to consider a service that has effective treatments as Yates Astro certainly doesn't!
I had a choice, move out of our home forever or teach myself to become a "Rat killing pro", the technician joked about hiring me for consultations because I now know so much about them., ***********************
What I've learned;
They do not like or love the tubes stuff Yates squeezes on all the traps (that they claim will work), also these smart rats eat so carefully out of the snap traps that they never set the trap off.
Of everything I experimented with to catch the monsters, fresh spinach worked best.
To kill them in the snap traps I put peanut butter in the hole then shoved raw almonds in it so tightly that they really had to tug to get it out, topped with fresh spinach they couldn't resist the temptatio.
Also, don't waste your money on the Haveaheart traps, one rat entered 1/2 way, it went off, it escaped and must have shared the news because they never ever entered again.
It may work for mice but these big critters know all the tricks.
I also suggest you use a motion detector camera if you find the tell tail signs, when you learn their habits it's a lot easier to stop them.
They ate 1 bag of Decon but wouldn't touch it again. (They wouldn't eat the super killer food Yates puts in their bait boxes at $15 per box so don't waste your money).
They did like a product called Cykill that I found on Amazon. I can't even imagine how many were killed with the 2 pounds they ate of that.
The biggest rats seem to let the younger ones be the guinea pigs, that's why you ultimately have to do a hard kill on them because they resist the poisons.
This is probably more information than you ever wanted to know about rats, it certainly is for me! (Especially when we've paid for a service for 30 years and shouldn't have ever had this enormous problem in the first place). read more
