Our room was beautiful, immaculately clean, had a lovely view of the lake and the bed was very comfortable. There is SO much to do onsite: Guiseppe's Ristorante had wonderful pizza and menu with live guitar music and later DJ/dancing, Waterfall Cafe for a great breakfast or lunch. The Cascade Spa onsite looks wonderful. Also other dining spots in walking distance at their sister sites: Lago, Lakeouse, Camp, etc... The Marketplace on site has lots of shops, bookstore, ice cream, coffee, and we were lucky enough to be there the weekend of a craft festival! There's so much to do in Meredith, a local winery, distillery, theater...they give you The Weekly Innsider when you check in, which lists all of the above and more to do which was a nice touch. The next time we will stay longer. It's a beautiful town as well.

First, the positive. We stayed at Bay Point and the view from the room and porch were wonderful…read more Here is the bad: When we arrived to check in (over 1/4 mile from our hotel/ Bay Point), we were told that "it looks like your room is ready, but we can't reach housekeeping to confirm. Give me your phone number and I will call you when I hear back". We checked after one hour and were told the same thing. When we approached a third time, the same person at the desk said: "I've been so busy, I didn't have time to call you". Many other people were arriving after 4PM and being told that their rooms were not ready yet. There is no staff on site at Bay Point to assist with any issues. The only permanent staff is over 1/4 mile away. We arrived at our room, and the refrigerator was not working properly and the safe was locked. We used the in-room phone to call three different departments that were direct-dial buttons on our phone. No answer. The front desk button was answered with "please hold", which I did for 10 minutes, finally hanging up. I dialed again and the same thing happened. This time I hung up after 5 minutes and then called the hotel using an outside line. That call was answered and within about 15 minutes, the maintenance person arrived. He was wonderful and very helpful. Other issues included that the latch to our hotel room door chain was missing, the battery in our keyless entry for the door died and we were locked out of our room at night, so we had to call the main building to get another service person to replace it (again, he was very nice). We paid $36 per day for a resort fee which really got you nothing other than use of the pool which again was over 1/4 mile away. There was a coffee machine in the lobby, but with no one on site to manage it, the coffee would be gone by 7:30 am. You had to call to get your room made up each day, but again there were issues with getting a phone call answered. We had to call housekeeping because the soap in the shower was empty. Again, the housekeeping person was very nice. Finally, if I had to do it all over again, I would stay at the main inn and never one of the three off-site locations. However, parking there is horrendous. We won't be back.

When we peeled back the bed sheets, there was a brown streak stain. The balcony was beautiful and offered a great view of Lake Winnipesaukee. However, it was unusable because of the amount of spider webs and insects inhabiting it. Unfortunately, this lodging was unacceptable and we did not end up staying the night.

Outside and down below the balcony was the outdoor seating area of the cafe restaurant and the parking lot. It was too annoying to sit outside on the balcony with the kitchen smells and noises and loud conversations of patrons enjoying their meal. The lake view was half obstructed by a tree shading the patio of the restaurant below. When I tried to change from this unacceptable room to one that was more acceptable they left me waiting for about 45 mins with no call back. When I called back after that 45 mins, they still said they were trying to switch the room. At that point, I was tired of waiting and accepted the room. I would not recommend this hotel. There was no mention of some compensation for my extreme disappointment with the room or of perhaps another room tomorrow I would find acceptable. Again, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Had made deposits on two weekends, in January and I gave proper notice to cancel at least 10 days in advance on one weekend rental and at least 8 days on the other weekend rental. The policy of the rental deposit is if they able to re-book, they refund you your deposit back. The policy on website rental is, a minimum rental of 2 nights must be booked on Sat/Sun nights, or Sun/Mon nights in advance. They split up my rental bookings when they booked it both times(in other words, they rented Saturdays singly, and both Sunday nights, or Sunday and Monday nights were left out there singly alone). So, the rentals that they put out, were not the same rentals, as when I rented them. Hey, they are the owners, they can do what they want, but to rent for part of my rental period, and keep all of my deposit, just seems crappy. They then have refused to return any portion of either of my deposits. I have proof for both. Poor business practices in my opinion. I called and emailed multiple times, to inquire about why my two deposits had not been returned after they had re-booked, albeit under different rules, that they created. I spoke to the new property manager, they did not know what to say, or how to address my questions. They had to talk to the new owners. Never got back to me. So, in essence, BEWARE, if you have to cancel due to illness. Your deposit won't be returned or put on a future date. This is not like the previous owners, who were some very special people, very flexible people, who cared about their clients, and families, who made relationships that lasted a lifetime. Who wanted people to return to their cabins year after year. These new owners care about the almighty dollar bill. That's okay. I won't be going back.
