I frequent this store very often. They have everything. I was looking for throw rugs for my sun room. They have a huge variety. If you can't find something for your home in this store, you're not looking hard enough. I would like to see a few more dog items, they have dog beds out the ears, but some more treat jars or fun bowls and toys would be great. Staff has always been helpful and efficient. read more

I just moved to the Clive area, I saw the store, I never heard of it, I had to see what it was, so I went shopping. I bought some very nice home decor items today, my only complaint is there is not a cart to transport bigger items through the store to the register, and to your vehicle. I did tell the manager they needed a cart to transport larger items, she said they would help transport. Very nice employees, the store was nicely organized, clean, and reasonable priced items, I received a 10 percent military discount. They have gained a new customer, and I signed up to be a consigner, how fun. read more

I feel like I like this store in my head more than I do in reality. They have tons of items, and some in style, but most of it is not. A lot of their decor is outdated by a few years. The isles are super close together, so close in fact, that only one cart fits down the isle, making it impossible to get by other people with carts. The inventory is disorganized and strewn all about the floors. They need employees to help clean up and organize the isles a bit more. All of this would me more acceptable if the prices were cheap, but they really aren't. Sure, you can find some good deals- but most of it is of the same price of things you could buy at HomeGoods, but without the quality and style. This is an okay place to go to walk around and see if you can find anything you like, but there are better places in Des Moines that would better suit your home needs. read more

Stores like this are crazy, It's not really my style of stuff, but they have lots of it and I know my mom would love this store! The store is set up very well to navigate and they have very nice and clean restrooms, so Im down with that! If you are looking for furniture, rugs, nick nacks, and other stuff for your home it would be a good spot to stop just for how many options you will have! Again none of it's really my style, but I know lots of folks who love signs that say, "HOME," or some wine glass that says, "Wine Diva." What I like about this store: extensive variety, well organized into sections of where everything is, decent sales, decent prices, lots to choose from. What I dislike about the store: I can never find/see people to help, the shelves get pretty high, the sale items are confusing (example: a sign that reads 50% off on accessories by a section that literally has no items on sale. Example #2: the sale tag will be a color coded slash through the bar code. It's hard to find tags sometimes much less identify if it's on sale), the checkout help does not keep up with the sea of people, many of whom have minimal items, who are ready to go. I went on a Sunday in the middle of the afternoon and there was only one checkout aisle open and the line was quickly accumulating. Not a great idea. read more

What I like about it: every home decor and furnishing that is popular can be found here. I think of this place as a Sam's Club for house things. I do like they have a wide selection of everything. What I dislike about it: the prices on everything. I signed up for their email list and I don't get that good of deals. I feel as though they are priced like any furniture discount place. You won't see bargain deals immediately. You have to find and see on the clearance. Recommend if you're looking for trendy household things. read more

A newly opened store in Clive! I have never heard of At Home before, but apparently it's a pretty well-known chain store specializing in home decor. Now, I didn't expect too much upon visiting, I honestly was thinking it was going to be like a TJ Maxx with a ton of items, boy was I wrong! First off, this store is HUGE and it's full of shoppers! It really has a lively atmosphere with customers shopping and staff walking about. Second, the selections are great! There were so many home decor items I saw that I just wanted to buy them all! The prices are pretty good, I expected the items I thought were good to be pricey, but it wasn't the case! If you are looking to spice your home up, stop by here and take a look! read more

I love all this store has to offer, including their rug selection because of the different styles and low prices. Their cashiers are always friendly, but anytime I've had an associate on the floor assist, they are so rude! They won't do any research, they huff/puff and act like they're being forced to assist. Had the day off so my friend and I decided to stop by At Home since I haven't been there yet. Plus my friend likes it when I spend money lol. Man, this place is amazing! It has everything you would ever want for your house, business, or someone else's house. And everything is priced reasonably, especially when you compare the prices to Homemakers (paintings, décor, accessories). I needed a large painting to go over my fireplace, and there were plenty of paintings (framed, canvas, etc) to choose from. I kept getting distracted from my original goal of finding a large painting since I would see a mirror that I liked, or a smaller painting that could go in the bathroom, or a new lamp that could go on the end tables! So beware of that and hopefully you have willpower :) I found a painting that was around 36" x 36" and it was priced at $79.99. There was a 25% discount that day, so I saved around $20! I should have gotten another one :) I did stop by Homemakers later in the day and a painting this size was well over $150 and some were priced over $250! Overall, I was really impressed with this store. I think I repeated "This store is amazing" several times while walking around with my eyes wide open. I will definitely go back to get some more stuff for the house in the near future. read more

I had been meaning to check this place out. Online their prices were comparable to other options around town so I thought I would give them a try. They are in the old Kmart building on University. I was impressed on how clean everything looked when I walked in. They utilized the space very well with rows upon rows of items. This day I was on the prowl for one particular item. I needed new deck chair padded covers. I headed right to that area and then was stuck. For about an HOUR I was stuck. This is a little frustrating when there are no prices posted near the items, just on the individual item. And if you have ever shopped for deck furniture you know no two are alike. There was about 5 rows of these, sorted only by color. I could not tell how many different versions their were, and if I pulled one item out 3 others would topple out. I finally did catch a worker and asked for help. I needed 5 of the same thing. He helped for a moment or two and then kinda said I was on my own. They don't have a real good inventory because the in stock is always changing and the truck always has something different. This was FRUSTRATING. I ONLY wanted 5 of the same thing in the same color, any color but red and they were so disorganized with this simple thing. Finally I found two and then saw (maybe) three up on the top shelf. At this point I was ready to monkey up this wall and take care of this myself. However my better judgment made me walk to the front of the store and ask for help. He told me he would send someone. I told him it was on the top shelf and they would need a ladder. So of course help shows up with no ladder. Okay, now we have a ladder and she gets up there and pulls exactly what I've been looking for out of the pile. Hurrah! So I finally have what I need after an hour and half, get right to the front of the store and they have one person on a register. Well, needless to say, finally was able to get out of there only an hour or so later than I had hoped. Not the best first impression for me. I didn't even get anywhere else in the store other than the restroom. Which was clean BTW. Well see if I go back. read more

So, the other reviews here are pretty accurate about this place.... it's every man for themselves here, super messy and no employees have ever been super helpful when I ask questions. I've bought many things here so I do enjoy their products... but the experience is kind of a bummer. Also, beware if you have allergies or are prone to headaches- this store smells like somebody sprayed their grandmas entire perfume collection throughout the store. Always good service here always wanting to try to help you their house where section has anything that you would need if you're moving into an apartment or a rental house. I also found lots of reasonably priced shelving to use for books DVDs and a variety of things. I've also bought garden stuff here in the summer it's always worth a look if you're wanting fairly good quality stuff for your garden home or apartment. You just have to to have the right expectations in you're not shopping at a high-end furniture store. read more

I repeatedly get emails for sales that the store is having, only to have gone in two or three times now to find half a shelf of the items they're promoting available. And the items on that shelf are stained, broken, torn. My most recent experience today was attempting to use a $50 gift card I was given a year ago - just to be done w it. The nice cashier rang up my items, the card was reading an error, when they checked it it showed a zero balance. I almost walked away asking them to just throw the card out because I was so over it. However, I went ahead and called the number on the card to find out that At Home still actually showed the full $50 balance on the card number but had deactivated the card making it completely useless unless I went through the steps of calling in and waiting for a customer service rep. Now, I still can't use it today because I have to wait - and trust - another week to hopefully be contacted with a replacement card. While shopping online as well, there is no place to enter gift card information in order to pay. Otherwise, I could've known a day or two ago that there was an issue with the card. Seems very scammy overall. Nothing in this store is worth the trouble. read more

Drove almost 30 minutes to At Home to purchase some barstools. Of the 8 they had out to purchase only one was in a condition that I was willing to pay $180 for one bar stool. From having scratches on the material, uneven tops, and being really wobbly I wish I would have saved my time. read more

Horrible customer service! From the way they greet you to the way they handle your transaction. Merchandise is disposable. Which is not my major complaints and sometimes you don't want to buy heirloom quality stuff. But this place is so lacking in anyone to help you and when they do they're not pleasant that I'm never coming back again! read more

Great store! Huge selection of decorative items, rugs, etc. Their return policy and customer service are superb. I once bought a giant wall clock here that was unfortunately defective and a paper towel holder that didn't fit when I tried to install it. I also misplaced the receipt but paid the items with my credit card. The store associate helped me return all the items easily after looking up my card on the system. He also helped me find and test other clocks. Will definitely come back here. read more

Bought a wind spinner for $60. This thing wouldn't even spin in a tornado, junk. No instructions in box so went to their website. We tried many different ways to locate the item online and it always came up with an error message, no such product. Web said try calling store for help, so we dialed the number and got a message, "call can not go through". tried the same number on 2 different phones and same message. I would NEVER purchase from this company again. I would suggest to look other places before wasting your time At Home. What a terrible, terrible place to make a purchase.. read more

Awesome furniture and decor, and very reasonably priced. The store is also very clean and well organized.... but the dreaded cashier line!!! There is only ever one cashier, and even with only a couple people in line it always seems to take FOREVER!! First let me say I've probably spent over $1000 in the last couple of years at the Clive store and the merchandise has all been good quality. My complaint is with their customer service the one time I've had to return something. The end of November I purchased a $150 Christmas tree and a $30 zippered storage bag for the tree. After taking down our tree we decided we didn't need the storage bag after all. I made the 35 mile drive back to the store to return it on January 9. The bag had never been opened and I had my original receipt. A manager came over and pointed out on the receipt that any Christmas merchandise must be returned no later than December 26 or you could only get the sales price back on the product. Of course, we didn't take down our tree until AFTER Christmas. I understand that policy if the item has been opened but this bag was clearly NOT opened and I had the receipt showing I paid the $30 full price. After a bit of arguing back and forth I unwillingly accepted the $15 refund. This is very poor customer service and a store policy which I've never experienced before. I'm not new to shopping, I'm 65. I like shopping in this store but will never again purchase anything unless I'm totally positive I won't need to return it. read more
