Yankee Stadium or simply referred to as "The Stadium" was opened in 2009 to replace the old, aging and original Yankee Stadium which was located across the street. I'm a Mets fan and if you ask me, I prefer the old digs much better. It had more character, charm and history. For example, Monument Park is relegated to a small area past the center field fence that is covered by the "gasp" Field Sports Bar. All the monuments, plaques and tributes to past Yankees are crammed into a very small area. In the old stadium it was past the left field fence between the bullpens and was way more spacious and open. The groundskeepers had a vegetable garden nearby. They installed netting over it to prevent home runs from hitting anything or anyone who was in the park during batting practice or a game. Granted the new stadium is modern and has many dining options. Yes, I said dining! The old stadium had no such thing as "dining." Hot dogs, peanuts, pretzels and beer in the old place and now, you can just about get anything you want, at a big price. Also, there are advertisement signs EVERYWHERE!!! Hey, you gotta bring in a lot of revenue to pay these players, I get it. A question many may ask, what's the bathroom situation. Answer, not enough! Lines were long when we went. Another, how long is the beer line. Answer, it's not just beer but they have full service bars. This probably had a direct impact on the bathroom lines. We went last month for game three of the 2024 World Series. It was our first time back in nine years. My son is a monster Yankee fan and I said why not. Yankees lost 4-2 to LA. However, we had fun and it was a memorable experience. Ticket prices, don't ask lol. Word to the wise, take public transportation here especially on games that will be sold out. Parking is expensive and sparse. The traffic getting in and out is atrocious. They run extra 4 & D trains but they will be packed and you may wait but it beats sitting in dead stop traffic for an hour getting out. For baseball fans this is probably a bucket list trip. They are the Yankees, one of the most iconic sports franchises in the world and a big tourist draw in the City so regular game day tickets have shot up in cost as well. If you go have fun. read more

So I don't have much to compare to. I've only been to a few baseball stadiums. So this for me would be my 5/5. As for food, we shared this burger, my friends called the Aaron Judge burger (was that the real name I dunno).anyways it was so good! I think my friends said it was a wagyu burger. They got it and started in on it before I got back from the restroom so no pic lol. Place is huge with tons of food stalls and they even have a steak house in there too. read more

There is just something about Yankee stadium that reminds me of all my childhood memories. Although this is the new stadium, it still gives you the same feels, especially since now I'm able to bring my own children and create my own memories here with them. Yankee fans are amazing! The energy of the fans is like no other. The seats are comfortable. The views of the beautiful field are amazing. Going through security was quick. The walkways are very spacious, so there is enough room for everyone to walk and not bump into each other. There are a variety of food concessions stands to choose from. There is plenty of parking lots to park. The bathroom was kept cleaned. What an amazing game, New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics. We had amazing seats. We sat at section 116 Row 3 Seat 5-10. We had balls flying left and right around us. We were one of the lucky fans to catch a ball that night. Can not wait to return for another game. Until next time, LET'S GO YANKEES! read more

This was my first time at the stadium. I attended the World Series game 5. I do not have anything negative to say. The stadium was very average compared to other mlb stadiums. There were some fans that were rude but that was expected, however a majority of the fans were very classy especially when the Dodgers won and ended the series. A lot of fans came up to us to congratulate us and offer to take pictures. Overall it was the best experience due to the win. read more

Stadium Tour Series (Yankee Stadium), Part 1 In 2007 I had the good fortune of visiting the "old" Yankee Stadium during one of its final years of existence. If that was the "House That Babe Ruth Built" then I guess the "new" one is the "House That George Steinbrenner Built." Although it's obviously been awhile between visits, I was curious to learn how much has changed and how many of the Yankee traditions have been carried on. Well for sure this version is also cavernous. While it may be known for having a "short porch" in right field, I just cannot imagine someone hitting a ball that can reach the upper deck. While I expected the prices to be astronomical, I was surprised that they seemed on par with other stadiums that we've visited recently. Also surprising was the comfort of our padded seats (which were easily the most comfortable stadium seats that we've ever enjoyed). The new stadium also offers the opportunity to see in person just how gigantic Aaron Judge is. I mean if you stand next to Juan Soto and make him appear to be diminutive, you are an extra large human. I remember Yankee great Derek Jeter saying that the "ghosts" of former players added a certain presence at the old stadium that I can't say I quite detected at this new one. Speaking of former players, they've now retired so many numbers it's a wonder they have any left to assign the current players! Something fun that I don't recall from the old stadium was the grounds crew acting out the motions of "YMCA" while dragging the infield after the 6th inning. The tradition of iconic public address announcer Bob Sheppard has not continued (because of his retirement in 2010), but I'm thankful that the singing of "God Bless America" remains a staple of the 7th Inning Stretch, as well as "Ol' Blue Eyes" belting out the "Theme From New York, New York" after each victory by the home team. Something else that remains is the merciless "feedback" offered to the umpire by the crowd when they disapprove of his calls (as they chant the same choice of specific profanity in unison). Although large crowds are typical here, we were impressed at the efficiency with which the subway system transported such a large number of people (even after the game). Yankees vs Dodgers, World Series games 4 and 5, me a big Dodger fan, every other world out of these Yankee fans were the F bombs and MF cussing- with little kids around!!!! Every visit to Yankee Stadium is a magical experience. From my very first experience as a toddler witnessing Derek Jeter's one and only career grand slam, to my grandfather being honored and celebrated as Veteran of the Game, to just a few days ago witnessing Aaron Judge's first career ejection (lol), these are core memories that will last forever. From when my grandfather was honored as Veteran of the Game alone, I could tell how organized and professional the staff was. Especially Mike Pereira, who stayed in constant communication with me right up until that very day, making sure I knew where to park, where to go, and what to do. Most recently, I finally got to visit monument park. I would recommend coming really early if you want to walk through Yankees history here. On May 4th, we got there early enough to get the bobble head but got to monument park so late we were basically being ushered out as soon as we got in. This is not to say that the staff was abrasive at all. In fact the complete opposite, yet again proving the integrity of everyone who works there. The team member closing monument park remembered my uncle and my grandpa as they had recently attended another game before this one (and also visited monument park then as well). We were the last ones to leave as we were chatting with him because he was so friendly! read more

Stands seem poorly run and take forever. Prep not done right for when stadium opens (hottest day of year and the slushies are still full liquid an hour after gates open???). Ice cream stand has 3 people standing around and takes 7-8 min per order to fill from a soft serve machine. Kids dogs are advertised but not available because they decided not to prepare. This place has no heart or soul, crappy ambiance and poor service. 2 stars it is... at least it doesn't stink of urine and have crappy seats like Fenway. read more

A truly excellent experience here seeing the Yankees play the Red Sox. It didn't even matter that the Yankees lost. Our seats were in section 230, row 18, and we were in the shade the entire game. The crowd was super friendly and fun. We stayed until the game was over, and they had played Sinatra's "New York, New York" at least 5 times. read more

It has to be small items, and fruits like apples, oranges have to be cut in half so people don't throw it into the field. read more

Every seat in this stadium has a great view including bleacher seats. We were lucky to be in the 200 section 2nd row so we were right in front of the action. So many food options here you can get lost trying to select meals but we opted for a 99 burger which was on par with 5 guys or shake shack If you're a fan, and a bucket of chicken tenders and fries. The line to get in the stadium was huge but we got through it in only about 5 minutes. So quick! Parking is convenient there are lots everywhere and we had about a 5 min walk to the stadium. Public transportation via subway or the bus is another option. Only downside this night was that they were giving away a Juan Soto figurine but only in one of the entrances so we weren't able to get one. Yankee stadium is one of my favorite MLB stadiums that I have been to. Really good views from seats, extremely accessible from the subway, easy to enter and exit, and overall just aesthetically pleasing. Food options are as id expect, but it should definitely be a bit cheaper. Security lines are a little long to go through, but again still easy to commute it and enjoy a Yankees game. One area where Yankee Stadium could improve is the affordability of certain concessions and merchandise. Prices can be steep, which may limit options for some fans. However, the overall experience and atmosphere make up for this drawback. read more

I'm gonna be biased here.....but this is a place if you grew up a Yankee fan that was hallowed ground. Now this place doesn't give me the same vibe as the old stadium. Ruth didn't roam right field here. That being said it's still pretty great. I got to visit a luxury suite here which added to the occasion. Especially great was the parking pass. The suites are really nice. The field is beautiful.....the improvements in the stadium are the tunnels and interior......the old stadium was cramped. The new stadium does not bring the same intimidation, noise, or intimacy. This is the reason for the four stars. It's New York so your gonna deal with inflated prices.....it's a fact of life. If your a Yankee fan it's still a great place to see a game. read more

However the opponent strikeout whistle gets annoying fast, and ESPN's gushing biased of the Yankees seems unfair to the rest of the league. Biggest knock on Yankee Stadium is the ride share access. Ah, the first day of summer. What does it mean to for me? Nature, BBQ, beach and.. yes.. baseball. Thus, my journey to 161st Street today was truly special. My seat was in Centerfield! " Oh, put me in, coach I'm ready to play today Put me in, coach I'm ready to play today Look at me, I can be centerfield " My agenda for today's visit as a die hard Yankee fan was simple. As I rode the D train to 161st Street, a place where legends take the field, I made a short list: Watch history continue to unfold, show support and root for my team ( win or lose) and witness the greatness of Aaron Judge. Crossing the street to the Stadium and just looking at this enormous building, brought out a huge smile on my face. My mobile ticket was scanned and I entered Gate 6. The Yankees legends adorned the walls as I walked to Section 136. I thought about Jeter, Rivera, Martinez, Williams, Posada the team I grew up with and yes, George Steinbrenner. I found my seat in Centerfield, stood up for the Anthem and my spirit soared as each Yankee players names were announced. The heat was sweltering but myself and the rest of the fans didn't care, we were at the game and the adrenaline was high. Unfortunately, Luis Gil, starting pitcher didn't have his stuff and gave up 6 runs in two innings. I thought about my goals for today: Support this team win or lose. Did I? Yes, I rooted, I screamed but still clapped as hard as I could. I cursed my luck because I wanted to see Gerrit Cole pitch his first day back from rehab but he pitched the night before, drats! I visited the concession stand between innings and ordered fries and a Coke in a Yankees souvenir cup. The score is now 6-1 and Gil is replaced by another unknown, to me, pitcher who gets us out of a bases loaded jam. Next up, who else? Number 99, Aaron Judge. He's patient at the bat, strike one and two called, ball one, then two and then.. you know the way the ball smacks the bat.. it's a home run.. he hits a home run. The stadium is now rocking like the sound of thunder. I'm on my feet, screaming and can't believe what I've witnessed..magic. I start to feel the goosebumps. I left at the Top of the 6th, score 11-5 Orioles. Am I crushed? No. Do I feel defeated? No. I took one look at the stadium as I departed to catch the Brooklyn bound D train and smiled. I know tomorrow the Yankees are going to get back at that mound and continue to make magic. First ballgame at Yankee Stadium . Won an auction and we had suite tickets. Got there early to get to the suite. Once there it was amazing, clean and spacious. Easily accessible for my wife's walker. As a Red Sox fan, came here expecting to be razzed, but it's a baseball game after all. Different buzz than at Fenway, but I think I would have wanted to sit near the fans on either the first or third base line, heck maybe venture out to the bleachers. I came here 8/25 for the Yankee evening game against the Washington Nationals Section 419 Row 11 Seat 27. I got here around 5:30 and I'm glad I did. The line to get through security was long. I'm guessing there were at least 50 people in front of me and took about 10 minutes before security started screening people. You have to go through a metal detector. I think I got in almost exactly 6 pm. I got beer (2 Michelob 24 oz cans) on the first level and walked up the ramp to my seat. By the time I got up to the 3rd level to get food, the lines were too long. I wasn't that hungry yet, so I figured would get food later. I went up to my sections and seat, thankful I chose a seat I can stretch my bad left leg. Whenever, I went back down for the restroom, still too much waiting for food on the way back to my seat. The game was exciting but the game was a shutout for 8 innings. 9th inning the Nationals scored 5 runs. The top of the 9th inning seemed to go on forever, at least for Yankees even when it waa 2 outs. But it was finally 8.5 innings and the Yankees defeated the Nationals. read more

It's been such a long time since I saw a game at the Yankees stadium. This time around I went with a group of 3 people and we sat in the grandstand. Honestly it doesn't matter where you sit in the stadium you'll have a nice view of the field. First thing is first, give yourself enough time to get into the stadium before the game starts. The lines can become significantly long and you can miss the start of the game if that's deal beaker for you. And you must get their popcorn and Guinness. It's an excellent combination. I'd always used to get a hot dog and a Corona. It was time to change up things. Haha. I'm totally thrilled how they have more of a variety of food vendors in the stadium. Wowww! I think I like baseball now. A friend planned for all of us to go on July 3, 2023 to watch the fireworks show since it was the first show in a long time? I dunno, something like that. The fireworks DID NOT disappoint. The plan was to go to hangout and eat stadium food, but the game was actually really good and interesting!! So much so that my partner and I bought a Yankees cap after the game and now I'm slowly learning how to read baseball stats! I always thought baseball was boring but damn, that Yankees vs. Orioles game was FIRE! We arrived at the stadium @ the top of the 4th? inning, 3-0 Orioles, and then some homeruns later, it's Yankees FTW! I love my new hat, but as a San Francisco native, I should now probably go support the Giants and buy a black and orange hat. Also, I now understand why the section behind home base is so coveted. THAT VIEW is amazing! The seats are cushioned! Also ALSO, coming out of the subway station was interesting. Very different from LES. Two of the guys both said the McDonalds there felt like the McDonalds in the Mission District. read more

So, I was really hoping NEW Yankee Stadium would be worth the hype especially since it was a cold and wet day at the ballpark. The outside facade and the proximity to the train is awesome but once you get inside things change just a bit. The Great Hall area is pretty nice with a custom jersey shop and great views of the field. However, as I walked around the entire stadium on both the second and third levels, I was a bit disappointed in what I experienced. The concourses were not spectacular, the views were just average, and the sound system was absolute TRASH. I mean the Public address announcer has the voice of a mouse as you can barely him over what is again an already bad sound system. The digital scoreboard is informative but not crystal clear especially for a modern day stadium. The Stadium had some great Vegan options but none on the 200 level where we were seated...WTF!!! I had to go up to the 300 level to get some Halal food and it was actually pretty delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Halal Guys cart near section 321...you won't be disappointed. So, with 16 stadiums I have officially visited this one falls outside my top 10 for sure. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, my Friends!!!! read more

I wanted to try the 99 burger but man that line was SUPER LONG so went to Bobby's burger instead. Delicious. Let me preface this by saying new Yankee Stadium is my 23rd MLB park I've taken in a game. So this is by no means my first rodeo. You get off the subway at 161st/Yankee Stadium platform with what felt like every resident of Manhattan. Walking in, you get to overlook the most ghetto McDonald's I've ever seen, followed by two waves of scalpers and fake merchandise sellers. After that, you enter what I can only describe as a sea of humanity moving in no discernible direction. There are no signs. No staff. No loudspeakers directing you where to go. At some point you end up in a line that's got to be at least 3,000 people deep. All bottlenecked at exactly *two* metal detectors, moving through about two fans per minute. They had dozens of other gates, all locked with no one to be found to help usher people in the stadium. Once you *finally* get into the stadium after over 45 minutes (and the top of the 3rd for anyone counting at home), the interior has exactly ZERO staff, or signs directing you towards your seats. I was in section 230, and had to guess where it actually was. The "Great Hall" would be fine. For a museum. Or something similar. For a stadium? Just seems pointless and confusing. After another 15 minutes (and no help from any ushers), I got to my seat. It had nice sight lines and a good feel/vibe. For all of about three minutes. Then the biggest rule of baseball fan etiquette was broken. Over, and over, and over. You don't get up during play, unless it's an emergency, right? Wait till a break between innings. Nope. Not at Yankee Stadium. Every 30 seconds, someone (or more accurately some group) was walking up and down the aisles, blocking everyone else's view of the game. Apparently Aaron Judge was hit by a pitch and left the game. I wouldn't know because that play, like many others, was blocked by some rando walking down the aisle. On top of that, you had *so* many people just taking selfies, doing IG or Facebook live, looking like wanna be "influencers", without a single care that a baseball game was happening. Aside from that, the lines for concessions were just as long as the lines to get in. Do the Yankees need to have a job fair? Or what? Did Juan Soto get all their spending cash this year? As the most well known, and renowned team in the history of the sport, I had high hopes. Although the team on the field might be a World Series favorite, the stadium they play in, and consequently the people who work there, are a double-A level farm team; at best. I wanted to love this place. The old Yankee Stadium was a dump by the time it closed, but it was a dump with character and an old school vibe that made for a great baseball experience. This new abomination is all flash, and no substance. Somewhere the ghost of George Steinbrenner is appalled. And rightfully so. read more

During my recent trip to NYC I felt it was a must that I catch a Yankee game. Been to NY may times but always failed to make it here and now was the time. I came on a Sunday afternoon to watch that Yanks play the Toronto Blue Jays. It was a nice Sunday with clear skies. I took the subway in from Midtown and it took about 25 mins to get there. Stadium located right off the subway which is very convenient. They have Clear available for faster entry...my eyes lit up as I saw that as I dont like waiting in long lines. Walking in I could see all the banners of the old Yankee greats...really nice touch, but most storied teams have that in the stadium. Concessions had pretty good hot dogs that I enjoyed and drink prices were standard like most stadiums. There was an Aaron Judge burger that I had high expectations for but the staff wanted to get the heck outta there so I think they held back on seasoning lol. Yankees got beat unfortunately that afternoon but I enjoyed my time at Yankee Stadium. Place has a great aura and good energy. I will see a game here again. read more

Attended the Yankees game on May 4th! Was early enough to snag a free bobble head and visit monument park as well. Whole family enjoyed the park and of course the game, with the Yankees bats humming. Facility wise the stadium offers great views throughout. The only thing less than ideal is the length of queues for all the different food stations. Plus, my sister and I both really wanted to get a shake but it was very limited where they were offered and we ultimately walked around a lot with no reward. read more
