Got ice cream here that was quite the popular choice on one of the first sunny days of Spring! The flavors were creative, but tasted mild. Not bad but not the best! The weird part was they just handed me a cone straightup with no napkin or paper, which was kind of gross considering I was about to pay and they expected me to hold that while getting my card out, and overall just wasn't super hygenic since I wasn't prepared to have freshly cleaned hands walking in there - luckily they weren't dirty but still, I've never been handed a cone like that before! Also wouldve been helpful for people to have a list of flavors to look at before getting to the front of the line bc a lot were non-"standard" flavors and it took a sec for everyone to actually read them through. My friend and I also looked the store and things seemed quite pricey but it's always good to support local and buy fresh produce! read more

The top 2 floors have every antique collection you can imagine. The resold items were clean and in great condition. Impressive amount of records, matchbox cars, comic books. I'm surprised to see how low the overall reviews to this place are! There's definitely some ups and downs with pricing of certain items, so I can understand the comparisons of the area being on par with a specialty Safeway. I used to stop by this area once a year, and buy some honey sticks, ice cream, or taffy to take on the road. I do feel that the taffy prices have increased significantly, so that is a little sad. However, I'm always impressed by the price and quality of their ice cream and drinks. I got a 20 oz vanilla chai for only $3.75!! And it was such a delicious drink too, like a warm cinnamon roll. I think the single scoop of ice cream is around the same price, and it's a good amount too. The lavender caramel flavor is my favorite! If you're ever in the area, I recommend stopping by to look around! And definitely go for some drinks and ice cream! read more

Thorn's is an Oasis on your way or back from Ellensburg on Interstate 90. Well lit with huge letters painted on their white facade, this is a great place to stop for a restroom break, to stretch your legs, and to shop. The primary business is the farmers market with fresh fruits and veggies, with seasonal specials. Always crowded, but still plenty of square footage to browse, and go to some taste testing. I'm most impressed with their large selection of locally produced sauces and dressings. It's easy to want 'one of everything' here! The top two floors are like old-fashioned flea markets, full of trinkets and treasures. You can make a day of it if you're into that kind of hunting. This place is a must stop for me every time I'm on that route. Great ice cream, too, for those hot Central Washington days! read more

I love stopping here whenever we head from the coast to Spokane. They have a bit of everything. Some delicious, albeit spendy jams and honeys and syrups and condiments and fruits and veggies and candy and popcorn and more! So much to see. Great place to buy some gifts for the gourmand in your life. If you like collectibles, the upstairs is the place to go and find a treasure. It's really a fun place to peruse and stretch your legs from a long journey. They're not the friendliest check out people, but I don't care. I'm not there to make friends, but it would be nice to get greeted with a hello or a smile. The young man checking me out didn't even make eye contact. Oh well. The place gets a 4 star. This review is purely based off of the ice cream shop because I unfortunately thought the rest of the produce seemed overpriced and I was just looking for a sweet treat. My friends and I always drive past this spot whenever we're going to and from the gorge and I've always been curious about what they had to offer inside the giant barn. To my very pleasant surprise, I found some of my favorite ice cream in the state! There's a great selection of flavors that rotates pretty often - I got the caramel lavender and it was delicious! The ice cream was rich, flavorful, and perfectly creamy. It wasn't incredibly hard, and on the more melty side but I honestly kinda liked that. It's definitely a refreshing treat for a long drive, and I'll definitely come back whenever I have a long drive. read more

Always cold during Winter here as it is an open barn warehouse type building. A very enjoyable stop, nonetheless. Great for stretching your legs, getting the circulation flowing. There is a gas and convenience store with a descent hot food case in the same parking lot. Many Stonewall gourmet food products, hand soap and lotions, to bring as a hostess gift where ever your travels may take you. But seemingly vendors probably base prices off one another because I'd say 80-90% of the vendors are overpriced. And I mean REALLY. Lol. I value antiques and that these are cool rare items! It's been in the same family ever since. i've driven past it for years on my way back to Boise from Washington. I stopped and visited for the first time in September 2022. There weren't many antiques, and the fresh fruit wasn't as good as what I had seen closer to the Puget sound. However, there was taffy in every flavor imaginable, and some interesting who products. I appreciated that they had a lot of Stonewall Kitchen. I took lots of pictures so you can get a sense of what to expect. This place is just not what you think it's gonna be. Fruit and vegetables are not cheaper, everyone thinks they're going to go get a great deal and be closer to the farmers, but it's just another Safeway with overpriced cheese and picked over fruit and vegetables. For all the years that we've been driving by this place, it was fun to finally go inside and check it out. It's a gigantic fruit mall next to the gas station just outside of Ellensburg, in Thorpe. They've got tons of different fruit options, though the more impressive thing is the number of other items for sale. The place is big and about 70% of it filled with different accompaniments like jams, jellies, different honeys, meats and cheeses, and all sorts of trinkets. They have a ton of local stuff and plenty that you probably haven't seen before, but that you will find interesting! Our favorite recent find here with some lavender lemonade that's made in the area. It's tough to find elsewhere, but they've got a good stock of it. It was nice to finally get to try it! It's a quick stop off the freeway, have a great spot to grab a box of peaches or some pepper jelly for friends, when you're going up the mountains! read more

A fun little pit stop in the middle of nowhere. I've driven past this place multiple times, but I finally decided to check it out after my friend raved to me about the ice cream they have here. The ice cream is from Winegar's Coffee and Creamery based out of Ellensburg and WOW, it was heavenly rich and super creamy. I asked for one scoop of the Lavender Salted Caramel into a cup and the worker proceeded to scoop up the largest dollop I've ever seen, then proceeded to go in for a SECOND massive scoop of EQUAL magnitude. She did the same for my friend and when I revisited this place to try more of their ice cream on a different day I was met with similar service. See pic of my overflowing cup of lavender salted caramel ice cream for only $3! If anything, stop by this place to try their ice cream! It's so so rich and creamy, and they offer multiple flavors you can sample before purchasing. My favorite is definitely the lavender salted caramel, but gary dough (maple ice cream with cookie dough) is great too! The ice cream does melt fast though so eat it quickly! When I visited around Thanksgiving they even had several large bins of FREE decorative pumpkins! They sell lots of fruit here as well for a cheap price, however I wasn't all that impressed with the quality. Lots of bruised up, soft, and buggy infested apples and pears. The fruit here is unwaxed though unlike fruit you may find at the grocery stores, so if that's your thing you may want to try your luck here and hopefully find some good ones. I thought the produce was over priced. There also wasn't a large selection of produce. There was a lot of other packaged food to buy though. There was an interesting variety of things. I was disappointed that there were many employees not wearing masks during a time when a state wide mask mandate is in place for indoors during a pandemic. They had fresh ice cream that you could get in cones. They had some flavors that sounded really good. read more

"I like to buy my fruit where I get my antiques," said no one ever, but you know, out here off of the side of the freeway, they have a fun thing going. It's not the only fruit/antique barn around, but it's one of the most notable, to be sure. I visited in the time of COVID and the open air barn part was nice, so it was a fun stop to make. However, we didn't venture up to the antiques (I actually can't say if they are open up there) but just ducked in to get some fruit. Unfortunately, that's where I wish things were a bit stronger. They did have some local peaches, and of course you're subject to the seasons, but beyond some local peaches and boxes of apples at a good deal, it's really just a lot of supermarket-shipped-in stuff when it comes to fruit. Don't let that discourage you, though, as you have a lot of fun gifts to pick from. We grabbed some taffy and looked at some more unique handmade-y looking items that round out the whole experience. I love stopping at fruit stands on road trips. On the way back to Seattle, I saw this giant white building with large lettering that read CHERRIES and i immediately pulled over. It's just off of the highway. There is a large parking lot. The ground floor is fruits and veggies and dried fruits and jams and pickles and stuff like that. The second floor is where their antique shop is (they had old Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys book, cowboy boots, Life magazines, plates, cups, and bowls, and all kinds of random stuff). I spent most of my time on the ground floor. It's early summer which means CHERRY SEASON. They had a variety called strawberry rainier which i had never heard of, so i got a bag of those plus a bag of the regular rainier cherries (which the per pound price was so cheap compared to what you'll find at normal grocery stores). They also had chelan cherries which looked good too. They also were selling gorgeous asparagus for cheap so i also bought a large bundle of that. I also bought a jar of preserves which wasn't local to WA, but i needed more jam and it was peach apricot flavor! This was a fun stop to break up the drive home! It's a good place to move the legs some, plus there's a restroom too! They accept card and the cashier was really nice. There's also a cafe inside where you can get coffees or ice cream! The next road trip I take in that direction will for sure include a stop at Thorp Fruit - i want to see what other seasonal produce they have in other seasons! read more

What's not to like about this place? My wife and I were wanting a snack, and the giant Thorp Fruit Mall sudden appeared by the side of the road. We got honey crisp apples, strawberries, yogurt covered peanuts, organic snickerdoodles, trail mix, and an oatmeal cookie. I wanted to try the huckleberry popcorn, but I figured we had enough road-trip food to last the rest of the day. I was super excited to stop here because I love fruit stands. We drove 25 min to just come here... It was not worth it. The fruits and vegetables were pretty pricy. We thought the prices would be a little more affordable but everything was much more expensive than at Costco. This place has probably been around for decades, but I just heard of it a year ago. It is obviously popular, because since I hard of it, a week hasn't gone by that it comes up in conversation. I expected a ton of fruit and rare collectables for a reasonable price. There was hardly any fruit, but since winter isn't over, that makes sense. The collectables were mostly trash, but more than that was the fact that they were all over priced. Records of groups I never heard of selling for $10, 45's for $8. I saw 8 tracks, but didn't look at them, however, I can only assume there were $3 to $5. However, the most surprising collection was the 100+ blackface Jiggaboo collection of prints. At $10 each, it would be a handsome sum to buy even if it was to take it out of circulation. Snacks for sale were overpriced. Soda for $2 even thought it would be $.99 at an corner store. A hand full of nuts for $8 even though any drug store would sell the same package for $3-$4. This place was a complete waste of time and Anyone spending cash here would have to be a complete sucker. read more

I stopped by this place while travelling from Pullman to Seattle. There is a gas station adjacent to this mall that has relatively cheap gas. The mall itself is a cross between a grocery store and an antique shop, as the name suggest. The building itself resembles a large barn and is three stories tall with the antiques spread over the top two floors. I found the items in there to be overpriced and of mediocre quality. For instance, the fruits do not look any fresher than what I would have gotten from Fred Meyer or Safeway. read more

It's a giant tourist trap that sucks you in after you've been driving for miles on that godforsaken highway. On the ground floor, they have a bunch of different food, some fresh, some packaged. They also have booze and candy. The top two floors of this mega barn are dedicated to antiques. Some things are more antique than others. DVDs are not antiques. NSYNC dolls are not antiques. Some areas are more "garage sale" or "craft fair" than "antique store." But it's nice to get out and stretch your legs and look at some goofy old junk. I didn't buy anything, though. read more

I love places like this. It's a fruit stand with a lot of other stuff. Now, I have no interest in antiques, so that doesn't interest me, but if I did I'm sure I'd find something that I like here because there are A LOT of antiques. There are two floors; the upper floor is all antiques and a portion of the main floor has many as well. But that's not why I go here. It's for the country feel, the fruit, the ice cream cones and the jams, jellies, sauces, syrups, chutney's, SORGHUM! - yes they have sorghum! - which I need for my Christmas Cookies I make every year and send off to the relatives, and other goodies. It's basically a fiesta of specialty foods. During fruit season they have a lot of fruit, but since their fruit is local you're not going to find a lot of fruit out of season. We decided to check this place out after camping over there for the weekend. The fruit selection looked fresh and there were lots of local food goods that were there which I appreciate since I love supporting local. The antique store itself is great if you are into collectibles and vintage goods . My most favorite thing however had to be hands down the ice cream !
