Walk in - find a host and be seated - inside or out , lots of tables. Table service - it was on the slow side but given the crowd we were accepting. Lots of good things on the menu, which is broad and has ample vegan and GF options. Coffee was better than expected - above average. Food was good but I noted that table next to us had the dishes come out in ad hoc order so some where finishing when others food arrived. Overall it's good - also a bit pricey. But good.

We were able to easily nab a table outside and amongst a lovely gentle breeze. A gentle note: you may spend a little time, as I did, picking out various leaves and plant matter from your plate and cup if you're seated right at the front tables. The menu is standard cafe fare ranging from smashed avocado or banana bread to the Clergy Burger (aka cheese burger). For around $20 per meal you won't go home hungry. There's a few surprises in the duck and lentil dish with orange. Oh how I wish I'd ordered that. It's a perfectly 'A-ok' spot to stop for lunch and as long as you've reserved ahead, breakfast.

The wait staff were rude and aloof, and to be honest there was a strong odour of cigarette which as someone who lost their beloved father to lung cancer, I found upsetting and revolting while trying to enjoy my meal. The food itself was tasty enough, but certainly didn't surpass my expectations, and the degustation menu was definitely odd, I mean it's Samford Village not Greenwich Village. The atmosphere was disappointing as the outlook was of a dirty shed. And the staff looked underpaid.

As I drove back home in my car the smells that wafted up from the bag sent my tastebuds into overdrive. Upon opening up the plastic containers, serving up the hot fresh dishes and the first forkful of savoury Stir Fry, I was in heavan. This is an absolute winner of a take away. While not being the BEST Thai food I've ever had, for a local take away this is really quite divine. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their dishes. Well, new owners, a fancy refit and some of the tastiest food I've had in a while are just 3 good reasons to give Thai on Ferny Way a go. While there are better Thai restaurants (there are MULTIPLE lists naming them) for a suburban option this is a cracker of a spot. With plenty of off street parking, a really well stocked and reasonably priced bar and a HUGE selection of food to choose from, including some Thai classics if you are looking for a lovely easy night out this is the spot for you. I've tried a few of their dishes now and have to say their soups and salads are amazing and I can't wait to give more of their curries a try as well. I love their curry puffs (so creamy and melt in your mouth) and for those of you that are duck fans, there are a few different duck choices (the duck salad, was crisp, tasty and so moreish). These guys have also embraced delivery (limited area) and take away so those nights that you can't crawl out of your winter warm comfort clothing (ie tracksuit) you can order ONLINE and it's on it's way to your door. They have an excellent menu, friendly helpful staff and a tasty range of drinks to tempt all buds. It really is very nice indeed. The front garden offers shaded tables to relax or you can choose indoor seating to get away from the weather. There's even things for the kids to play with and they're pet friendly too, should you wish to dine with your well behaved fur baby. Top marks.

We probably arrived a bit early, not realising it didn't open until 9am. The breakfast was nice but there was nothing worthy of taking that 'foodie' photo. Mr. 21 months had a bubbacino and enjoyed that, as it came with sprinkles. I have since found out these are free on Tiny Tot Tuesdays. They have 'toys' at the cafe for kids to play with but they are all run down second hand toys that are largely broken and in desperate need of a clean. The good bit about the cafe is that there is a nearby playground, which is somewhat fenced but the opening to the playground is about 1m off the ground, so you do have to lift your kids into it. This was not optimal with a toddler in one arm and a baby capsule in the other. It could also use more shading. It was wet from rain when I was there.
