She was very nice and kind. I called her and she was the only one willing to help me print resumes on a Saturday and then when I asked her how much she told me just pay it forward I certainly will I never write reviews, NEVER, but this lady was so sweet and she deserves to win the lottery. I love her her soul, her attitude, and she seems very positive even though our interaction was short. I wish her the best read more

I love yarn stores, but I love yarn stores that are unique like this one is, not big box stores. The lady that helped my daughter was friendly, but I had to remind my daughter to have her yarn wound up, which she forgot to ask. But, I found the reason for why it might be better to leave it in a hank, "When yarn is wound, it puts tension on the fiber. This is fine for a while, but left that way long-term it can slowly stretch the yarn. If you don't think you will get to the project for a few months or years, do yourself and your yarn a favor and hold off on winding"... copy of the link below: (https://twistedyarnshop.com/blogs/news/q-a-why-doesnt-all-yarn-come-wound-and-ready-to-work-with) Also bought a set of ChiaoGoo stainless steel needles for $200++ Pricey, but my daughter loves it! read more

My review needs an update. Yarn Folk has become my favorite yarn shop. I've been to a few others in the PNW, and I keep coming back to Yarn Folk. Most months, I make one trip in, maybe two. By my second or third visit, Ann (the owner) remembered my name. She has this amazing balance of being kind and welcoming while also allowing me to browse with no forced conversation or hovering. When I speak with her about projects, she is encouraging and interested. Recently, she mentioned a colorway that was out of stock at the vendor and offered to order it for me as soon as it was available. 3 weeks later, the vendor still hadn't restocked but Ann found two hanks hidden at the back of a display. Ann emailed me to let me know they were available and she was holding them for me in case I still wanted them. In addition to the inventory (which boasts a very solid selection in brands, weights, colorways, and fiber-content) Ann could easily teach a master-class in customer service. Stop in and say hi, give Yarn Folk a follow on social media, and check out the inventory on their website. I'm confident that you will be glad you did. read more

Great yarns and truly beautiful knitted displays. I asked the owner how many years of work her handiwork represented, and she told me it was about ten years' worth. She is an excellent knit-crafter. I only wish I had a shop like this in my own town. read more

This place is awesome. I went here when I first moved to Ellensburg, SO relieved to find a yarn store. The women who work here are very kind and helpful if needed. I always feel welcomed and comfortable. The yarn selection is great. All price ranges available. They have a wide selection of weights, materials, etc. in beautiful colors. I've never had them not have what I needed. They have cute yarn/knitting related pins and stickers and such at checkout. I absolutely love it. One of my favorite places in Ellensburg. read more

Yarn Folk - Ann winding up my pretty new yarn! Thank you! - Knitting Supplies Near Me - Ellensburg, Washington

I shopped here when traveling through Ellensburg 3-4 years ago. I fell in love with a beautiful shawl...got the pattern and yarn and went on my merry way. When I got stuck with the pattern, I put it aside and have not returned to it until today. Unfortunately, the pattern cannot be found anywhere in my stash. I called the shop and they knew what pattern I was looking for and emailed me the link to find it again at Ravelry. I now have the pattern printed and my knitting needles are ready to begin again. I can only say this is the most amazing yarn shop and owner I have encountered in years...thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

She has a great selection but isn't a warm person in the slightest. I felt really uncomfortable both times I was in here. The first time I thought "it's not her, it's me," and so I bought some yarn, worked on a project, and then headed in again a few days later. I bought more of the same yarn and then vowed not to shop here again, which is unfortunate because I'm in Ellensburg regularly. read more

Nice selection of yarn. Owner helped me find the quick project I was looking for. Wish I lived closer to take advantage of classes.

An amazing little yarn shop in the heart of downtown Ellensburg. Great colorful selection of moderately priced yarns. A fun place to browse if you are a yarn lover. Huge selection of knitting supplies. I only crochet and found unique yarns to use. read more

Comfy cozy, relaxing and stylish atmosphere; Good selection of yarns & knitting needles, such as: Addi (of course), Clover, Knitters Pride & my favorite Hiya Hiya, including interchangeable sets in both brands. Very helpful & knowledgeable ... ... There is a big table around which I would love to hang-out, join-in, and make friends with the rest of the knitters - if only I lived in Ellensberg ... ... But we were only stopping-in midway during our end-of-Summer roadtrip *sigh* they all looked like they were having such a fun & relaxing afternoon. read more
