I love Plato's next door, and as I've gotten older have found more items that fit my more mature style at Style Encore. My mom and I enjoy shopping here. The items are reasonably priced for good quality secondhand: I got a pair of Old Navy sandals for $6 and a pair of like new Nike tennis shoes for $30. My mom got three tops, all ranging from $6-9 and super cute + in great condition. I love how organized the store is, the frequent 70% clearance items, and the quality of brands. You can always find high end shoes and bags here! In my opinion, this Style Encore is leagues above the Clothes Mentor and other stores we have in the Twin Cities as far as cleanliness, quality and price.

The pic I posted is a simple Henley T that is about seven years old and has been washed a bazillion times and still going strong. I've never lost a button and it's never frayed or had a ripped seam. It's great for banging around town and running errands. Their stuff is solid beyond words albeit a little pricy, but the value is there. Duluth is primarily a catalog company that of course has an online presence and that's how I make my purchases. So, what about the store? I suspect a visitor unfamiliar with the product would give it four or even five stars. It's clean and beautifully merchandized. The customer service is just fine. There is easy access to the online catalog if you need it. For me, as I'm so comfortable with the product over so many years, the store doesn't add much. I could find no one in ANY department to try and get service in shoes. I saw 2 people working the check out area but no other employees and I did 2 full laps around the store. So I called and left a complaint which I'm sure had great effect. That was sarcasm in case you missed it. So just now I thought I'd give them another chance. I called the store directly and my call was sent to someone in shoes. Great again. After a 5 minute wait a very helpful person took the information about the shoes (online said they still had the 2 or) and she said she would go make sure they were there and I would hold. 10 minutes later I get customer service again and I said I was holding for someone in shoes. She was talking but evidently to someone else because I couldn't understand her, but she eventually got back on the phone and asked for my name and number someone would call back. I declined her offer. They made what should have been a simple transaction for $68 into a pain in the butt purchase for $85 ( the sale is over of course) but I guess it doesn't matter because it's NO SALE period and there would have to be a very compelling reason for me to ever shop at Kohl's again. There's at least 5 other stores in the area that also have the shoes for $85, I'm going to try one now.

I want household stuff, like throw rugs, not products to use in my house. I want a real rug, not a Rogaine kinda rug. Please utilize that space for household items. I can get my shampoo at Walmart or the grocery store. I can't get a throw rug just anywhere. PS the At Home Store has boat loads of throw rugs if that's what you're looking for.
