My husband and I have…read moredone all but our lake dive (which is scheduled for tomorrow morning) with Rick for our initial PADI certification and he has been great! We work a super hectic schedule as health care providers and parenting 2 busy children yet Rick made sure we'd be certified in a timely manner and worked with our schedule. He made sure we thoroughly understood all of the concepts prior to our first pool dive which went very well. My husband and I were joined by another male and female for our pool dive. Rick took his time with each of us. He taught us the skill and watched us perform it while providing corrections if necessary. NOT ONCE did I feel put down or belittled. Rick takes pride in his classes and store and empowers his students. That being said, scuba diving puts you in a primitive surrounding. We, as humans, are not meant to breathe underwater; I want to be safe. I'd rather be corrected on my skills in a pool than drown in the ocean. I respect Rick as he is very knowledgable and experienced- he ensures you will be safe underwater. Honestly, I feel as if the prior reviews written by offended males must have been from insecure little men. Rick was nothing but understanding, caring, patient and compassionate with not only my husband and I; but the other 2 people who joined us on our pool dive. Thanks Rick!

Rick, the owner has a wealth of knowledge about diving, but shoots himself in the foot every opportunity he gets. He seems to have developed a habit of cutting corners when teaching new divers. He's very moody and at times talks down to his students. He's also inappropriate with women and brings up politics when he's teaching. If you choose to use Scottsdale Scuba, beware of the bipolar bear, better yet go somewhere else.

We did so well we where able to see all the major underwater fun things like the trunk, poker table, Jason with a beer bottle in his left breast pocket and also lucky enough to see the sunken boat. All tasks completed and extra skill taught. Love this group and can't say enough. Got a bunch of new life friends. Oh and Tom the owner is so chill great great guy. I have been a high school PE teacher and football coach for 37 years and I can comfortably acknowledge that the two of them are accomplished "teachers" of their craft. The way they break down the individual skills, explain them, demonstrate them and then guide you through them makes the skills easy to perform. I came with a big party of 14 and I had a great time for it being my first visit. We arrived around…read more11:30am and made it onto the river around 12:30pm. It wasn't too busy so finding a parking spot was fast. We unloaded, and walked over the the check in area to purchase tickets. The cost of the ticket included the shuttle ride to and from the drop off / pickup area. We floated for 2.5 hours and it was sooo much fun. The water was cold but the sun was hot. For the most part we relaxed and in some areas we struggled as the currents were strong. We had paddles on hand so that helped a lot. We saw a few horses roaming around. We took sheets to wrap around our tubes as they tend to get really hot. We also wore water shoes as the rocks hurt really bad when stepped on. We took rope to tie our tubes together and that was great. So much fun. Life jackets are definitely recommneded if you dont know how to swim!

It would have been nice to have a second smaller tube for things and drinks, but when it's almost the same price as a tube pass itself, it didn't make sense to rent one. A couple recommendations would be to bring a sheet of some kind to out over the tube if you're renting one as they get hot VERY quickly. I also recommend having a second tube as there is barely enough room for just you on the ones you can rent. While I suffered because I didn't want to spend the hefty rent price for their carrying tube, I would recommended buying a cheap one to bring.
