We signed up for a reading with The Hawkeye and he was wonderful. He uses his intuition and the cards to send beautiful much needed information. We created two candles, (1) large and (1) small. The process was fun, and we enjoyed learning how candles are made. They did an amazing job explaining every step. Simple, fun and a unique experience! You get to name your candles! Choosing a fun, uniqure name added to the experience. We named our candles and were told we needed to wait for them to set before we picked them up. They would call us when they were ready, which was a few hours later. We bought a car diffuser and wax melt while we were in store. By the way, I had to come BACK later in the week and buy another one because I regretted not buying one for my car. Do yourself a favor, buy one for every car. You won't regret it. We picked up our candles, which were beautfiully wrapped and packaged to perfection! We kept the lid on them for a few days before burning them for the first time. Once we burned them, we were sold! The wax melts burned beautifully, and the scent filled the room. Usually you have to scrape the old wax off, but their wax melts pop right off! (I'm never buying another wax melt from anyone else.) The building was once the NC State Bar's headquarters. Parking is on the street or at a nearby garage, so it can be somewhat challenging. Did you know that Pam Blondin, the owner, campaigned and built Raleigh's first parklet, and she commissioned the city's first sidewalk mural? She is a true pioneer of downtown's public culture. Deco Raleigh is an upscale gift shop with curated gifts. I thought the store was a good size and bigger than it appeared from the street. But the aisles were a little narrow in places. The store carries work from over 100 North Carolinian artisans. Inside, there is pottery, artwork, jewelry, textiles, apparel, home decor, puzzles, books, cards, and other unique finds. The store carries the "Raleigh" and "North Carolina" themed items. You'll also find some gourmet food items. The custom wrapping station makes things so convenient. I initially mistook it for a children's store. I learned it was a boutique and checked it out. What a cute shop! The store is larger than comparable boutiques and more affordable. Plus they have a discount section! As I perused the shelves, an employee welcomed me. I informed her that it was my first visit and she enthusiastically told me about the shop. She then greeted other customers and answered their questions. I found two discounted tops I liked and tried them on in the fitting room. The first didn't fit, but the second one did.
