I normally don't leave negative reviews but I honestly want to help others from making the mistake we did. We ordered the Volcano Roll and the Yaki Steak Roll. Not good. The place was mostly empty and that should be a sign to avoid. I'd suggest you go elsewhere. read more

The reviews made it sound like this was a Japanese option in sandestin. It is not. Located in an extremely touristy (nothing wrong with that) area it is very much your tourist level cooked roll kinda place with perhaps 5 roll options, many of which are strange: fried chicken roll and a steak roll that's deep fried. The remains offerings are teriyaki and mahi mahi with ponzu sauce. I got the steak roll, it was a strange taste of steak wrapper in rice and seaweed that's been breaded and fried. Based on this I'd say if you think this is a great sushi place in a beachy area: no it's not. read more

The sushi is terrible. It tastes like rabbit food. I do NOT recommend if you have had good sushi in the past. Save your taste buds and save your money. Don't get the sushi...go with literally anything other than the sushi if you want to eat here. read more

Even though this is more of an order at the counter type place our service was great. Appetizers and fried rice were good but I've had better sushi at Publix. Yaki is all about location being in Baytowne Wharf. Venture out if you are looking for quality sushi. read more

Stopped in for sushi but was pretty disappointed. The rolls were terrible and not fresh, tasted off and smelled fishy. The simple grilled grouper over rice was good however I wouldn't come back for it. Not sure why this spot has so many good reviews but it surely can't be the sushi. Steer clear and go for a cooked entree. read more

Need to walk to this from the public parking garage. Clean restaurant with country music playing. Three screens. Football at bar, a screen of people in Japan, and a screen with fall scenes and Boston. Need to order at counter and find a table yourself. We were there at 7:35p. Friendly staff. Got a Philly roll, the crispy shrimp tempura roll, and the fried chicken dish. The rolls were fine. The chicken panko crust was crunchy but the chicken was slightly tough. Wasn't dry but definitely wasn't juicy. It came in a rice bowl with sauce. read more

One of the best places to eat in Baytowne Wharf! Order at the counter and they'll bring your meal out to you. Large outdoor patio. Plenty of tables inside. Kids loved the chicken tenders and fries. We ate and loved: -Hibachi Katsu Chicken -Gyoza / Potstickers -Bao Buns Highly recommend eating at Yaki! read more

I was hoping that an Japanese restaurant would come to The Village at Baytowne Wharf. Welcome, Yaki! I love their spicy tuna roll. I do wish they offered more sushi rolls. Perhaps in the future, they will offer some special rolls. The more tuna the better! I recently tried their delicious fried noodles and vegetables with chicken. Everyone I've met there, from the owner to the waitresses and chefs are very friendly and professional. I'll be back again to try read more

We ducked into Yaki for a quick appetizer on a Tuesday evening around 7:30pm. In there, you seat yourself, order at the bar & then someone brings your food to you. We ordered the Bao Buns & they were pretty good! We received 3 pork & cabbage filled buns that were smothered in barbecue sauce. 2 of our buns didn't have much filling inside, but overall we enjoyed our visit! read more

December 30, 2023, dinner... This location is ideal for upscale tourists - it is right in the middle of Baytowne Wharf / Sandestin Resort. New Years Weekend. Customers walk in, order at the counter, and pay. Of course when paying, there's the question about about of tip you'd like to leave - before you get any service and before you eat any of their food. I opted for no tip. (this review is not based on the tip issue - many places do this nowadays). After ordering, get your own drinks from the coke dispenser (like McDonald's kinda thing) and grab a table; they bring the food to your table. Seven of us for dinner, 4 had sushi... at this Japanese restaurant. Not one of us were impressed with the sushi. The taste and texture was bland, with a somewhat 'bitter' aftertaste. The seaweed wrap was tough - could not even tear it apart without significant force. This quite reminded us of the sushi one would get at a Publix - but multiply the price by 5 or so. We do not recommend sushi at this Japanese restaurant. read more

We love Yaki! This is our second time coming here and it doesn't disappoint. Our toddler even enjoys eating the noodles and chicken. My husband tried the Fuji Apple Saki warmed and it was very good. The apple taste was nice and refreshing. read more

Lousy sushi. All rice, little fish. Fish didn't seem fresh. My wife's teriyaki chicken was bad too. Best to avoid this place. read more

It's a casual spot which is not necessarily a bad thing, but the service definitely matches. The food is very much not worth the price; it is very bland and is not authentic. The service is almost as bad, I have seen people pay first, not be able to enjoy their meals and be refused refunds when sending back full plates. The manager even refused to speak to the customers when requested. read more

We stopped by and didn't realize that they were about to close... I said no, no, we'll go someplace else, so y'all can go home. The owner Quang said absolutely no you are staying here! As a previous restaurant owner, I know if you are ready to leave and someone walks in - well, you take care of them, but you really would rather go home!! Yaki's sushi was fresh and delicious!! He even gave us a special treat because I asked for something that wasn't on their menu!! Suki, our server, was so sweet, and even though we were the only table - they treated us like royalty!! Thank you Yaki for fixing us up!! Great fresh food, superior service and very clean!! 5 read more

This place was a shock. Went went there expecting you as usual, ok tasting ok. Boy was I wrong. The food here is excellent. It tasted at the top end of what I've had in the last 5years, at least. The chicken appeared freshly cooked and very flavorful. The noodles, which usually don't have much flavor, tasted great. Staff was friendly and very attentive. My water glass was never empty. You also weren't packed in like sardines. Overall, I'd say if you're in Sandestin, Fl, you must try this place. read more

The food was great and the servers were nice and attentive ! We had chicken fried rice and a steak sushi roll that was delicious !

Stay away! Place was empty at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night, should have been a clue. I order combination noodle bowl( chicken , steak, shrimp) $21. It was bland. The protein was tasteless. Noodles were cooked well, though no flavor per sei. Also, ordered miso soup , which I normally love, it was watered down not very tasty with an odd odor. Also ordered edamame which was very very dry. All in all $65.00 later disappointed. read more

The food was good & the staff nice! We ordered teriyaki steak, chicken fried rice & a cali roll. We also had the salad which I would say was very basic for the price. They DID NOT have a gluten free option (like tamari sauce instead of soy) so our whole group couldn't eat here. read more

Yaki at Baytowne Wharf is an unexpected, pleasant surprise to the SanDestin resort area! In a wharf full to the brim of stereotypical beach tourism food, burgers, and ice cream this asian joint is a great break in that monotony. We stopped in for lunch and both ordered sushi and it was splendid! I've eaten a lot, and I mean a lot, of sushi all over and this holds up really well. The flavors were great, service was great, and decor was cute and culturally relevant. My only gripe is the price, being basically $25 for one roll of sushi and a soda - however this is in the middle of a golf resort community meant for tourism so it makes sense. Definitely want to come back! read more

This was our first meal after a long day in the car traveling here...Sad to say we eat way better sushi in Oklahoma and the prices are better too. Very disappointed, sushi didn't have much flavor-extremely bland even our child thought it was tasteless and the rice in the rolls were very crunchy ( volcano and shrimp roll) Ordered a noddle dish too with combination meat and that was bland as well. Extremely disappointing after spending 100 dollars to still be hungry and not want to finish our food. This was my husband's birthday dinner too... :( The girl working up front was very nice though. read more

I got the poke bowl and my husband got combination fried rice. Neither were great but they weren't horrible either.

You actually order yourself at the bar here which I never enjoy. Food overall needs to be seasoned better- we added soy sauce to several dishes for some flavor. They were out of chicken wings. Kids will likely enjoy the kids noodle option here- those were good! There is no bathroom in this restaurant, which again- doesn't make sense. read more

One star is too high for this rating. This by far was one of the most disappointing food experiences for vacation. We order multiple items off the menu including a shrimp appetizer, sushi roll, fried rice and noodle entrees, and a couple of alcoholic spirits. Everything came to the table bland and seemed as if meats were artificial or expired. We spent close to $100+ and left all the food unattended and went to Oyster House down the walkway. I would not waste any time or money here. Please read the reviews before dining here. This is your WARNING!!!! Yaki please rebrand before you go out of business. read more

Place is sooooo good! Always fresh, the food is tasty and quickly prepared.... Place is outstanding. Had the chicken noodle stir fry last time down for a quick weekend trip to Sandestin. It was great! Great for kids and entire family. The meals were all very reasonably priced. Will be one of our go to places anytime in Baytowne Sandestin. Highly recommend this place if you want something quick to eat that is also healthy. Lots of good fresh veggie options if you want them! read more
