We initially decided to drive past by but since we were in the area, we decided to give it a try and actually go inside. Glad that we did. We had lunch at Fire, did a flight of wines at Jones of Washington, bought cheese at the Cheesemonger, had gelato at Ice and topped it with a london fog from Cafe Columbia.

If you come early enough to get a good parking spot (I arrived an hour early) don't get a spot right at the edge of the market. You'll be closer to the stalls with good stuff if you go further in to find a parking spot. 3. If you show up an hour early for your parking spot. You'll be twiddling your thumbs for a while because about half of the stalls won't open until a solid hour after the OFFICIAL start time of the flea market. 4. This flea market is ENORMOUS. It practically encompasses the entire town of Packwood. Be prepared to walk a lot if you want to see everything. Most vendors are also cash only, tons of food vendors, freeze dried candies, lots of old and new antique and power tools, clothes and random knick knacks.. and tacos lol.. tons of taco vendors. Took us about 4 hours to walk thru half of the tents. Wear layers, comfy shoes, bring a wagon for sure. People were super friendly and although some prices were way too high, others were willing to make a bargain.

The weird part was they just handed me a cone straightup with no napkin or paper, which was kind of gross considering I was about to pay and they expected me to hold that while getting my card out, and overall just wasn't super hygenic since I wasn't prepared to have freshly cleaned hands walking in there - luckily they weren't dirty but still, I've never been handed a cone like that before! Also wouldve been helpful for people to have a list of flavors to look at before getting to the front of the line bc a lot were non-"standard" flavors and it took a sec for everyone to actually read them through. My friend and I also looked the store and things seemed quite pricey but it's always good to support local and buy fresh produce!

The top 2 floors have every antique collection you can imagine. The resold items were clean and in great condition. Impressive amount of records, matchbox cars, comic books. My son and I stopped for coffee, not realizing what a "find" the antique store is. Believe me, at my age (mid-seventies) I've been in hundreds of antique stores, most of which border on being 2nd-hand shops or glorified flea-markets. Not so, Antique Mall in Cashmere! This is the best cross-section of Americana I've ever seen. It claims to be 15,000 square feet of antiques and it is every bit of that and more! Here's what they've done right: 1) There's no flea-market junk. Everything displayed qualifies as a keep-sake. 2) Each item is displayed with respect on it's own foot-print of space, not crowded against or stacked on top of another. 3) Prices are clearly marked and designated as "each", or "per set", or the number of pieces. 4) Most items are clean and well lighted--appear showcase ready! 5) Multiple rooms or nooks are theme-related, so if you're interested in tools, or magazines, or German mugs, or fishing gear, or tableware, or vintage signage--there's a section for you! 6) Several salespeople are readily available to help you find what you're interested in. 7) The coffee shop on site, and spacious restrooms can make this store a whole day event. There really is that much to see. If you live on the coast and are "into" antique hunting, the 2-1/2 hour drive from Seattle is worth the trip just to see this store.
