I am pleased to share a personal victory with a medical issue I've suffered with for over 25 years…read more Prayer really works, because after seeing many different eye surgeons and other related specialists in multiple states, no one was able to provide a solution--until I went to see Dr. Anthony Volpe in Chicago. Upon the exam, he was confident he could solve my eye issue up to 90% correction through a strabismus procedure (where the eye muscles are reset/adjusted). A month later, I had the surgery, and the very next day after he removed the eye patch I could see! I was amazed. I have only had minimal post surgery issues, but the news here is that his abilities exceeded expectations as he achieved 100% correction. I no longer saw multiple images, just one, the way God designed. Staff: professional and friendly. Although the wait time was a bit longer than I'm used to, I was told it might be due to the fact he is the head of a board of surgeons. He is tops in his field, and I give him the highest recommendation. It's worth mentioning that sometimes going to a small-town medical provider may not offer the latest in surgical procedures.

Staff are generally very impersonal. One male technician who screens your eyes prior to doctor's…read morevisit is very rude! Dr. Ruederman is very unfriendly and just rushes everything and doesn't give you a chance to talk or ask questions!

I would like to thank University Eye Specialist for all their services. They are the best team of…read moreprofessionals that I have met in a long time. For example, I feel down and broke my glasses and went to buy new glasses...guess what... Neftali Romero, ABO Certified Optician, fixed them at no charge...Larry Garrison gave Neftali the glasses to see if they could be fixed and he did it!! Dylana Castro also assisted in the salvage of the "ruined" pair of glasses!! And they had already ordered a new pair; yet still took the time to fix my old glasses...Thank you so much for all your trouble and your dedication as a team. I am in awe!!! The best ever!!

What an awful practice. Truly- from the receptionist to the doctors, they all need a lesson in…read morebasic manners and how to treat people. Have been patient for a couple of years. Don't love it but it was fine the first time I went. Second time I went I was for an eye emergency. I was given a huge attitude by the receptionist then by the on staff doctor who didn't just have a bad bedside manor, was a complete ass and acted like he was doing me a favor by treating me. Called back with a question and left 3 messages- none of which were returned. Today I had to go back for a follow up appointment. Arrived at 7:55 for an 8a appointment. Was taken in for a vision test at 8a and was waiting for the doctor by 8:05. 8:40 and the doctor still hadn't even arrived to the office. Same rude receptionist refused to call and said he'd be in "at some point". No clarification. No apologies. Nothing. The doctor never showed up to work. Apparently his time was more valuable than mine. I walked out and promptly made an appointment with another doctor who actually cares about patients and knows how to run an office. These people should be ashamed of themselves. I hope they get treated at their next doctor's appointment the way they treat their clients.

I can't believe that there aren't any review for Mary. She's an amazing eye doctor. I've been going…read moreto her for a number of years now. On the recommendation of a former coworker, I've been seeing her with wonderful visits. Soon after I got married five years, I went in for a routine eye exam. During the exam, she noticed that I had a retinal tear in one eye. From the time she discovered it to having it dealt with at Rush University Hospital was a few days. See (no pun intended), she also teaches at Rush's Eye Institute once a week. On that day of the week, I went over to Rush to have my retinal tear lasered. Yes, it sounds gross, but wasn't all that scary. She discovered another tear the next year and went through the same repair process. In the following years, my eyes are looking great. Visits to her office are always nice. It's a very clean, modern office with a giant candy jar. Her staff has always been polite and welcoming. Also, Mary does Botox procedures too. I'm a huge fan of hers as a doctor.
