Is there really no entry in Yelp for this phenomenon? You will not get the real feel for it unless you go. It takes up the entire town. This is not an exaggeration. If there is an empty spot, it is filled with a booth. We took about three hours and managed to visit nearly every booth, though we did not tarry for long at any. Lots of delicious food options as you might expect at a fair (corndogs, popcorn, funnel cake, tacos, etc.) We found the merchandise on display, which is new, used, and antique, to be geared towards men, in terms of there are a lot of tools, military surplus, and work clothes; and geared towards lovers of hispanic food and gifts. One of the booths could have been straight out of the mercado I used to visit in Albuquerque. It was fun to see treats I had not seen in some time, since we don't get as much of it up in King County, i.e. mango with hot sauce, those wheel fried chip thingees (sorry what are they called???) also with hot sauce. YUM.
One end, closer to the main junction, clearly has more "high end" and newer stuff.
Everyone was very nice. You could tell people come every year and most were WAY more prepared than we were, as in bringing wagons to haul their loot, backpacks, kids in backpacks, dogs in backpacks (tons of dogs, all very well behaved). Just twice a year. Worth a visit. read more
