The food is OK I have had better but if you're looking for something quick and delicious it is a good stop.

I will say I got some pieces that were likely skin and a lil chewy but the pieces that were tender and falling off the bone were a DREAM. I got rice and peas and greens with is. I did get some gravy on top of the rice, which I always do, but I'm not gonna lie, it would've been good without it too. The service was quick and welcoming. If you've never experienced Caribbean people, you may think they're a little forward, but coming from a Caribbean household I felt veery welcome and comfortable. The inside is very authentic, not crazy fancy but they work with what they have and I respect that. Regardless, it's a great spot to get food, and I will be coming back very soon! Also! The festival/fried dumplings/ johnny cake... whatever it's called in Jamaica was BOMB. Go ahead and dip that in your gravy if you get it as a side.

I've had the hardest time finding consistently good Caribbean takeout food in NJ, so one day I…read moredecided to go with something familiar, Golden Krust, and I'm so glad I did. Back in NYC, Golden Krust is usually the go to spot for patties, but this location has completely changed my perspective because the full menu is worth exploring. Every time I've ordered, the food has been fresh, flavorful and consistently good. Whether it's the curry dishes, jerk chicken, oxtail, soups, porridge, or their variety of patties, from beef to vegetable, everything has been satisfying. They also stock Caribbean favorites in the fridge, like carrot juice, which is the perfect addition to the meal. One thing that genuinely surprised me was the customer service. I wasn't expecting much the first time I walked in, but every visit has been pleasant. The staff is friendly, my orders are accurate, and the service is consistently good. And, if you know Caribbean take out restaurants, you know the joke: most times the best food comes with the roughest customer service. Thankfully, that's not the case here. The warm service actually matches the quality of food, and that's one of the reasons I keep coming back. To top it off, parking is available, and there's even a drive thru, which makes grabbing a quick meal even more convenient. If you've been searching for solid Caribbean takeout, this location is definitely worth a visit.

I ordered the spinach patty along with cocoa bread and a saltfish fritter. The fritter was decent -- nothing particularly standout, but solid enough to enjoy. The spinach patty, on the other hand, remains a reliable choice. Flavorful and well-seasoned as usual, though the crust was a bit on the harder side this time. Golden Krust is definitely at its best when you catch the patties fresh out of the oven; that's when the texture really shines. The cocoa bread did its job -- soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for balancing the savory bites. Service was friendly and efficient, the restaurant was clean, and the turnaround time for food was quick, which is exactly what you hope for in a grab-and-go stop. Overall, no complaints. It's not a gourmet experience, but it's consistent, convenient, and hits the spot when you're craving a quick Caribbean snack.

Unfortunately, they were out when I arrived, which was a bit of a letdown since that was the main reason for my visit. That said, I pivoted and ordered a double instead, and it turned out to be a solid choice. The double was flavorful, especially with the added peppers, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. At just $3, it's hard to argue with the value -- a very fair price for a quick, satisfying bite. Overall, the food itself was good and definitely scratched the Caribbean street-food itch. The ambiance was standard and clean. My only real disappointment was the lack of salt and bake, since it's something I was genuinely looking forward to trying. Still, if you're in the area and craving an affordable, tasty double, this spot delivers. I'll likely give it another shot in hopes of catching the full menu next time.
