We were told our drinks were coming but they had to get more ice. There was no one else there so what happened to the ice and why is the food not piping hot... I will not be returning.

Very Disappointing Experience…read more Unfortunately, the service at Thyme Restaurant was horrible. We waited about 30 minutes, only to have someone come back and tell us it would be another 30-45 minutes before we received our food. We were so disappointed that we never even got our food so we just decided to leave. Another issue was the drink menu. The menu listed 14 draft beers, but the waitress told us they no longer offer them. If they're no longer available, why are they still listed on the menu? On top of that, the menus themselves were dirty and sticky, which was very unpleasant. All we ended up having was one alcoholic drink and one beer, and our bill was $29, including gratuity. In my opinion, this restaurant is extremely overpriced, especially considering the level of service and overall experience. I understand restaurants can get busy, but the excessive wait, poor communication, outdated menu, and dirty, sticky menus made this a very disappointing experience. I gave one star because our drinks were decent, but unfortunately, that was the only positive part of our visit. I will never go to Thyme On The River Restaurant again.

Bear with me here; maybe this goes out into the abyss but I'm still gonna say it…read more Years & years ago I was wandering around the area & came upon Island Krave. It was brand new & the woman tending the store was friendly, energetic & passionate about the food she was serving. I ordered jerk chicken but she insisted on letting me have a taste of everything on the menu. Everything was delicious & I now had a new obsession- the sweet coco bread. For years after that whenever I was around I would pop in. I've since moved to GA and been living here for almost ten years. Any transplant will tell you sometimes only family & food keep you tethered to your home state. So happens this wknd I was in town for my sisters wedding & got my hair done a couple blocks away from Island Krave. As she finished up I placed an order on Uber eats, really excited for this meal- something familiar & missed. To see how the quality & care has declined truly hurts my heart. The portion of meat they served me was actually disrespectful to people who work hard for their money & choose to support a small business. These pictures are after they added some. If you're going to chop it to smitherens you need to measure it out to ensure the portions make sense. Anyone that cooks can tell you this is a thigh at best. & this is a $17 plate. I don't want to talk down on the place too much it's just sad how much of a let down the entire meal was after I felt like they threw my stuff together thinking it was being delivered and they wouldn't have to look me in the face. The Mac was good & the flavor of the chicken was as well. Cabbage mushy & salty. Rice is not yellow. & apparently $5 gets you one slice of coco bread now (I got two bc of my troubles, ha!) Idk I hope they can figure it out but personally I would never spend another dollar in this place.

No salt or anything.. I was so excited to have soft fluffy coco bread. I kid you not; it was like a hot dog bun. So disappointed. We're running out of good options here.

Since it was a Wednesday evening, I figured it shouldn't be busy, but boy was I wrong lol. When we arrived, the wait was almost an hour and we contemplated leaving but thankfully, there were two, open seats at the bar, so my daughter and I decided to grab those seats and dine in. The restaurant was very colorful and vibrant and I loved all the Jamaican decor. The bar was just as packed and it took a while for someone to get us menus but after looking over the menu, we decided on the Brown Stew Chicken and the Curry Chicken. We also ordered Frozen Bob Marleys, which were very good. As we waited, we were able to hear the sounds of the band nearby and it made for a nice vibe. It took an hour for us to get our food but our server/bartender, Meka, was very sweet and apologetic. The Brown Stew Chicken was amazing! It was seasoned wonderfully and extremely flavorful. The Rice & Peas and Plantains were just as good. My daughter enjoyed her Curry Chicken as well. Neither one of us cared for the Mac & Cheese. Wednesdays are Groove on the Green, which is a free, Music Concert Series that Cutlass Grille hosts so I believe that's what caused it to be busy. Plus, we saw a few graduates out there as well having graduation dinners. Overall, I enjoyed my food but we definitely picked the wrong day to go. If I'm ever in the area, I would probably return in hopes for a better dining experience.
