Did a quick 2 hour rental this morning, great staff and very convenient. We rented a tandem kayak but it seems like the Standup Paddle Boards were quite popular. We booked ahead of time, and my only suggestion was to book 1/2 hour ahead of when you expect as the road going up to the lake had a few trucks towing boats so we were about 10 minutes late. We did not rent a dry bag, as we did not feel we needed it, also the kayak had a little hatch to stow a phone to key things dry. read more

Staff is upbeat, friendly and very helpful. I reserved 2 paddleboards online for the next day, and their follow up emails after checkout were very detailed and made getting there/checking in a super smooth process! We were in the water no more than 10 minutes after we parked. Also love that they're pet-friendly. I brought my pup and his own life jacket and was told that they have extras if he ever needs them. Poorly organized. It took awhile before we even got into a kayak because there was only one person putting kayaks into the water and about 80 people waiting. We were supposed to be part of a tour and were given no directions whatsoever so we floated near the dock for about 30 minutes before we finally got frustrated and took off on our own. At this point it was about 15 minutes past when the tour was supposed to start. Once we brought the kayaks back, we were told to go around the other side of the dock but once we got there we were redirected back to the other side. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

We decided last minute to let the kids miss a day of school and head out to Canyon Lake. We were pleased to see boats, kayaks and paddle boards for rent here. The entire process was so easy and everyone was on the water in no time. We signed some waivers and were told where we could go with no wake areas etc though you are welcome to explore if you don't mind the boats. Monday wasn't so busy so it was nice. Pricing was a great deal for two hours. Service was wonderful and everyone was very kind and accommodating. We'll definitely come back. read more

The entire experience was so cool and I can't wait to do it again! Floating the river is sketchy sometimes but this set up is safe, family friendly, beautiful, and easy to do. You pick up the rentals off the marina, paddle down the water way to a boat free area that's pretty big and leads down to a gorgeous dead end in the canyon. There's a beach you can paddle or board to. Please bring cash to tip the staff! I tried to Zelle/Apple Pay but the service was too spotty out there. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable crew. We had a large group of 'mature' women and the crew was so helpful and patient. The scenery was beautiful, of coarse, but the way the lead guide treated us like people she would like to get to know really made the experience special. Small Family run business with a big Heart! We went on the Love on the Water tour for Valentine's Day. SO ROMANTIC! They called and asked if we wanted to reschedule due to rain on our weekend-and I thought that this was very considerate! So we went the next weekend. Friendly staff, helped us into our tandem kayak and sent us on our way through a quiet secret cove and then on to a beachside blanket complete with chocolate strawberries, pillows, and beverages. It was tastefully decorated with love decor hanging in the trees and also had games to play while we watched the sun get lower in the canyon. Ahhhhh is all I can say. A great place to rent kayaks! We did a self Guided rental and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We signed our waivers before arriving. We were fitted for life jackets and then helped into the canoe. They pointed us in the directions that are generally more calm but we were there on a Monday and the whole lake was pretty calm. Make sure you bring water and any snacks you might want as there is none available at the dock for purchase. The kayaks do have small cup holders which worked great for my Stanley cup!! read more

I attended a sunset paddle board and kayak tour hosted by Andrea Blake with Yak N Sup. The Yak N Sup team was amazing and got us set up with paddle board rentals, life vests, water, and lanterns. My friend Filipe from France had two days in Arizona. Dunno if it was a little destined when he had a pin on the map of Canyon Lake, with an idea shot me out of blue, before a sudden heat of joy and excitement. Let's go kayaking! I'd admit it's my first experience, in which he single-handedly captained both the direction and the engines(his paddles) with three fingers amount of his strength I could contribute. By the time we were greeted by the ninth cactus on the side of the canyon, laid back to our own indulgence, we left the kayak afloat, we left our time behind, and we caught eyes with the sky. I had never had a date with the sky for so long. Intense as he usually was for a bright long kiss, and sometimes gentle as he was for the smooth love of shade, there, perhaps, he gave me what I feel alive for. Yawked in my very heart, I had silenced the loudest words in my world! I feel below the very blue sky, and I feel so beyond! I come across many a cactus, and the ninth with a dawn! When I stood up and roll my rock to the top, had he shouted another celebrating storm, had I mounted, had I been reborn, and there he would cheer, with rain, with thunders, with a kayak on Canyon Lake, to celebrate a nameless Sisyphus, and another drop of the rock! (Sorry it's a little dramatic...that's how poets are.) We ended our little journey before the sunset met us. We jumped off the kayak and let our body have a kiss goodbye with the lake. Paddling our way back, we felt grateful for being served by nature and we picked up some trash in the lake. Hospitable as our host Jeremy was who rented us the kayak, he had such a kind heart to help us with putting the trash away. Feeling how genuine and nice he was, I can't help but feeling sorry for how tough it is to keep contributing for services to people but suffering for owning a small business. If you ever feel like kayaking and interested in renting one, they have the best service for you at "Yak N Sup". Don't miss out! It's an amazing experience. read more

Canyon Lake is gorgeous and HUGE! I recommend at least a 2hr rental so you can take your time and see what there is to see. Kaley at Yak n Sup was so helpful and gave me a few route options on the lake depending on what I wanted to do. I also asked to switch my kayak rental to a paddleboard and because things weren't too busy Kaley had no problem making the switch! I decided to take the more scenic, river-like route she recommended and I was not disappointed! I saw herons, a turtle, fish, a mama duck and babies, a cardinal, a blue jay, red-billed water birds or ducks? (lol not sure what they were)... anyway it was sooo peaceful and relaxing! The only thing is...if you take the nature route and winds/water is choppy on your way out there, be sure to give yourself at least 30 minutes from the opening of the scenic route where you can see the dock...to make it back to the dock! I don't have a lot of upper body strength, but sheesh! I had a time paddling against the head winds and it kept turning my board back towards the scenic route ...which I wouldn't have minded if I rented it for 4 hours! I would've totally done that route again haha Oh and with taxes and fees it's about $47 rental for 2 hours - which is average. Kaley also mentioned there are moonlight kayaking trips in the summer, which sounded cool! Overall, great experience and I'll definitely be back! My son & his girlfriend were visiting for the President's Day long weekend. We enjoyed a two hour kayaking paddle at Canyon Lake. The staff is great. They sent emails before we got there with a selection of possible routes and we were prepared ahead of time with all waivers signed. Their kayak launcher works great for getting into the lake without getting soaked. We really enjoyed our paddle along the shore of the lake and into the beautiful canyon. It was a little cloudy so it kept the sun from being too hot even though it was midday. Everyone we met along the way was friendly. We saw ducks and birds and lots of cactus. The couple who runs this place were so sweet and accommodating for our Valentine's paddle and picnic! We loved getting a chance to sit down, relax, and celebrate eachother even though we had a young baby on board. They upgraded us and let us use their own personal life vest for him so we could go out on the water before a really calm and beautiful picnic. They put a lot into the small details to make it feel thoughtful. The location can't be beat, either! Canyon Lake is one of our favorite spots since it's pretty much the closest place from Phoenix that doesn't feel like it. Stunning rock formations and large lake/river. It was also fun getting to see all the commotion around the Dolly Cruise! We'll have to try that next time :D Highly recommend for anyone wanting romantic vibes but don't have the time/energy to prepare it yourself. Plus, you don't have to be worried about your stuff getting stolen or tampered with since they are there (but they leave you alone! It's very private). read more
