Nice yarn shop in York, Maine. The service there is always pleasant. They have a pretty nice selection of yarn to choose from and some cute, whimsical items to buy thought out the shop and their prices are comparable. read more

It is your average run of the mill yarn shop. They do have lots of samples including some cute lobster themed stuff. We were there on vacation and were ignored until I sought out help finding locally dyed yarn. Even then the person was curt and it felt like I was bothering her. We did not buy anything and I do not think we'd go back. Honestly the dog was the best part. read more

I am visiting York beach and since it was a rainy day I decided to buy some yarn and crochet a baby sweater. When I entered I was greeted and asked if I had been there before. I explained that I was visiting from New York- " we won't hold that against you" I was told. Then the store layout was explained. When I went to check out apparently I had not got the package for the buttons and was told " well we don't know all the prices off the top of our heads" Possibly the snark is folksy but I won't be going back even though I visit Maine often. read more

Loved this place! Was visiting a few yarn stores in Maine for souvenirs while here on vacation and this one was my favorite by far! Honestly, one of my favorite yarn stores ever! Great selection, very reasonably priced, staff was very friendly and helpful, store was organized very well, and lots of great samples to look at! read more

Service is great- just need to ask for help. These folks are knitters and they have great ideas and taste. The selection is amazing too I'm my opinion. This is a large store compared to many retailer of yarns, so they gave the space to carry a wide variety and lots of colors. read more

Huge selection of everyday & special yarn. They have all the knitting accessories you could ever need. Loads of free parking. The sales lady was very helpful. read more

Gorgeous yarns and helpful, lovely people. We always make a point to stop here when in town.

Great selection, creative patterns on display, sparkly crochet hooks, local yarn related goods -- beautiful hand made yarn bowls, magnetic notions pouches/needle holsters... A great find! So good I wished that I lived in Maine. Prices quite reasonable compared to other similarly sized LYSs in Denver. If you're a crafter in town for vacay, you don't want to miss it. read more

Yarn Sellar - It's a good sign when I'm already instagramming before we walk in the door... - Knitting Supplies Near Me - York, Maine

One of my favorite places to visit every time we are in the area. Everything they sell is absolutely gorgeous. All the women who work here are just so sweet too! I never walk out empty handed! read more

Great yarn and great people. I've always felt welcome. No one hovers and are there to help when asked.

Stopped into this shop on the way home. I hoped it would be a great shop when I saw the full parking lot and I was not disappointed. The ladies working were friendly and the shop was full of yarn, but it was sorted in a way that made it easy to browse. There were lots of representations of beautiful projects, as well. I don't consider myself more than intermediate in my crochet skills so sometimes I feel overwhelmed in yarn shops but this one was welcoming. I'll definitely be back next time we drive through York. read more

wonderful yarn shop, wonderful people work here! very helpful if you have a question! they explained the set up of the yarns! excellent selection of yarns with patterns made for the yarn. lots to choose from! highly recommend this great shop! you will not be disappointed! read more

This store is tucked into a strip mall, with a store that sells our fancy holistic dog food, and a place to get decent sweet and sour chicken, so it gets points for one-stop shopping opportunity. The yarn selections are thoughtful and lovely. Lots of natural fiber yarns, organized well and in decently-sized bins. Some of my favorites are here, including Mountain Colors, Trekking, some of the nicer Berocco line, and a lot of standbys like Lamb's Pride and Cascade. The knit sock samples displayed were helpful. There's also a small stock of local yarns, which I always appreciate in local yarn stores. And the novelty yarns are hidden away in a corner, almost out of sight, like they have them in case you're into that sort of thing, but they would rather you work with nice, natural fiber, more classic yarn. I appreciate that. I picked up a skein of Noro Cashmere Island, and the salesperson was friendly and personable. Yay. read more

This yarn shop is located in a quaint little house on Route 1. As soon as I stepped in I saw many charming things, including Louet spinning wheels and accessories, artfully-fashioned metal orifice hooks, and hand-crafted yarn minders. On a table in the front is a large container of old fashioned buttons that you can sort through to pick out the ones you want. They carry items from Addi, Chiagoo, and Lantern Moon including the adorable tape measures that look like sheep. The yarn selection is respectable with selections for anyone's pocketbook. Plymouth Encore, Brown Sheep and Cascade yarns are well represented, along with nice yarns from local farms. There are sales on yarn; this weeks was Knitting Fever's Merino Flounce for $20 a skein. At the back of the store is a clearance shelf with discontinued and last of the lot skeins. The Yarn Sellar carries needle felting supplies including a large kit of different colors of fleece, a box of Romney fleece for spinning (the sheep, not the erstwhile Presidential candidate), books, patterns and notions. The interior is very homey, which makes sense because it's in a house. The best of it is the large table where you can sit and knit if you want. I wish I had a couple of hours to spend knitting there. The woman working there was very helpful and friendly. Next time I'm in the area, I plan to stop in again. read more

Wonderful, nice selection of yarns and accessories. If on a yarn crawl, this shop should be on the list.

Such a great find! I came on vacation with no knitting supplies and sought out this shop to get a relaxing project to work on. Usually when I go to a yarn store with no plan I just walk out with sock yarn (which is great) but this store had great samples to choose from! Also, lots of yarn selection, local and not so local. The owner helped me with yarn and a pattern and was very sweet. There were a handful of people in the shop and she did a great job attending to all of us. Wish this was my LYS!! read more

Stupid spelling and completely inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues. The scenery is ok while you're waiting in the car.

Wonderful place to find high quality yarn, but it is expensive. Friendly helpful staff.

I love this yarn store - wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, great selection of yarn and fiber for spinning as well as notions and books. I love this location - it's in a cute little house right on Rte 1 that has plenty of room for all of the yarn as well as two big tables and chairs for knitters/crocheters to settle in and enjoy knitting with great company. Definitely one of the best stores in the area! read more
