Antiquers rejoice! If you're driving up Route 1 on the antique trail, you do not want to miss Carriage House Antiques in York. Unlike other antique stores, this one does not have any musty/dusty odor. It's very clean, well organized, and while the selection is large, it's not "cluttered". You can find everything from small collectable figurines, to china and crystal stemware, to large furniture. Everything for sale was in great quality. The woman at the front desk was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions - certainly one of the nicest employees I've ever met at an antique store.
After browsing the isles, I found a set of green thumbprint goblets, wine glasses and sherbets - all 36 in perfect condition. After a quick call to the dealer, I was offered an even lower price and each glass was wrapped up for safe travel. Before heading there, double check the hours of operation because we were told it was the last day of the season for their store (November 12th). I can't wait to stop back on our next trip to Southern Maine to see what other great finds there are! read more
