He refucome back to finish up and also threatened me for mentioning this to the clerk at Dunn Edwards Paint when I was having to find a painter to finish up. He was pushy to get me to sign a contract to paint the exterior when I had only intended to paint the interior house. Since were were Remodeling the The Kitchen that was taking longer than expected he talked me into painting the exterior. He was so pushy I signed a contract When I got home that night from work he was there waiting to get paid in a hurry, So I paid him only to find out from the neighbors & their painters who were painting next door that they failed to prime before painting as contracted -promised as he bragged about all he would do yet failed to & failed to paint the garden Seat Walls and the caps in the back, side and front yard as contracted and his or deduct for the statue they broke as they admitted that their ladder hit it. They jipped me by only doing about 1/2-2/3's of the work. Also he charged 3x the going rate of other painters as my neighbors with bigger houses than mine said I paid 3x more that they did for inferior and incomplete work as he cut as much as them. corners started after and was done before them and basically was a rip off.

We were referred to Sunny Painter by family who had a good experience, so we went in expecting…read moreprofessionalism, especially since we're on a tight timeline to prepare our home for sale. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. He came out to assess the job and told us we'd have a quote that night. That didn't happen. After multiple follow-ups over the next few days, we were left completely in the dark while trying to coordinate other time-sensitive work. Our flooring contractors specifically requested that painting be completed first, which he agreed to, so the delay mattered. When the quote finally arrived three days later, as we discussed it he requested for a 30% upfront deposit. For context, California contractor law limits upfront deposits to $1,000 or 10% of the total project cost, whichever is less. Under normal circumstances, I might have been willing to work through that. However, after the lack of communication and missed timeline, it understandably raised concerns. When I asked about both the delay and the deposit terms, his response was defensive and dismissive: "I've been doing this for 30 years and haven't screwed anybody." "You should probably go with someone else." "I'm going to refuse the job." And just like that, after delaying us during a critical window, he walked away. To be clear: price was never the issue. We were willing to pay whatever the price based on a family member's review. We were fully prepared to move forward. What we needed was simple: communication, reliability, and professionalism. Instead, we got delays, attitude, and zero accountability. If you're on a flexible timeline, you may have a different experience. But if timing, communication, and trust matter, especially when upfront deposits are involved, this was a major disappointment.
