So how qualified am I to review these products? I headed to my closet and counted. Then I headed to my drawers and counted. Finally, I went to my laundry basket and counted to makes sure I didn't miss anything. I have thirty-three pieces of Duluth clothing that I wear all the time! I have two types of T's. I have polos. I have two types of cargo shorts and dress shorts. I even have a bunch of Duluth underwear! The pic I posted is a simple Henley T that is about seven years old and has been washed a bazillion times and still going strong. I've never lost a button and it's never frayed or had a ripped seam. It's great for banging around town and running errands. Their stuff is solid beyond words albeit a little pricy, but the value is there. Duluth is primarily a catalog company that of course has an online presence and that's how I make my purchases. So, what about the store? I suspect a visitor unfamiliar with the product would give it four or even five stars. It's clean and beautifully merchandized. The customer service is just fine. There is easy access to the online catalog if you need it. For me, as I'm so comfortable with the product over so many years, the store doesn't add much. However, because the product is awesome and the store is picture perfect with great service, I'm going with five stars! read more

Many have seen the Duluth commercials for their underwear, but Dukuth have a whole slew of quality items. Yes, the underwear is good, but there socks are also amazing. I also have a winter hat from them that is incredible. Yes, they are a bit higher than what you might find in Walmart, Target, or Kohl's, but the quality is definitely there and, at least in my opinion, these clothes justify the higher cost. I have used both their mail order and have visited two of their retail establishments, the one in Hoover, Alabama (just outside of Birmingham, Alabama) and the loc a ton in Jacksonville, Florida. Both of these stores were great experiences and I can honestly say that I have never had an issue. Nor have I had an issue with my orders done off the computer. My only complaint is that I wish there would be no drawings of certain items in place of photos. Honestly, it's a bit of a letdown. Come on, guys, use photos. All in all, I will give them five stars. read more

Duluth Trading Company should not be confused with Duluth Pack (the oldest canvas and leather bag and pack manufacturer in the USA). There is maybe a tiny bit of overlap in each Company's offerings, but if you're looking for that perfect canoe portage bag, Duluth Trading is not the place you want to be. I've been receiving Duluth Trading catalogs for years. Gayle swears by their outdoor clothing (pants and shirts mostly), while I've purchased a variety of merchandise over the years, depending on where their catalog led me. I've found their catalogs to be well illustrated, featuring good quality merchandise, and at good prices. When I'm in or around Ankeny, I enjoy stopping into Duluth Trading's "brick and mortar" store to see many parts of the catalog come to life. Last week I purchased a nice tool bag, while on previous trips maybe there were some high caliber Best Made Items. The store is nicely laid out and I've found the staff here to be very helpful. They also have terminals to link into the virtual catalog just in case there's something missing off the shopping list. read more

I've shopped with Duluth trading company before they had a box store presence in Des Moines. Two things haven't changed in all that time one is outstanding customer service, both on the phone and in person. While in the store it was easy to walk around and look and see how nicely everything was displayed and when I asked a question of the staff person the young man stayed with me until I found everything that I wanted. It reminded me of the old days of having a personal shopper at Nordstrom's in San Francisco. The other thing that hasn't changed is the quality of the goods you purchase, I've never been disappointed by either the clothing or the accessories that I bought. it's also worth mentioning that they follow very good covid-19 standards and having the staff masked up... social distancing... clear plastic barriers at the checkout line.... and hand sanitizer to use on your way out. I think they're trying to make things as safe as possible. read more

I've been looking for a heavy duty flannel shirt for some time. Decided to give a look see at Duluth. Everything in here is quality that is for sure. Heavy duty 10 oz flannel, yup they have them and spendy too, but I expected that. Size you need? Well maybe if you are husky, but a little guy like me there's not much there. Even the Medium Tall wasn't a good fit. I want the sleeves to stay around my wrist. I did buy a flannel in hopes it'll shrink, flannel almost always does. Hence my shopping trip. The staff are helpful if you can get one to help you the service counter is totally discombobulated. Who's helping who, who's in line. "Oh not me I'm just looking at all the stuff hanging around under the counter." "Wait come back here I want to pay." You can probably get the same quality products at a near by store with out the headaches. I'd probably stop in again sometime but I won't be in a rush. read more

Staff screwed up my email address. did not receive coupons that other customers got. asked about this in the store and was blown off. sent email to hdqtrs was totally blown off. We absolutely love the products at Duluth Trading but we were very disappointed in the salespeople at their Ankeny store. We asked which men's shorts were on sale. The clerk looked at us like she had no idea, then asked another clerk & told her "I really didn't want to walk around". The 2nd clerk was helpful with comments but she didn't show us anything except what we first saw. Once we helped ourselves & I was ready to check out a different clerk took care of me but she was much more interested in getting rid of a little ant or nat on her glasses then in checking me out. It is a great store but it struck both of us that the average age of the salespeople is probably about 70. We are a retired couple ourselves & understand older workers are more reliable. However I don't think the image Duluth Trading wants to project is that of a retired company. We will continue to shop Duluth Trading but hope there will be a change in the help in the Ankeny store! read more
