I purchased their signature candle in "Wicked Game." I actually got the last one left, but grab one when they restock. Described to me as a soft, seductive scent, it's addicting! I was afraid it would be full of "brown notes" like sandalwood, patchouli, etc, but it was not. It's light, delicate, and feminine. I'm burning it now and it's so delightful! I'm going to need a few more when they restock! The packaging is beautiful and gift-ready, too. I love the pull-out box design. The candle is weighty and substantial and every aspect screams luxury. I also purchased their frankincense essential oil, along with 3 of their soap bars. I love that they offer sustainable, plastic-free products! And as a Black-owned business, you can feel good about supporting Alabaster Box! There are so many products I have yet to discover from them and I can't wait to try them all!

Deco Raleigh is located in Downtown Raleigh on Salisbury Street. The iconic neon sign caught my…read moreattention and drew me in after a walking tour of Raleigh. The store opened back in 2012 and moved to its current larger spot in 2018. At the time, it was the only place downtown to buy a card and a gift. The building was once the NC State Bar's headquarters. Parking is on the street or at a nearby garage, so it can be somewhat challenging. Did you know that Pam Blondin, the owner, campaigned and built Raleigh's first parklet, and she commissioned the city's first sidewalk mural? She is a true pioneer of downtown's public culture. Deco Raleigh is an upscale gift shop with curated gifts. I thought the store was a good size and bigger than it appeared from the street. But the aisles were a little narrow in places. The store carries work from over 100 North Carolinian artisans. Inside, there is pottery, artwork, jewelry, textiles, apparel, home decor, puzzles, books, cards, and other unique finds. The store carries the "Raleigh" and "North Carolina" themed items. You'll also find some gourmet food items. The custom wrapping station makes things so convenient. It is the ideal place to browse and find a thoughtful gift for someone, or just buy something for yourself. The store design is warm, welcoming, and a total visual treat to explore. I'll definitely be back!
