First night here in Barcelona and chose this place because me and wifey were having a late (1030…read morepm) dinner and this was closing at 1130 pm and close to our hotel and had good reviews on Yelp! I gave it 5 stars considering we are in Barcelona and was close to the taste to other ramen places I've had in my lifetime (ramen in Japan, Vancouver, LA, Seattle, San Diego etc) If I was to compare it to the best ramen Ive ever had (Ichiran in Japan), it's likely would be a 3.5 but we are in Spain so it gets a 5. Ordered kimchee based on peeps comments and it was decent but we didn't finish it. Servers were nice and spoke English The Banoffee was good and was new to me. Worth a try I'd say try it if you want something different than tapas. Lots of local ate here

I arrived for a late lunch (according to American standards, of course, as it was probably perfect timing for the rest of the Spaniards in the restaurant) and was quickly seated. I had gotten my filling of tapas during my stay in Barcelona and needed a bit of palate cleanser with a hearty, flavorful bao filled with meat -- a bit like an Asian taco, if you will. I stood firm in my order despite it feeling like heresy as "ramen" is in the name of the restaurant and a quick look around me revealed that most of the tables were definitely enjoying their ramen. Still, with things like pad thai and kimchi on the menu, I felt like I had permission to indulge in my cravings. I dug into a starter of some chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken) that came with some homemade teriyaki sauce on the side. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the teriyaki sauce complemented its flavor instead of being too overwhelming. But the order did seem a bit on the pricier side at €7.50, which is basically the same price as one of the baos, so I think I would've ordered an extra one instead. As for the baos, I got three: the pork, the chicken, and the shrimp. They all tasted very similar to each other -- the pickled cucumber and carrot on the pork and the sauces on the shrimp did most of the heavy lifting, so I barely tasted the difference in meat. There are other places that ofter this bao delicacy in Barcelona (my reco would be Boa Bao) so come to Koku Kitchen for the ramen and gyoza instead. I did appreciate the decor of the place, especially the flower placed in a brown apothecary-esque bottle and the dim, hip vibes of the bathroom.

It was a very nice vibe and reasonably priced. Let me preface by saying everything was good. The octopus was a big hit. The ravioli was the star. Dessert was excellent as well!

We ordered: - organic potatoes bravas Had so much bravas they all taste good haha different flavor profile here but it was tasty, potatoes crispy. - palamós shrimp croquettes Textures seem to be the same as the Barcelona way, puree consistency filling, but flavor was spot on i enjoyed these. - Confit octopus finished on the grill, smoked paprika oil, osmosed orange, fennel, black olive I don't normally like octo, but this one had good tender texture, not extra chewy or rubbery - Beef tenderloin, green peppercorn jus, crispy confit potatoes, grilled zucchini Good tender texture and juicy, the green peppercorn sauce paired real well with the beef. The crispy potato confit was like, flaky outer shell and a scalloped potato inside. - Homemade Truffle Raviolis in a creamy truffle sauce with Parmesan and sage Give me 3 of these orders. The truffle raviolis was bomb! - 2 glasses of rose to wash it all down! Service was kind, and quick! No complaints here really. Took awhile to get our check was about it.

My god...This might be the best Tapas place I've ever been to…read more.. The greatest part is that me and my girlfriend went here on a whim recently. I think I was going to like this regardless because I love fusion food. Living in the Bay Area in California, its just something that I always will gravitate towards. But Japanese and Spanish fusion? Good lord.... When we arrived we just about got the last seats in the house. It was fully packed for dinner. We had been looking for a place to eat dinner and everywhere nearby was full. So we were really appreciative when the hostess welcomed us in. The decor was very modern and slick. It really had an upscale feel to it. But yea everyone who worked there was super nice. I like nearly every single tapas that was brought out. All the fish tapas tastes super fresh, especially when paired with the greens. There definitely was evidence that whoever was the chef making these, had a mastery on food pairings. I will also say that I don't typically like mushrooms. They served a lot of mushrooms this night but I wasn't mad about it. Paired with the Pork Cheek and Steak, it really brought took you on an umami ride. The wine they picked for us also was a perfect pic. So if you do decide to dine here, I definitely would reach out to staff if you have any questions. They seem to be super knowledgeable about wine. But in any case I can't wait to come back here someday. When I come back to Spain, this place will definitely be at the top of my list!
