TLDR: Jena is the absolute best and your event will be better with her at the DJ booth!…read more Having enjoyed Jena's work at many late Beauty Bar nights, when our venue recommended her my first thought was how awesome it would be to bring that vibe to our wedding. Jena not only did not disappoint, she vastly exceeded our hopes for the evening. She expertly kept our guests rocking during an extended dancing portion of our wedding and was great at reading the vibes to keep everyone up and happy. She also helped keep things on track during our ceremony and cocktail hour and other parts of the event. Beyond her amazing talent as a DJ, Jena is extremely communicative and organized and we were in great hands start to finish. Our guests raved about the music and the atmosphere and we just had the most amazing time. We highly highly highly recommend Jena if having a super fun, grooving dance floor is something you want for your event :)

He was so good that our guests couldn't stop raving about the vibe and music the next few days. We definitely gave him a challenge with our music selection, but he seamlessly blended the different genres without missing a beat. I'm normally a harsh critic of DJs, especially when they don't know how to mix well, but this was far from the case with DJ Aumir. Hard to find anything bad to say! If you're looking for a solid DJ who will keep you on your feet all night, definitely connect with him. You won't be disappointed!

We gave him a few playlists to share our overall vibe, and he went above and beyond--asking for a detailed breakdown of the energy we wanted at each moment and location throughout our multi-event celebration. Whether it was the ceremony, the rooftop cocktail hour at our pre-wedding sangeet, the themed speakeasy cocktail hour, or the full-on sangeet dance party, he curated each set with intention and total mastery. His mixes were unlike anything we've ever heard. He seamlessly blended Indian, Western, reggaeton, Afrobeats, Bollywood, and more, creating unique mashups that fit the mood and the venue perfectly. The sangeet reception mashup he crafted was out of this world. I had at least ten guests come up to me asking if he would make a mix just so they could relive the night and use it for their own weddings. Beyond his talent, Aumir's energy, professionalism, detail-oriented-ness, and creativity made him a dream to work with. His timing was flawless, his lighting and setup brought every space to life, and he executed every moment with passion and precision. He is a rare gem, and it would honestly be a mistake not to hire him. Highly, highly recommended!

Ruby was so easy to work with, flexible for what we specifically needed for our non-traditional reception, and ultimately made our night more fun and memorable than we could have possibly hoped for. Ruby gave us the millennial dance party of our dreams (I will be thinking about us all scream-singing Such Great Heights as the OPENING SONG of the night for the rest of my life). The entire night was absolute banger after absolute banger. I am not exaggerating when I say several people grabbed us through the night and told us how incredible the music was, and literally every single person I've talked to who came to our wedding has made a point to tell us how much Ruby absolutely killed it. I don't even write reviews like this very often, but I just cannot possibly say enough good things about the vibe Ruby helped create for our wedding and I need everyone to know!! To quote another reviewer: if you need music for your event, don't hire a live band, HIRE RUBY!!

She was so good at reading the room and curating the music to keep things moving. Also, from the DJ booth, she exuded an infectious enthusiasm about the party--a sort of benevolent magic showered upon the crowd that encouraged people to stay on the dancefloor for "okay, one more song!" (and then another, and then another...) In our 1:1 meetings, Ruby was patient with all of my questions about how DJ-ing works. It was a pleasure to tell her "this is sort of what we are thinking...", for her to help us clarify, and then to make it happen! Finally, I want to echo a prior reviewer's comment: our music tastes feel (to us) pretty wild: a very niche mix of Chasidic EDM, Israeli religious pop bangers, remixed Yiddish folk songs, disco, 80s new wave, and indie pop by queer artists. IT WAS ALL IN THERE. Musically speaking, our wedding was very much a fun, dancy representation of who we are. And none of that could have happened without Ruby's talent and hard work! I hope you have the blessing of being able to work with Birds and B-Sides.

Not only does he have just about every kind of music from all genres you could possibly conceive and not only did he conscientiously stick to all of our instructions for our big day, but he intuitively keeps things running smoothly. During an event which can be stressful for just about an entire year leading up to it, I can't even begin to articulate what a relief it was. At every juncture during the evening (and during the ceremony as we had both reception and ceremony in the same place) he courteously and promptly directed the proceedings. We never had to wonder how much longer cocktail hour lasted and when dinner service began, or when as bride and groom we were to have our first dance, father daughter, bouquet toss, etc. Dominic watched and managed the time. We really recommend Dominic Wayne's services. A professional like this is really difficult to come by and for all the added service he's just an incredible value. Always graciously taking requests, he also grasped what we wanted and just did it. He wears a sharp suit too. Can't recommend him enough. What a pro...

This guy's great . . . can I give him more than 5 stars?!?!…read more I used Dominic Wayne for a National Sales Meeting I coordinated this year (150 people held at the Renaissance Hotel in Chicago). Dominic is the DJ at Vaughan's Pub on Sheffield and also had a great resume of other company/corporate events & weddings that he has done . . . I knew he would do a great job with the music and when meeting with him I learned that he also did video production. We hired him to do our Kick off opening day module for meeting. We needed something that would get the employees excited and engerized for the next 3 days. Dominic created about a 5 minute video showcasing all of our brands in an extremely creative and upbeat way (all set to great music of course). The video was great and I actually received several requests for copies of it including one from the head of our Board of Directors who was totally impressed and showed it at the next board meeting. We also hired him to DJ our evening events . . . first night was the welcome cocktail reception, the second night was a casino/roaring 20's themed party. The first night was great, played great music and kept everyone mingling way past the end of dinner. The second night was even better than the first (and 7 mths later, people are still talking about him). We had a Roaring 20's themed night & Dominic was the hit of the party. He dressed up like a gangster, started out the first part of the night with appropriately themed music and then graduated into dance music and had the whole party on the dance floor . . . the hotel literally had to kick us out of the ballroom. We originally only hired him for 2 nights, but actually ended asking him to come back for the third night to DJ our award cermony. . . and again he was a hit. Dominic really brought some freshness and energy to what could have easily been another boring sales meeting. I'm looking forward to the next meeting or event or party I can book him for . . . unitl then I'll head to Vaughan's to hear him play.

Hello, Yelp community!…read more We had Stu Hirsh Orchestra for our wedding in December 2010 and they were just totally awesome. Many of our guests--young and old--complimented them and how they set an awesome stage for the wedding reception. First of all, Stu is great to work with to get every detail set before your event so you have nothing to worry about on the big day. My mom and I met with him multiple times and he absorbed all of our MANY special requests and suggestions. Stu listened and either accepted them or explained why some of them might not work, based on his experience. (He was right for all of them!) He tailored the quantity of performers based on our budget and the size of the venue and ensured that they would play at comfortable loudness levels and at the appropriate tones for the different parts of the wedding (dinner, early dancing, later dancing). Stu made some awesome suggestions of music types and how and when to play them. He explained that the band has multiple singers who excel at different types of songs. Also, this group has been playing together for so long that they know each others' tendencies and strengths and play off of them. Stu said that he's like a football team quarterback and the other band mates are like the football team. Stu makes the calls and the team knows exactly what to do, flawlessly. And on the big day, that's exactly what happened. On the wedding day, Stu and the band were timely, dressed to the nines and were 100% professional for the entire event. They have an awesome male singer with a voice similar to Michael Jackson who was the hit of the wedding. His range and style was a big talking point of the dance floor. The band did an awesome mix of slow and fast dancing that kept the wedding guests happy and dancing through the entire night without any of the awkward transitions that you sometimes find with DJs. One of the things that I really dislike about wedding DJs is when they force people to dance when they don't want to dance. Stu and his crew were exactly the opposite. They never asked people to come dance ("all the ladies on the dance floor!!" or "Where's the bride? get her out here!!" NONE of that). The band enticed people to join the dance floor because they played so well and because the guests who were dancing were clearly having a great time. Those who don't prefer to dance could listen to the music and watch comfortably from their chairs. I could not review Stu Hirsh Orchestra any higher. We loved the music planning before the wedding and the reception was terrific, much due to the excellence of Stu and his team. You'd be lucky to have Stu at your event too. Emily Homewood, IL

Our guests had a BLAST using the 360 booth - it truly brought out some hilariously goofy sides of friends and family that I'd never witnessed before lol.
