Having enjoyed Jena's work at many late Beauty Bar nights, when our venue recommended her my first thought was how awesome it would be to bring that vibe to our wedding. Jena not only did not disappoint, she vastly exceeded our hopes for the evening. She expertly kept our guests rocking during an extended dancing portion of our wedding and was great at reading the vibes to keep everyone up and happy. She also helped keep things on track during our ceremony and cocktail hour and other parts of the event. I can't say enough about Gold Noise DJs. We Had DJ Dominic for our wedding and it was a wonderful experience. From the beginning of the process, they were a delight to work with. We had a small bit of confusion at the beginning, but they immediately sorted everything out in a very professional manner, leaving us with no doubt we were in the right hands. They were so helpful, sending us all the information and walking us through the whole process, giving us all the resources needed to figure out what all we wanted and to help us get there. The music was a big part of the wedding for us, but also one of the more intimidating because of that. Thanks to their prep planning, it made it so much easier and was a huge relief. It also made the process so much more fun! As part of the process, they schedule a meeting with you the week of the wedding to run through everything. We had a weird schedule since we worked up until the final days, and DJ Dominic was incredibly accommodating, giving us a call late at night after work for us and him. It would have been incredibly reasonable for them to say they could only call during normal hours, but they went above and beyond for that. At the wedding itself, DJ Dominic was absolutely perfect. He was there well ahead of time and worked with the venue to have everything figured out by the time he got there. He had everything set up across all three spots within the location for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He made sure to check in regularly before we got started to make sure we were on the same page. The ceremony and cocktail hour went off without a hitch and were perfectly according to plan, even with some of the little quirks we had on our end. Of course, the main thing that really set them apart was the reception. DJ Dominic went with us with all our requests, including allowing us fade out the family dances after a minute since none of us wanted them to last the whole 3+ minutes. We also did our first dance to a song that started slow for us, and then sped up to bring everyone else in, and DJ Dominic did that perfectly, including getting everyone on the dance floor on cue. They encourage you to make a 15 song must play list, and ours was a bit eclectic, but DJ Dominic made it work flawlessly. We heard all the songs, and he blended them so well with similar songs to keep the vibes rolling all night. DJ Dominic also checked in from time to time to see if everything was still good and if we wanted to mix anything up. Truly a professional and an excellent DJ. We had been to a wedding a few weeks earlier, and the DJ was rough. People were not dancing much and they ended early, so we were more nervous than normal. But our fears were unfounded. DJ Dominic crushed it, and the dance floor was rocking all night. There was not a single minute where people were not on the dance floor, making it an incredible night. I can't say enough great things about DJ Dominic and Gold Noise DJs. If you are looking for a DJ for your wedding (or any other event I'm sure), look no further. They have you covered. read more

A year later, we get told by family and friends that our wedding was one of the most fun they've ever been to, where they danced the hardest, and scream sang until their voices were hoarse. I cannot say enough good things about Jena and how stellar she was DJing our wedding night. We gave Jena fairly little direction in terms of what we wanted, outside of a few songs on our no play list, and left the rest to her. Once she told us she wasn't obligated to play hokey standard wedding staples (electric slide, etc) or out of place requests, we were in. We were looking for a dance floor that never stopped, and it was pretty clear from our initial conversation that if we left things up to Jena, she'd deliver. Jena did a terrific job of keeping the energy up by flying around different genres, decades, and styles - it always felt like something fresh and interesting was playing, and there was always at least one person who loved the song playing; it really kept the energy up throughout the night. I genuinely think Jena delivered the best music at a wedding reception I've ever been to - so much variety, so much energy, it was an extremely memorable and fun evening. If you are looking for Jena to DJ your wedding (you absolutely should), I highly recommend giving her as much free reign as possible - it's hard to cede control during wedding planning, but one of the best things about Jena is that she will find a way to keep things moving. We had a challenging wedding with a (non serious) medical issue halting things midway through the night, and the fact that the night was as exciting and memorable as it was is something of a miracle - and we owe a lot that to Jena. When Christina and I were planning our wedding, we weren't sure what Covid restrictions would be in place, and how they would impact the vibe in the room on our special night. Would our guests be wearing masks and keeping their distance, or tearing it up on the dance floor? We were really stoked about asking Jena to do our wedding from the first time we heard her play at the Bedford in Wicker Park. She had such a great vibe going in this room. I totally stalked her out at the DJ stand, and she was great about keeping the music going, but still being friendly & professional, and getting me her contact info. Well Jena stayed just as amazing throughout the entire ridiculous process that is wedding planning. She knows her job cold - which was extremely helpful because I had no idea how much the DJ runs the show at the wedding. She helped us set a timeline, coordinated with the other vendors/photographer. She was fun and professional every step of the way. Available when needed, but not in your face w/ details that didn't matter yet. She knew exactly how to get her job done, and when to ask for the information. JUST SO EASY TO WORK WITH. She was extremely flexible too- You're dancing outside - no problem. Need an indoor setup for dinner & toasts? No problem. At the last minute, the site can't set up a sound system for the ceremony (seriously, this apparently happens) - NO PROBLEM. She was handed all sorts of random last-minute responsibility - including a day-of change to our timeline, and my dad deciding 10 minutes before our first dance that he really wanted a different song. My cousin downloaded it to her phone & Jena made it happen. And oh, the dance party. it was truly epic. We had a few "must play" pieces, and she worked everything in seamlessly: people spent the whole night on the floor. There was something for everyone - aunts & uncles were getting down, ring bearers were up on shoulders, groomsman were having dance-offs. The circle of friends & family just kept moving in around us 'til we were in the center of a big happy dance pit. We had 2 engaged couples at the wedding -both asked us for her contact info before we even left the venue - and they don't even live in Chicago. I can't say enough good things about Jena and Gold Noise DJs. My wedding was 12/13/14, and I literally COULD NOT WAIT to write her a Yelp review. We met with Jena once before booking her--just to discuss what we were looking for, which was a very personal ceremony, a fun/laid back cocktail hour, and then...an immediate wild dance party. My "now-wife" considers herself to be a pretty talented playlist maker, so she had high standards and a couple of specific songs that she wanted played at specific times. Ex: a specific song to start softly just as we were being told "You may kiss your bride" and then to build as we kissed and then exited the room. For my wedding this past October 4th, the music was my biggest concern and Jena delivered on all fronts. From the moment we met she showed a level of knowledge and professionalism that I was very impressed with. Our first meeting was very casual, we met at a bar in Logan Square and over a beer chatted about likes and dislikes and my expectations. She offered up suggestions and walked me through her set and what the reception would be like, and this was all before I made any kind of commitment! Of course, the meeting went so well, I booked her without hesitation. The day of the wedding Jena showed up very early to set up and was there for any questions or concerns we may have had (she even consoled my bridesmaids about their speeches - certainly not in her job description, and very much appreciated!) Because we didn't have a wedding planner Jena really took the reins to make sure the entrance/cake cutting/ speeches, etc were done on time. She even tracked down our photographer and videographer so they wouldn't miss the special moments like our first dance and bouquet toss. As far as the music went, she fit in all of our "must-plays" (and even our second-tier of songs we wanted to hear) into the set flawlessly. She was also more than willing to accommodate even our odd request of some ska songs that were special for my husband and I (she got the whole dance floor up and skanking!) During the entire reception our friends and family alike came up to us just to say how great Jena was and how much they liked the music. It was so much fun, there was music for everyone and our dance floor was packed. Jena is that rare combination of cool AND reliable, which I feel is sometimes hard to find in the industry. Jena was such a huge piece of my wedding planning this year. Talking things through with her early in the year kinda helped guide some basic planning for me and my wife. She really knows what basic needs you'll have at a wedding from ceremony to toasts, to all the many vendors. Jena was the DJ at our wedding on November 1st. We considered Gold Noise based on the recommendation of our wedding planner and also checked out some other companies. Jena was the first DJ we met with, and she set the bar so high that everyone else that we met with paled by comparison. At our initial meeting, she was very professional, yet personable. She asked great questions and made us think about issues we had not even considered at that point about the timeline for the event. It was very clear that she knew what she was doing, and we knew right away that she would be easy to work with and very accommodating. Jena was also very responsive whenever we had questions, concerns or changes. For example, we decided to have an unusual transition into our diear dance rather late in the process. Although we worked out the details with Jena very last minute, it all went off without a hitch. She had great suggestions for getting the dancing started after our first dance, and she was great at transitioning between songs and keeping people on the dance floor.
