My friend and I went by Tokyo Central over the weekend and loved it…read more We may like it a bit better than Mitsuwa, don't tell anyone! It's a massive two story building in Gardena with groceries and a conveyor belt sushi sit-down restaurant on the second floor. They have a large parking lot that is usually fine but can get wild on the weekends as it wraps around the building - instead of just being a huge open lot or garage. They carry many Hawaiian items, in addition to Japanese products from eats to skincare. Their grab & go sandos are pretty good - both the pork katsu sando and the egg salad sandwiches are tasty. They have a hot buffet so you can try up to 20 different items for a by the pound price. The Gindaco counter in the food section has takyoyaki (fried octopus balls) which are popular here. Love this market and will always make a point of stopping in when I'm nearby!

Their selection of ingredients is amazing, and they carry items that are hard to find elsewhere. They also have a fantastic prepared foods section. Everything is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced, making it a great option whether you're shopping for ingredients or grabbing a quick meal. This is definitely one of my favorite stores, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality Asian groceries and fresh prepared foods!

No more cherry acai for me. I did have granola so that was not what caused the problem I experienced before. I can confidently keep ordering my bowls here now. I'm really glad I don't need to switch shops because the location is convenient and I liked everything about my previous orders except those irritating bits of miniature concrete I kept chewing on when I ordered the bowls with cherry. If you enjoy keeping your teeth whole, you might also want to bypass that particular flavor.

I've been here three times, and each visit has fallen well short of the experience provided by other nearby locations. The staff often seemed disengaged and gave off the impression that they wanted us to hurry up and order. Most recently, I ordered a simple mini Pitaya bowl and a smoothie. After waiting more than 15 minutes and watching several customers who ordered after us receive their food first, I had to ask about the status of my order. We discover our order was just sitting there on a side table. No one had announced our order whatsoever. What made the delay even more frustrating was that we had frozen groceries in the car that needed to be taken home. Despite living less than half a mile away, we'll gladly make the longer drive to another Beach Bowls location in the future for better service and a more enjoyable experience.

A great farmer's market at Torrance's Wilson Park on Tuesdays and Saturdays (not all the same…read morevendors on both days). I like the seasonal fruits and vegetables throughout. Some faves: - Thao's booth for Asian vegetables such as marunggay (moringa) leaves, chili leaves, sweet potato leaves, Italian and Thai basil, different varieties of bittermelon as well as bunches of the leaves, baby tomatoes, squash flowers, etc. when they are in season. Once I found sugar cane stalks there. - Arnett's for fruit, with many sample bins. (Personal request: please take a fresh toothpick for each sample, don't double dip.) - Multiple vendors with strawberries and mixed berries year-round - The grower with Japanese produce like komatsuna, shiso leaves, etc. that also supplies the Japanese markets. - Organic avocado vendor with bins at different price ranges - Kettle corn vendor - Salsa vendor (the best salsa, and you can specify spice level) - Hot sweet potato and roasted corn vendor (the sweetest!) - Frog's organic bakery (bread loaves and pastries from Gardena) - Tamale booth (I like the individual tamales from the Saturday vendor and the plate combo from the Tuesday vendor) - The lemonade vendor with large clear plastic barrels of combinations like watermelon lemonade, strawberry lemonade, etc. - Mashees Matcha has an awesome banana cream matcha (maybe seasonal?) Shout out to the guy at the Information Booth for the tip on this one!
