There was a decent selection of clearance items, and I was surprised to find that there was quite a bit of Christmas clearance left (when I was there in March). The store itself was pretty clean. Everything was organized relatively well, but there were a couple items out-of-place - that's pretty standard in retail, though. It was easy enough to find what I was looking for, and the bathrooms were spotless. Everything I was hoping to find was in-stock, and everything was easily priced and wrung up correctly at the register (including my clearance purchases). My only complaint was the check-out time. It was horrendously bad. I easily waited over 15 minutes. It wasn't a complete lack of employees, though. They opened up 2 extra registers once the line kept growing, but when the new lanes would be opened, the employees would privately ask the last people in the current lines if they wanted to move to the new lane, so it ended up not helping those who had been in the line the longest. The employee was nice enough once I finally did get to check-out, though, and she wrapped up my glasses and everything in paper to help protect them for the ride home. It doesn't seem like this check-out problem is a regular occurance, so I'll still be okay coming back to this store in the future.

I went in a little over a week ago to get a pair of shoes that were on sale…read more I didn't see any on the sales floor so I looked online and it showed they had 2 pair in my size. Great. I could find no one in ANY department to try and get service in shoes. I saw 2 people working the check out area but no other employees and I did 2 full laps around the store. So I called and left a complaint which I'm sure had great effect. That was sarcasm in case you missed it. So just now I thought I'd give them another chance. I called the store directly and my call was sent to someone in shoes. Great again. After a 5 minute wait a very helpful person took the information about the shoes (online said they still had the 2 or) and she said she would go make sure they were there and I would hold. 10 minutes later I get customer service again and I said I was holding for someone in shoes. She was talking but evidently to someone else because I couldn't understand her, but she eventually got back on the phone and asked for my name and number someone would call back. I declined her offer. They made what should have been a simple transaction for $68 into a pain in the butt purchase for $85 ( the sale is over of course) but I guess it doesn't matter because it's NO SALE period and there would have to be a very compelling reason for me to ever shop at Kohl's again. There's at least 5 other stores in the area that also have the shoes for $85, I'm going to try one now.

I purchased a couple of sweaters for my wife, as Christmas gifts. One sweater fit, the other did…read morenot. Talbots is not a store with low prices. I had the gift receipts for both, but couldn't remember which receipt, went for which sweater. So my wife took both sweaters (and gift receipts) back in to the store I purchased them from, with the intent to either replace the non-fitting sweater or receive the amount I paid for it. She was met with extremely poor customer service by a "mature employee" (probably close to my age) and was given a hard time and down right rude attitude to her, about returning the sweater. I shopped at Talbots, because at one time they were a very reputable store, apparently this is no longer true. My wife was so upset, that when she came home, she said she would no longer shop there again; and asked that I do the same. In this day and age of struggling economy, you would think a store of items priced as they are, would put forward a better customer service attitude to retain clients. Unfortunately, not only did they loose my wife's future purchases, but mine also, going forward.

(I could hear they were talking about their weekend plans) No one greeted me or offered to help me with anything. I walked around the entire store and found some jeans I was going to try on but no one approached me at all to help. I decided to skip trying on anything there and exited as soon as I could. I was frustrated that no one said anything to me as they greeted some others as they walked in. I was dressed appropriately and normally I end up buying something when I go in Evereve. My home store is either Sioux Falls, SD or Naples, FL. Both of them are super, the people that work there greet everyone when they walk in and are extremely helpful picking out items that I wouldn't even think to try on. I generally end up buying what they pick out. This is the second time this has happened to me at the Jordan Creek Mall store. Not too excited to go back to that store.

And a theme the team carries through "find fashion, experience joy" in every store along with promoting their "with heart" campaign. A portion of sales goes to charity and you can contact them to hold events in store supporting and promoting meaningful causes. They offer online sales, and a trendsend program (you create a profile and your personal consultant creates and sends you boxes with coordinating pieces you can try and choose from as often as you would like, all delivered to your door!) I love the trendsend idea but personally enjoy the in store experience so haven't signed on for a trendsend... yet. I typically run my debit card as credit but was unable to. The person who checked me out offered me no assistance when I asked for help to run my card as credit. I happened to recently get this card, and I could not remember my PIN number (yes this part is my fault). However, the person who helped checked me out should have offered to help me figure out how to run my card as credit instead of just staring at me with an attitude. I ended up telling that person that I could not pay for my items and left because I was so frustrated. I was very disappointed and do not plan on going back to this store anytime soon.
