    Perkins Cove Pottery Shoppe...

The place to "Be": at the Most Beautiful Place by the Sea!!!.. Ogunquit Maine... This shoppe is just the best. Such eclectic items and the most beautiful pottery you could ever imagine. So many choices it is hard to choose. The owners John Clancy and John Ranco are just the sweetest kindest beings ever. So knowledgeable about all of their products. A lot of which are Maine based..... They also have a livestream every Saturday morning from 9-10 am before the shoppe opens. I watch it every Saturday as it makes me feel I am there.. lol.. And of course I always see something I need and when it arrives it is in perfect condition. The "shipping" dept. does a great job... We were just there the last week of July. I got to meet in person both John and John. I was so excited..and of course made a few purchases......Every time in Ogunquit this is a must visit place.. Thank you to both for raising the bar on "unique Gift Shoppes.... You and your team are simply the best....

Beautiful pottery, with a focus on that created by a local artisan named Chris Davis who is also one of the shop's owners!

I had planned on spending quite a bit of money in the store. The woman at the counter came up to me and very rudely told me there was no photo policy and pointed her finger in my face and then pointed to the "no photos" sign that was about the size of a business card. I started to apologize but she had already turned her back on me and walked back to the register counter. EXTREMELY RUDE. If this is how you treat your customers, good luck staying in business.

Whether you're shopping for yourself, family, friends or even pets, there's something eye-catching for almost everyone with a nautical style in mind. I purchased a few gifts for my Auntie-In-Law and my mom which were bagged so cute by Dawn. Thank you! Ogunquit has a lot of posh gift shops, the same way there are many "t-shirt" spots- but if there's one place you can do some serious sophisticated shopping at a small shop, it's here.

The people were so lovely that I was lulled into sense peaceful enjoyment...BUT, as I entered this store with my service dog, who is wearing her clearly marked service vest, the owner comes from around the corner. As she comes toward me, so does her aggressive dog. She looks at my dog and her service vest and says "she needs to wait outside, my dog is very aggressive and doesn't like other dogs...".I told that no, my dog can't "just wait outside, she needs stay with me". She looked expectantly at me, and I certainly do not want to be where I am not wanted. I said that my service dog and I can both outside, she said "yes, that would be best". I was stunned. Could I have made a big stink and told her what she was doing was against the law? Absolutely, and I will definitely do that when the person seems to truly be uneducated about the rights and responsibilities service dogs. This was definitely not that we were inconvenient to her in her store, and she wanted us out plain and simple. The owner was rude and dismissive. She is definitely not the embodiment of my experience in Olgunquit thankfully I wish this merchant education and enlightenment.

Not only is this stuff prison made, it's beautiful. Exquisite cutting boards (which I find so ironic), and wooden bowls that belong in West Elm, and that's just a taste! They also carry Prison Blues, jeans made by inmates in Oregon. The guys that were working there were very knowledgeable and friendly and allowed me plenty of time to browse. I bought a birdhouse that looks like the old Maine State Prison ($15) and a few wooden switch-plate covers ($4). Oh, and a macrame bracelet (made by guards - the inmates taught them how). Definitely drive out of your way to visit! When I am in Maine, I will be back!
