Called and made an appointment, for the free oil change. I liked this place a lot, the people are nice and greet you the moment you walk in. The entire process was simple, and the oil change was free just as advertised, no haggling or red tape at all. They got my info and keys, and the oil change was done in about 15-20 mins. I waited in their waiting area (which I noticed other local shops that I have been to don't have). Once the oil change was complete, they highlighted that I may need breaks soon, and I was on my way. The great thing was they did not pressure me on getting my breaks fixed "as soon as possible" like most places and even told me how much they would cost and how much break life I had remaining percent wise. I enjoyed my experience at V&R, and recommend them to anyone in the surrounding area that needs car service. I will definitely be going back for any future car needs.

So I should've done this review a few years ago when this occurred but I'll explain for the late…read morereview in the narrative. I took my car in to V & R, 3 years ago to get a battery. In the Jeep Grand Cherokee's, the battery is under the passenger seat. I probably should've went somewhere else considering I had taken my car there on three separate occasions for engine misfiring before and they supposedly fixed it. Well, on this occasion, for them to fix the battery, they had to diagnose the engine to make sure it was the battery. Long story short, when I got home, my radiator was leaking. I told Rocky that I had no issue with my radiator or anything leaking with my engine. He said that I probably hit something on the way home, which was total BS. Again, long story short, after another thousand dollars of spending money there what was I supposed to do? I needed a car. So now fast-forward three years later...they had replaced windshield wipers on my vehicle before this incident while I had it in for an oil change. Well now yesterday, I went to get new Windshield wipers and as my buddy was replacing them, he tells me that the windshield wiper on the passenger side was super glued on!!! Could you freaking believe this???? I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. Rocky seems like a nice guy, but he doesn't watch what his employers are doing in the shop. They rip you off and he's not willing to back up anything that they do there. Avoid this place at all cost unless you want more and more repair bills! The mechanics need to be supervised!!!

I took my 14 year old Japanese car for a heat shield repair and had rear my breaks replaced. Above and beyond service, supervised and managed by a master mechanic. I recently took my car back for front break service. They checked everything per my request, and recommended that I didn't need anything. Any other place would have had my breaks replaced. Their prices are fair, and that is fine. Cheap mechanic work, like GC work and non-OEM parts is expensive in the long run.

So the other day I had errands to run in the deep south suburbs. On the drive down my car started…read moreto have the shakes and making peculiar sounds. So I pulled off the highway and onto the first exit available. It's been a trying time with my Suby and it all stems from poor repair work at supposed Subaru authorized repair shops. That is it's own review which I'll detail later. So here I am with a car that is making all sorts of noises and many of the indicator lights are flashing. When this happens in a Subaru, the onboard system detects a flaw and wants the driver to report to a mechanic quickly. I had a choice of getting the car towed elsewhere or opting to finding a new service close-by my location. (I have had terrible, lousy experiences using Berman Subaru and did not want to use them by any means. Even though they were closer than other options. ) I chose to do the latter and by chance found this shop. TBH, it's been a minute since I have used an 'around the corner' mechanic shop. Based on quick looks of the exterior the shop doesn't give off the impression of 5 star quality. But due to a couple reviews by Yelpers I know, decided to check them out. Their lot is full of cars. Despite that, the manager asked me to pull into the driveway as best as possible. He asked me to sit inside their office as his mechanics took time to diagnose the problem. Initially they thought they could take care of the problem that afternoon. But after chatting with parts shops, they needed to keep the car at least a day to receive parts and finish the repair. Since I was leaving the car overnight, I asked if they could inspect the mufflers. I had had replacement completed at another shop and those guys incorrectly hung the mufflers which now gave off a loud rattling sound which occurred in and outside of the vehicle. The manager said they would take care of it and quoted me for the initial repair services. When I picked up my Suby I noticed a 'feel' I had not had in some time. A feeling of what my car is usually like but now, it was operating effectively and best of all, that pesky rattling from the new mufflers was gone! (Side note; on a Subaru there are two options for muffler replacement. OEM or after market. OEM parts are uber expensive. Their aftermarket counterparts are almost 40% less cost. No difference in zoom or horsepower. However, some would have us thinking that the aftermarket parts aren't quite fitted/ built the same and therefore the replacement shops should not be liable if, ____ insert any bs here. ie the previous shop said, hey, lessor cost parts means we weren't able to hang the mufflers as perfectly as the original. The exhaust sound was so loud it echoed inside the cabin as it did outside. It got louder when the air conditioning was on. I took it back to the muffler shop repeatedly because of the loud sound. The mufflers would shake when turning, which gave me an uneasiness. Because, if parts are rattling and shaking, that can cause other problems with the operation of the vehicle.) So.. I am happily pleased with their services and associated costs. Before leaving on day one, they gave me an estimated cost which was updated when I retrieved my ride. Based on the repair costs from Berman Subaru and another north side Subaru authorized repair shop, I saved a whole bunch of $moola$. Even though it's a bit of a trek from my area of town, I'd consider them for my future needs.

She misled us assuring that a promotional discount would be applied if we proceeded at this time, quoting the discounted final price and adding it to the notes for the advisor to honor at time of appointment. Upon arrival, Jarrett not only did not honor what we were told and led to the appointment, but claimed to not see her notes. Very MISLEADING practices all around as we ended up spending almost double the quoted price... all for a service we didn't intend on getting at the time and frankly would have held off on for the time being as intended. To make matters worse, our 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minute quoted wait time ended up being 2 hours because Jarrett left us waiting in the lobby an additional 40 minutes with no update. We visibly saw our car pulled around and parked for customer pickup yet it was only until we finally inquired the eta that Jarrett informed our car was ready and checked us out. His entire demeanor and the overall experience was unnecessarily dismissive and unprofessional. Lastly, the pictures show what the car looked like after the complimentary included 'car wash' that the service advisor assured. Poor customer service and experience and I truly hope that management reviews this so it doesn't happen again. Customers should be able to trust the pricing they are quoted, and definitely expect basic courtesy and transparency throughout the service process.
