I love poking around and seeing what new things they have every time I visit York! They have such cute gift ideas.

The website said open. We drove to store at 10 am on a Saturday, and it was clearly closed.

I will stop the car so quickly, that I may potentially cause an accident, for the following…read more.. 1. Beautiful and/or historic cemeteries. 2. Abandoned insane asylums. 3. Extravagant candy stores. 4. Bizarre flea markets/yard sales. 5. Stores that specialize in prison inmate made products. I do not get to satisfy #5 very often, but I did at Woods to Goods. Not only is this stuff prison made, it's beautiful. Exquisite cutting boards (which I find so ironic), and wooden bowls that belong in West Elm, and that's just a taste! They also carry Prison Blues, jeans made by inmates in Oregon. The guys that were working there were very knowledgeable and friendly and allowed me plenty of time to browse. I bought a birdhouse that looks like the old Maine State Prison ($15) and a few wooden switch-plate covers ($4). Oh, and a macrame bracelet (made by guards - the inmates taught them how). Definitely drive out of your way to visit! When I am in Maine, I will be back!

Also featured are 'PRISON Blues' - A line of clothing stitched at the Eastern OREGON Correctional Facility in Pendleton, Oregon. Their theme is "Made on the Inside - To be worn on the Outside". 14.75 oz. cotton denim is used for the blue jeans (mens only, and reportedly are the only jeans made in the USA today...). T-shirts are designed and screen printed by the inmates there in sizes S thru 3X. We also carry items made by former inmates from Maine and New Hampshire. Check out our site@ Woods to Goods.com

Stopped in yesterday on my back to Boston from Ogunquit. What a wonderful shop! Large inventory…read moreof items including high end and moderately priced items. What caught my eye was the more "dressy" items that you normally don't see in a resort town shop mixed in with the more casual and "beach" clothing. This shop holds an amazing collection of clothes, accessories and gift items. The staff could not be more friendly or less intrusive! They are extremely welcoming and helpful.

Another year, another update. On vacation again, doing laundry again, and needed to spend the "dry…read moretime" so walked next door to Daisy Jane's. Still an aesthetically pleasing place to browse, and they have a select quantity of beautiful clothing, shoes, and accessories. So many lovely, quality items! This year I bought two ample-sized shawl/wrap/scarves (Daisy big wrap) for when it eventually gets cold (it was in the 80s the day I bought them, but I know winter is a-comin'). They are incredibly soft, and come in the most gorgeous colors (I bought one in a deep plum color, and another in a rich teal. I hate winter, but I will be prepared to keep warm in style. The wraps were just $24, and I already know I'll be getting many compliments when I wear these. I also bought a light, airy poncho that can be worn several ways. I bought one here last year--in indigo--and I wear it over solid-colored basics. I never fail to get compliments on it (and it adds just the right amount of light warmth and coverage, as well as a pop of color--sorry, I normally stay away from using overplayed terms like that, but it fits). It's the Van Klee poncho, just $22, and I got one in fuschia. I fell in lust with some of their fabulous jewelry but had to get back to my laundry. I think I'll be back before heading home on the weekend. As noted in my previous review, the ladies working in the shop were friendly and helpful, but not right on top of me as I shopped (thank you, thank you). This is my favorite shop in York.
