When one is venturing up to the mountains (of the Cascades, namely near White Pass or Chinook Pass) for some downhill skiing, snowboarding, or crosscountry skiing this is THE place to stop at for rentals. I've been going here for years, and the guy who I always see there is really nice and knowledgeable--he's always got a smile. They have a nice selection of rental equipment as well as some used and new gear for sale. They're also super cheap. For a full crosscountry set up, it only costs $10/day ($1 for insurance). During the summer this shop switches over to a fruit stand selling lots of local goodies. I think they also rent Kayaks and river stuff. read more

We dragged our poor, road-weary selves in because of the big "Coffee" sign we saw while driving by. We received a friendly greeting and big smiles, but alas, no coffee. It seems the shop had closed an hour or so earlier and they were just sitting out front enjoying a chat and a drink of something. The fellow who seemed to run the joint was so apologetic that his coffee machine wasn't up and running. He took us over to the cooler and recommend certain of the pre-bottled coffee drinks that he had there. We each got a caffeinated beverage and wandered around looking at the local delicacies (huckleberry jam? oh, yes, please). All the while we had a nice conversation with the proprietor (I really need to start asking for names if I'm going to write reviews!). It was a pleasant stop, especially considering that we were pretty whiney for a decent cup of coffee. We didn't actually get what we were there for, but we got great service and a chat with a nice man. read more

I am so surprised there aren't more current reviews here because it really deserves LOTS of positive. Not fancy dancy anything, but fabulous service and amazing prices compared to the surrounding county stops. I didn't have enough room in my refrigerator to keep the cherries until I left town 3 days later, so he kept them for me! Stopped on my way out of town and picked them up no problem. Super, super nice. read more
