We approached an employee and found him (Gary) to be very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the questions we had for our needs. We decided on a tankless version. Gary made sure we had all of the information needed to make the transition from a traditional water heater to the tankless. We truly appreciated his efforts, as it made the whole experience a little easier.

He did an absolute TERRIBLE job installing the carpet. There was a gap between the wall and the carpet in the hallway that he had to have known was there, the carpet wasn't fastened down on the ends or folded over, he used the utility knife and left multiple blades on my windowsill for my grandson to get into. Tony refused to refund any money. Please see attached pictures. Evidently Menards doesn't check to see if these people actually know how to install carpet. I contacted Menards and was told they could not do anything because they don't work for them. I assume that he's probably still on the list as a contractor-do not use Tony Johnson.

I don't know much about Make a Wish Foundation but we like giving to their cause. During COVID19 review: Employees were all masked who had to take payments. Everyone is in cars so there really doesn't need social distant measures needed. This year was just as busy as any other year. PRO TIP: GO AT OPENING in a weekday to beat the traffic and crowds. 5:30 pm I believe when they open. There are no lines and it makes it way more enjoyable. Jolly Holiday Lights have been around for many many years, so they know how to manage their traffic flow. I appreciate that. I don't want to be stuck in long lines with so many little kids in the car. I noticed there are bathroom pit stops along the way of the lights!!! Very nice and convenient. I highly recommend as a family fun winter activity. I would not be attending any other light show but this one.

Such a great cause, and in the past this was a delightful way to celebrate Christmas…read more I drove through Waterworks Park for three many years this event was held there, and then attended when it was at the Adventureland Campground. The organizers did a great job at adapting to both locations. The music was wonderful and the displays were fun and festive. The move to the Outlet Mall just didn't work for us. We attended the Sip and Shop and gladly donated $50, but the experience was underwhelming. The Sip and Shop was a number of local crafters and a 'bar' that had a few cheap wines, a handful of beer selections, and a few spiked drinks. They had 2 people manning it, and the line was consistently 20-40 people deep. The bigger light displays are around the outside of the mall, and the walking section of the mall has been decorated, but it was much more commercial, and not the Holiday ambiance of past years. They sanding their news release that they were moving to a more immersive experience as this was what attendees wanted. I wish them the best, and I'm glad to send a donation, but the move to the mall just didn't work for me.

AVOID! I wish I had never purchased from A Trash Panda's Retro Boutique…read more I purchased a Hollywood Regency vintage coffee table from this seller in March. Only the bottom half was delivered, very poorly packaged, on April 15. It was described as being "in near perfect Vintage Condition with no chips or cracks" by the seller, Trash Panda. The description continued "This vintage item has no defects, but it may show slight traces of use." This transaction began the worst experience I have ever had buying on Ebay or any other retail platform. After weeks had passed, I received only the bottom half of the coffee table -- but not the glass top. A series of calls and subsequent investigation by Fedex revealed that the seller had shipped two packages with no signature required. After 45 days of emails and calls to locate the glass top, two things became clear: First, that the glass top would never be delivered and two, that we were not going to receive any compensation from the seller. It has never been clear if this seller, Trash Panda, even insured the package, or received any compensation. Further, the actually table construction is anything but in "near perfect condition." There were four leaves broken off from the table, which is listed as brass but appears to be gold paint over aluminum. The owner of Trash Panda wrote to us that she would send the leaves to us in a separate package, but they never arrived. A transaction for $750 became more than $1,000 with shipping, to obtain a damaged coffee table that was misrepresented and for which now, there is no glass top and no compensation or way of redressing the matter. The table that arrived is broken, with leaves missing, and does not reflect the picture that was shown when I purchased the table. Sixty days after the purchase -- including dozens of calls and emails with the seller and Fedex -- I regret the day I decided to search for a coffee table on Ebay. The seller no longer answers email or Ebay mail requests.

I'm naturally attracted to merchandise that can be used to store stuff. At the same time, Gayle would advise that I buy less "stuff", thus minimizing any further container purchases. So here I was in West Des Moines, primarily to look for luggage at REI. And much to my pleasant surprise was this Container Store, just an easy stroll away. I wandered around for a while imagining the possibilities. I ended up with some hangers (which for some reason we always need) and a couple cool storage boxes. Sorry Gayle. :)

They walk you through the whole process, from picking what your candle goes in, choosing your scents, and pouring and storing your candle. I chose a large, two wick glass that cost $32 both times I refilled it. They have tons of options for glasses, and options for wax beads/scent oils. They have a punch card, so after 5 refills you get up to 20% off the next candle. The candle lasted me about 3 months because I lit it constantly. The scent never got weaker, it smelled great the whole way through. This is perfect for a girls day, I already have plans to visit again for a third time!

Street parking is available, or you can find a lot close by. You almost get knocked back when you walk in the door with all the smell. That is to be expected when you are making smelly things. LOL Happily they have coffee beans to help your nose along the way. Our friend set up the appointment for a Thursday evening. We got there on time minus one. It was just a girls night out of 4. We confirmed with the staff that we were not going to hold up anyone if we started late. There was no worry. Lots of room and time. The staff was great and walked us through the steps. You get to pick out your vessel. If you don't want a candle they also have room spray and diffuser options. Then you pick out your 4 favorite smells. Our 4th showed up around this time and we chilled while she got caught up. There was 2 candles and 2 room sprays being made. Our instructor was great help. We all started with the same basics. You get a little tray with all your needed items. She helps you combine 2 of your 4 scents that you liked. We giggled as we "huffed" the scents to make sure that was what we wanted. Then you get to color your sticker for your item. The sticker on your vessel will allow you to bring it back for discounted refills. With the room spray she brings out the distilled water and witch hazel. She walked us through the proportions to put into our bottles. Then to complete with the water and witch hazel. Simple and easy. It was ready to take home. A few extra steps for the candles. You put in the wicks, the mixing of the oils smells into the wax. It gets mixed and then it has to sit and get picked up the next day. Overall its a simple process but there are so many smells to choose from that are offered at the store. It was a fun girls evening activity. If you do a candle it can be $20 and up depending on your vessel. The room spray was just at $19. So you can have this fun without breaking the bank or go crazy and get multiple options.
